Shark Cage diving Full experience, South Africa

Day trip to Gansbaai, South Africa, 2 hours south of Cape Town to join a White Shark Project Shark Cage Diving experience. Cruising a boat out to sea in the South Atlantic, where 6 at a time hop into the cage strapped to the side of the boat for about 15 minutes each, while the crew "bait" sharks toward the cage. Time permitting, we were allowed a second round in the cage.
Unfortunately for me, my stomach thought once was enough, and I did a good job holding until the end. I sailed the the Drake Passage without the need for seasick pills, I thought I'd be good on a smaller cruise. Getting an early morning start meant a smaller than usual breakfast meant sailing on an empty stomach, which I guess makes it more likely. Lesson learned.

We did the cage diving experience
Years ago in South Africa I had a chest infection so couldn’t go in the water but I saw more of the sharks from the top of the boats than the people in the cages and got some fabulous photos. Sharks were a lot bigger .
