Honestly I didn’t watch it, but now I’ll do, but I am not happy with 13 nominations, maybe I’ll change my mind…
I genuinely believe it is one of those films that will be over-nominated and underperform. I’m trying to think of any award that it will actually win.

I'm Still Here is a gem, and considering the political turmoil the world has been facing, it's all the more relevant. I feel a lot of people who are feeling depressed about the state of the world right now should definitely watch it: you will cry, but above all, you will leave the room knowing deep in your heart that the bonds you forge will persevere. It's a true story, after all, and seeing it break the language & subtitles barriers and reach the world ia truly heartwarming.
Remember that I'm Still Here is based on dictatorship far right agenda and like Torres said the movie is there to show us how to endure and face difficult times as we are living right now. I see support going for this movie

I'll tell you why Emilia Perez is getting so much nominations: Americans and Europeans love to pat themselves on the back for diversity, but only when that diversity is alligned with their own prejudices. Of course they'd nominate a mexican cartel story (because yk, that's all we have here in LATAM) with no mexicans on it, made by a french men, with cast of almost all Hollywood actresses.
I hope this disgusting movie loses all the awards

💎 I'm Still Here is the first Portuguese-spoken movie to be nominated to the Oscar of Best Picture and the sixth that was nominated to Best Foreign Language (the fifth representing Brazil).
💎 Fernanda Torres's mother, Fernanda Montenegro was the first latin actress nominated to the Oscar of Best Actress (Katy Jurado and Norma Aleandro had already been nominated as Supporting Actress) and, to date, she was the only Portuguese-spoken actor nominated to the award, but her daughter just repeated this. That was in 1999, with the movie Central Station, also directed by Walter Salles and nominated to Best Foreign Language Film.
