Yes I did and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Got in the borrowed gumboots in the marshes. I've put a video on my Instagram Page rosekerin56 This was off my Mobile and the photo was off the new updated Lightroom Mobile app. Your video was inspiring and was just at the right time to invigorate me to get out there. So thanks. I have pictures on my cameras as well so waiting for your Lightroom Processing Video. Keep up the good work. Your videos are awesome. Have you an Instagram Page?
Great stuff Rose. i do have Instagram though haven't used it in years. Everything I only post on Clickasnap these days. Link to my stuff below... MIKE www.clickasnap.com/mike-browne

Mike Browne my Guru. Love his work. I go back to his videos when I wish to refresh. Completed the 7 building blocks of photography. One day wish to join his workshop

Fabulous video Mike! Thank you SO much! You are definitely the BEST on the internet. So inspirational. I can highly recommend your Ultimate Beginner's Course - really awesome.
I agree with all the praise you've received in the comments here so I feel I'd just be repeating everyone else but I will comment anyway to show my appreciation and thanks for the videos you put out. They're thoroughly entertaining and educational and the level of detail is perfect. Thanks Mike.
Thanks ricaa50. Yes i will in part 2 which will be available in a couple of weeks time. If you're signed up to our newsletter you'll get an email as soon as it's live. Link Below... MIKE www.photographycourses.biz/new_video_notification.html
It's amazing how you can take a plain, rather boring landscape and produce such awesome photographs. I've learn more from your youtube vids than the 7 or 8 books that I've read!
Totaly agree with you at 1.08. I was in my local park 2 weks ago (without my camera!) and had time to kill. 8.30pm ish, big sky with my local power station in the middle distance and the sun going down behind me. Sunny, then a downpour, then bright sun again, double rainbow, wondeful cloud formation, a beautiful sky. But then all of a sudden the light changed and the sky took on a blue i have never seen before, People stopped walking and stared at the sky It was amazing amazing. And it lasted about 30 seconds. Just wow.
Mike, I love the precise and deliberate way you explain things so eve beginning photographers can understand and relate to it. Thanks heaps, one of my virtual gurus! : - )
Fantastic photography Mike, been here myself at Salinas De Janubio, Lanzarote last year and took some fantastic photos but from more of a distance - the place is a photographers dream !
Currently on Block 4 of the 7 building blocks course. Enjoying the pace, weekly content delivery gives us time to absorb each concept without moving ahead too fast.
Mr Mike, just love your style of videos here (one of its kind). the constant talking is so much useful for beginners like me to understand how the smallest of things can influence the pics to a great degree. Thank you again.
Love your videos Mike. Been holidaying on the south coast this week and visited Lymington, Christchurch and Mudeford. I am a DT teacher and keen photographer and will also be teaching photography next year! Will point my students to your channel! Chris
Another fantastic video mike. See how your talking about a star burst I have a picture I'm really happy with managed to get a good star burst on it but there is a big bit of lens flare on it. Is there any way of stopping that
Thanks Michael. Not really it's a case of luck of the draw when shooting straight into sun. keeping lens spotless helps a bit. Personally i quite like some lens flare ringlets if they're all in a row... MIKE
What a fabulous place to take photos! And a great video of the different opportunities it presents. I can't wait for part two! Thanks as always for your time and effort.
Thanks Kerry. If you come to Lanzarote workshop next year you can shoot it too... Link below... MIKE ;-) www.photographycourses.biz/workshops/lanzarote

HI Mike, love taking sunsets, & anything which includes water, but never really sure where my focus point should be, & fined the the sun is just blob of bright light, also should i use an aperture higher than f/16 ?
Thank you Mike for sharing all the quality info. Learnt so much from you! Your presentation is easy to understand, in-depth and involves a lot of practical demonstration.
I really love to watch your vids, I'm very new to photography and learning alot from your vids, thanks you for doing these, and the way you teach grabs the attention of the viewers.
Hi Mike. I got away from photography for a while but I still got all my gear. You said one phrase that made me want to get my cameras out of that dusty bag, milk the location. That is what I use to do. I would camp at that location
Great video! As someone beginning to dabble in photography, I've found your instructional videos immensely helpful! Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us! :)

