    Thanks for the info, I never take the features out, I keep it on training cage on top of my kit for ten to two weeks while flying my others birds then let him/her out, always worked for me before as I don’t introduce any new birds to my loft. If I get new birds, then their babies might go to my loft

    Lets say you where very new and wanted to get into rollers. How many pairs would you start with to breed from and would you fly older birds if you had them.

    • @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763
      @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wichita Roller Man excellent question I would start with about 3 pairs spend the max on these birds from a reputable breeder you want to start out with the best you can get make sure that the three cock birds are brothers the hens don't need to be related to them but if they are even better all of these birds should have been proven in the air you start out with a good foundation you have many years of excellent Birds to look forward to

    • @lexbeltran1354

      Rbc Pigeon You have to be careful of the falcons. They are hungry in the winter and are looking for food, namely your birds. So be careful. 😉

    Hey Sam, I need some advice. My friend just gave me a pair of rollers and I got them in a little cage. But for now I got them indoors and I was wondering what I should do. Should I put the cage outside so they can get used to the environment so one day I can set them free or do I keep them indoors?

    • @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763
      @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ber Lor you definitely want to keep them outside it's better for the birds and you

    • @Brrrrrrr21
      @Brrrrrrr21 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Roller Pigeon Evolution Smitty I understand that but I just don't want to get them stolen. Theres always some fools looking for anything to get a dollar out of. I plan to let them be free one day and be less stress about them but I don't know how im do that without putting them out too long and risk them being stolen inside their cage. There any way I can train them to come back without leaving them outside the whole time?

    Thanks I’m new to pigeons. What would you recommend to someone who wants to get into the hobby. Example should I spend a whole lot of money on my first birds or should I just grab 15$ birds to start with? Common sickness? Hate to do it but basic start up guide for guys like me who want to get into it but not overwhelm or under care for these birds kind of keep it simple and manageable fun and not trying to buy a bunch of birds without giving them my 100% of what they require in a sense I’d like take the time to raise healthy birds. Quality over quantity as far as me being able to give them the best. I’d hate to get six birds and lose them to me being ignorant to the care the require. Thanks for any help and your videos along with sky watcher are helping guys like me thanks.

    can the young birds fly with the old birds Smitty?

    • @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763
      @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Buford Michael excellent question I prefer to keep the young birds and the older bird separated you're older Birds tend to fly for a longer period of time and you young Birds Tim to come down and land much earlier because they're just getting strong enough to fly full time so in my opinion I would leave them separate until you're young birds are flying at least a full 30 minutes after that you can definitely integrate them with the older birds and should have no problem

    • @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763
      @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you cut them they don’t grow if you pluck them they grow back if cut the need to fall out In order to grow back

    Back in the late '60s and early '70s we would home Tipplers in alley Coops by plucking 8 feathers not 10. It worked and it was cruel.

    This is awesome! I am hand feeding 2 white baby homers and plan to train them to fly by me.... only thing I dislike is plucking those 10 feathers hurting the bird 😭😭😭 why can't you just clip them?

    • @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763
      @therollerpigeonevolutionsm7763  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you click them it takes 3 to 4 times longer for them to grow back if you pluck the feathers will grow back from the roots if you cliip them they do not grow back they need to actually fall out in order to grow back from clipping
