  • We recently pushed our Ford Raptor to 500+ horsepower! But with great speed - comes greater responsibility. Which is why we teamed up with Baer Brakes here in Arizona, to provide us with top-tier brakes that not only allow you to come to a complete stop from 60 mph at a very impressive time - but they also look astonishing as you're cruising down the road.
    This front system features the 6S 6-piston Monoblock caliper mounted to a 15 inch 2-piece slot, drill, zinc plated rotor. Baer systems include stainless steel brake hoses as well as calipers that have D.O.T. compliant dust and weather seals. Quality bearings used, along with NAS high grade stainless hardware for our pre-assembled 2-piece rotor. The 6S and 6R R-Spec calipers are Baers Flagship offering, and are built out of a single piece of US sourced 2618 forged aluminum.

    Too bad you didn't use the Dragy to get 60-0 times/distance with stock brakes on your same truck. That would have been useful, true/real time comparison of the product's efficiency.

    Good vid. Don't know if I missed it, did you have stats of the stock brakes with the current wheel and tire setup.

      I dont have dragy stats. I go into some details around the 14min mark.

    The lighter Baer rotors will offset some of the rotational mass, which should be disclosed. Curious how much lighter just the rotors are?

      @vivid_racing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can see the weight differences of both the rotor and caliper at the 2 minute mark! Thanks for watching.

    You do not want drilled rotors on upgraded brakes. Very few manufacturers like Porsche actually cast the holes into the rotor blanks before they're finished with drilling. Drilled holes that are not cast into rotors will stress crack and will cause premature failure!

      For a street vehicle, drilled is fine.

      @@vivid_racing Probably. Perhaps saving a few coins in the process. But I'd never do it. This unfortunately is just for show and actually detracts from actual performance and it is sad we have manufacturers who pray on unsuspecting customers to sell their products. Brembo, probably one of the most famous manufacturers out there making OEM brakes for Porsche have rotor blanks with cast in holes. This is extremely costly and complex operation that lower tier companies do not have the technical expertise to accomplish. Drilling a standard rotor blank without cast in holes is a guaranteed way for failure. Considering your Raptor has been upgraded to higher HP, stopping repeatedly will cause the same thermal stress as street cars, which are lighter, from higher speeds!

    I would like to purchase these. Do they come with braided SS lines? Also I have 17inch Stock Rims. Would these still fit my stock Rims?

    • @vivid_racing
      @vivid_racing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kit uses the OEM lines. They will not fit the stock wheels unless you run a spacer.

    • @LWRC
      @LWRC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You absolutely should replace the rubber OEM lines with quality aftermarket SS braided lines. Otherwise, you will not achieve the firm brake pedal feel!!!

  • @sneediv
    @sneediv ปีที่แล้ว

    You won't be able to put the OEM wheels and tires on due to how big the brake kit is. Should have gone with the Alcon kit.

    • @vivid_racing

      Yes I can. Carry 2” bolt on spacers just incase

    i don't understand why a truck would not have stock OEM big brakes. Even my $43k honda civic type R has 14 inches disc rotors on the front stock.