Thank you Jules. The 'Building Blocks of photography' don't stop at the camera. I mentioned in this vid that I've been working on another course for about 3 years which will take the thought process back from the editing to capture time so you have a completely clear path to shoot the RAW. You very often need to shoot something that looks very different to what you want the finished image to look like. ... MIKE :-)
Hi mike, I am relatively new to photography, and I suppose like many, I bought a camera thinking I would go out and take fantastic photos, without realizing how in depth the subject is, from the camera to post processing, so having the attitude to never give up, I got on TH-cam and studied for hours and hours, without TH-cam I suppose the only way is photography classes, I have to say from a novices point off view your videos are without doubt the most informative, I'm not calling all the other photographers on TH-cam because they are fantastic, but they talk as if you already understand everything about the camera, I needed to be taught from scratch, and your videos did just that, so I would like to say thank you. P.s I live in malaga Spain, if your ever over here and want to see places to photograph, just send an email I will be happy to oblige
Thank you jeff chandler . I really want to explore Spain some day. Got tons on my plate for next 18 month / 2 years as we build new online training centre and I have 3 more multi week courses to complete. Afterwards i'm going to put some more workshops together and Spain is somewhere that interests me a lot... MIKE

Hi Mike. Do you know anything about " Luminar ". I was just wondering if you've used it and if you might know the pros and cons of it. Thanks and sweet video as usual :)
(Alan Radley) Another great video Mike. I wonder if on one of your trips to Lanzarote, you have ever ventured up above the cloud layer to get some sunset pictures ?. We did this in Tenerife several years ago, and the colours were truly amazing. Definately worth a try if you haven't.
Hey Alan. We nearly went up one last year to do that but weather forecast said it was unlikely to happen. Didn't want to make everyone get up at 5am to climb a volcano if it was unlikely... MIKE
Hi Mike, thanks for another really helpful video. When shooting directly into the sun, lens glare is always inevitable, even with a lens hood. However I didn't see it in any of these shots. How did you manage to get the shots glare free?
Thanks Ozturk Aker. Lens flare isn't that predictable. It depends on the angle of the sun to the camera and in this case there was a lot of haze in the air abd very little direct sunlight. Also making sure the lens is spotless helps reduce it... MIKE
As usual you are very good at the subject. I am your big fan over 2 years now. You have the most helpful approach towards photography. Other just keeps talking about gears and their functionality, which most of the hobbiest/starters like me cannot afford. Thank you very much. One question always come to my mind is how to decide aperture. I understand for more DOF we need higher fstop number, whereas in this video you changed from f16 to f18 and then I was confused what did you notice to make this small change. Also how do you decide where to keep your focus point so that you ensure front to end sharpness? do you take some tries?
Thanks Kapil. The whole which aperture to use is too big a question for a TH-cam comment. basiclly it will change accoring to what you want to achieve. I was using f16 most of time because on wide lens everything from a few feet in front toinfinity will be sharp. i went to F18 when I was hoping to catch a sunburst effect, but only got a little bit on the edge of the clouds because there ws too much haze in the air... MIKE
Thanks Mike, another inspirational video. I've been busy building a workshop in the garden amongst other things so it's nice to get back to some photography study. ATB
Great video Mike and great location. Some really good in depth tips here. Love the post processing as well. The dynamic range is great to be able to pull those shadows up and bring down the highlights in the sky. Would love to have seen some off camera flash maybe with some gels to add a stark contrast to the salt and rocks in the foreground...(maybe a future video :) Thanks again !
Thanks Mike, it's on my bucket list. Hopefully sooner then later but right now with kids in college and private high school tuition bills are keeping me grounded to local trips around the states with family. So for now I get to visit these great places through your eyes. I also own your videos (beginners course and 7 building blocks) and they really helped me catapult my photos to new levels. Along with your youtube channel I've enjoyed learning quite a bit from you. I just started studying creative lighting techniques with flash and light modifiers which is opening up all new avenues of photography for me. Keep up the great work, looking forward to your next one.
Good Evening Mike (I am in Chicago)! I just wished to say thank you for all of your hard work in producing, sharing, and encouraging that you do with these videos. I just picked up my first serious camera (a Nikon D3400) approximately 2 weeks ago, and I have been watching your videos and tutorials more or less nonstop since...Already I find myself taking better and better photos and while no means an expert, I am progressing at a faster pace than I had anticipating simply by careful attention to and appreciation of your videos. You have a gift for explaining the minutia and distilling it into a format that is easy to process and apply (though it is such a large body of work to be able to internalize it all at once, which is not your fault at all!) I have recommended and shared your videos with as many people who have expressed even the slightest interest in going from "snapping a few pictures" to "shooting amazing photographs" as possible. Even if I am never able to approach the level of professionalism that you muster, I am able to appreciate the care and patience you demonstrate in your videos to encourage us to try, and in a world filled with negativity everywhere, it is nice to find that rare human who induces a sense of positivity. Thanks again, Rick
Thank you Rick. Delighted you're enjoying it all so much. You said "such a large body of work to be able to internalize it all at once" You cannot internalise it all at once. I'm sharing what has taken me since 1993 to learn and have been doing it every day. Learning photography takes time and learning things one step at a time. There's a hell of a lot of information out there but knowing which bit you need 1st is confusing. If you're interested please take a look at a free sample of my 5 week beginners course which breaks it down in the best order. Link below... MIKE www.photographycourses.biz/ubc
That's the camera I started on Rick :) Great starter camera. I'm actually thinking about buying a another Nikon dslr to go along with my fuji x-t2 kit.
Great video as always Mike. So helpful. I'm a recent subscriber and have watched your back catalogue in the last 2 weeks. Just need to get out and practice now 😁. Any master classes planned in Blackforest area of Germany? Would love to join one.
Thank you German Laurie. I'm sorry only one in next 12 months is Zurich. Or the Lanzarote workshop. I've got so much on for the next year or two I'm not setting up any new locations. Links below if you fancy coming. Be good to meet you... MIKE Zurich: www.photographycourses.biz/zurich Lanzarote: www.photographycourses.biz/lanzarote
Thanks Nino. Please share them around and help me make more of them... Yes I use Exposure compensation a lot as I mostly shoot Aperture Priority. But you can adjust exposure manually if you prefer. How you adjust exposure isn't important, doing it is... MIKE
It depend entirely on what colour light I'm shooting in and what the subject's primary colour is Jose Bueno. Generally I avoid auto because it changes if there's a lot of strong primary colour in an image. EG a lot of strong red the camera doesn't know it's meant to be red so it trys to get rid of it by adding green tones. In daylight I generally shoot 5600K , tungsten I use the preset etc - but not always. It changes according to the situation... MIKE
Couple of questions please - what were you focusing on in the shots with the two derelict windmills? Also my camera (Nikon) doesn't have anything called 'evaluative metering' - what should I be using for sunsets please?
I was focussing about the same distance away as i did inthe one with the red arrow for all shots RobertSE6. There's not 'Right' metering mode, only the one you prefer to use. I like evaluative personally but others will have their preference. Not sure which Nikon you have or where it to find evaluative on your camera but my nkions have always had evaluative. On my D600 you change metering modes with the metering selector button just behind and to left of shutter button. Hope you find it... MIKE
You should try Okinawa one day. You will love it! I have some pictures of Okinawan sunsets I like to call "Organic Egg Okinawan Sunsets" because the orange-yellow combinations are unbelievable!
Thanks Mike great advice as usual.soon be time for the next christmas shots :) Just would like to know your recording equipment please. I saw you was wearing a cable. also hope that "on the piss" was a hickup .just saying.
It was a long time ago, but I think I focussed on the back of the 2nd square. Though because everything is pretty much at or beyond the infinity point of the short lens used, it won't make any difference where the focus is so long as it's more than about 3 feet away. If you'd like to learn more about infinity and it's affext on depth of field please join me on my Focal Length Explained webinar. There's a 2 for 12 offer on at the moment - link below... MIKE www.photographycourses.biz/mike-browne-photography-webinars
Sir,what lens should I use for my Canon 700D for landscape photography? I'm a student, so if you can refer a low budget lens,I'd be grateful. Regards From Bangladesh. Sir. I've always followed your almost every instructions and it helped me to improve my photography. thank you sir.
Thank you Salman Rashid Eon. I suggest a wide to mid zoom so you have as many focal lengths covered as possible in one lens which will cost less than having lots of different lenses. I'm sorry I can't suggest a particular lens because I only know the Fujinon and Nikkor lenses I use. I don't sell cameras so have no idea what's on the market. If you're a student who's learning and don't need super high res super sharp files at the moment just buy what you can afford. ... MIKE
They were there Mardhiah Ghaus but were too bright for the video camera o get the detail. Remember our eyes see light differently to cameras because we have a massive dynamic range. If I had exposed the shot so you had better view of the sky, I'd have been a silhouette. In same way someone with a window behind them does when you take a photo of them. You have to choose what you want to expose for... MIKE
honestly saying sir I have been waiting for ur videos for 2weeks&u came yet another fabulous video sir...I'm a beginner. Please tell me on which mode u take ur awesome sunset pictures?p or aperture priority mode or full manual mode?what light meater&white balance u use sir...?anything way thanks again...u r best teacher sir.
I use aperture priority mode bit it doesn't matter which you use. they all do the same things. Metering is evaluative. Have a look at the article that goes with this video on my site for more information. Link in video or below... MIKE www.photographycourses.biz/videos/tips-and-features/techniques/sunset-photography-tips
Sorry Art, apart from going to the airport once in a while, I don't know the area at all. Can only suggest you Google for attractions in the area... MIKE
Hi Art! If you have 8 hours you probably don't want to travel too far so I if you are looking for a town try Hosham. It is an old market town so some interesting buildings, bandstand etc. if you are there on a Saturday or Sunday there is a market so some fun street photography and there is a park in the centre of town for some more "green" shots.....There are also small villages nearby. Not a huge amount but a few nice shots are possible depending on what you are looking for.....Either that or look up national trust properties, there are a few close to Gatwick and you can head to the old houses and gardens with the camera.... Enjoy and hope that helps.
Your dedication to your viewers by making so detailed videos is just as great as the photos you make.
Thank you Ruggiero Manente - MIKE
Mike, thank you for putting these videos out. I really enjoy them and always learn something from them.

Thanks Melissa. Please share them around with more photographers as it helps me keep them coming... MIKE :-)
What white balance did you use for the shoot and then which white balance did you shift to (if you did shift) in post-production?
Hey Bruce. I used daylight white balance and made a couple of slight manual adjustments when i made the jpg. ... MIKE
Mike Browne thanks Mike!
Wow I must have a look at one of your workshops in Lanzarotte! Beautiful:)
Be a pleasure to have you along with us @Evil Diesel. Below's a link to a few pics i too this year and the page where you can find out more and leave me your details so i can let you know when 2020 is open... MIKE

Nice one again Mike, excellent.
Hi Mike. Do you know anything about " Luminar ". I was just wondering if you've used it and if you might know the pros and cons of it. Thanks and sweet video as usual :)
Sorry Dan - no, I've only ever used Lightroom. If anyone else can help Dan out please comment... MIKE
Thank you much.
MIKE
Omg I don't know what else to say! To be honest your are professional U know how to teach. Thanks a lot. May Allaha bless u
thank you Mohammed - Melissa pp Mike
Hi Mike, thanks for another really helpful video. When shooting directly into the sun, lens glare is always inevitable, even with a lens hood. However I didn't see it in any of these shots. How did you manage to get the shots glare free?
Thanks Ozturk Aker. Lens flare isn't that predictable. It depends on the angle of the sun to the camera and in this case there was a lot of haze in the air abd very little direct sunlight. Also making sure the lens is spotless helps reduce it... MIKE
Yep best videos on you tube!
Thanks Jim. Why not come join us there next March? - MIKE
Thank you Jim. Yep I completely understand and look forward to meeting you some day... MIKE :-)
Thanks again,
Rick
Thank you Rick. Delighted you're enjoying it all so much. You said "such a large body of work to be able to internalize it all at once" You cannot internalise it all at once. I'm sharing what has taken me since 1993 to learn and have been doing it every day. Learning photography takes time and learning things one step at a time. There's a hell of a lot of information out there but knowing which bit you need 1st is confusing. If you're interested please take a look at a free sample of my 5 week beginners course which breaks it down in the best order. Link below... MIKE

That's the camera I started on Rick :) Great starter camera. I'm actually thinking about buying a another Nikon dslr to go along with my fuji x-t2 kit.
great video! Thank you
Great video as always Mike.
MIKE

Hi Mike. Love your you tube tutorials. Do you use Exposure Compensation for any of your shots to get the result you are looking for?
Thanks Nino. Please share them around and help me make more of them... Yes I use Exposure compensation a lot as I mostly shoot Aperture Priority. But you can adjust exposure manually if you prefer. How you adjust exposure isn't important, doing it is... MIKE
Thanks for the quick reply Mike. Will certainly share your tutorials.
hey mike is there any reason why you focused on the floor? might seem like a silly question.
At f.16 if you focus at about 3m in front everything up to infinity is gonna be in focus.
Hey TeeHTravel
It's as MC Hagianu said above. Short lens + small aperture only need to focus a few feet away and everything will be in focus. - MIKE
Do you shoot in AWB or use kelvin mode?
It depend entirely on what colour light I'm shooting in and what the subject's primary colour is Jose Bueno. Generally I avoid auto because it changes if there's a lot of strong primary colour in an image. EG a lot of strong red the camera doesn't know it's meant to be red so it trys to get rid of it by adding green tones. In daylight I generally shoot 5600K , tungsten I use the preset etc - but not always. It changes according to the situation... MIKE
lots of thanks
MIKE
Thanks Mike - mine has matrix, centre weighted and spot - I presume matrix is equivalent to evaluative?
RobertSE6...Nikon calls it "Matrix" metering.
It is RobertSE6. It's so annoying that different brands call the same things by different names. Glad you got it clear in the end... MIKE :-)
Thanks for helping Wahab - MIKE :-)
Another very interesting video.
What lens are you using?
Hi Philip. It's a 16-55 F2.8 Fuji. - MIKE
Did you have an ND filter on the lens?
Hi Barry. No filter used. Just shot RAW and made sure the Histogram didn't clip at either end so all the data would be there... MIKE
Nice and informative.
Thanks a lot.
Sorry if I missed it but what did you focus on?
It was a long time ago, but I think I focussed on the back of the 2nd square. Though because everything is pretty much at or beyond the infinity point of the short lens used, it won't make any difference where the focus is so long as it's more than about 3 feet away. If you'd like to learn more about infinity and it's affext on depth of field please join me on my Focal Length Explained webinar. There's a 2 for 12 offer on at the moment - link below... MIKE

If you're a student who's learning and don't need super high res super sharp files at the moment just buy what you can afford. ... MIKE
How did those starbursts appear after you edited them? There wasn't any at the scene
MIKE
Nice video man!👊 Do you ever shoot the Milky Way galaxy? Would love a video on that...
honestly saying sir I have been waiting for ur videos for 2weeks&u came yet another fabulous video sir...I'm a beginner.
MIKE

Great shots/edits
THanks for a great video!!!
Interesting video, helpful for a first time sunset shooting , I’ll let you know the result thanks 🙏
Hello Mike, why didn't you use a tripod or a gnd filter?
Hi. Because I didn't need to in this case. - MIKE
Always a Great Job! Well done and so informative "the diamond shape - Great :)
Mike, in Sept 8hr lay over at Gatwick Airport. Any near by towns I can take photos of interest ? I have 2hr Max.
