I love to see Sideways in third position, great pick! A lot of great movies btw. I suggest you to watch, if you didn't, "Nebraska" and "Frances Ha" :)
Great vid and it was so nice meeting ya!
It was great to meet you, Bryan! See ya next year!
Great meeting you
Nice picks
It's over a year since you've posted now. But I take it based on your love of oldschool nostalgia/feel-good films and Sideways by Alexander Payne with Paul Giamatti being in your top three... you must've loved The Holdovers
Very poor, just western stuff
You left out Barbie!
It is a shame that you didn't do a reaction to Nimona.
DiCaprio is flawless in KOTFM. Y’all have no taste nor media literacy. Jesus.
Good reaction.
Hmm, clearly not a student of world cinema. Nice try.
Fnaf>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>this entire list
You should see Fallen Leaves!
It’s on the list! :)
1:10 - Honorable Mentions 1:56 - Anatomy of a Fall 3:01 - The Killer 3:51 - Saltburn 4:49 - John Wick Chapter 4 5:41 - Blackberry 7:01 - May December 7:56 - The Holdovers 9:25 - Past Lives 10:58 - Poor Things 12:55 - Oppenheimer
Hearing you name most of my top 20 in your honorable mentions and seeing some “film bro” associated posters in your background, I was very concerned what your list would look like. Really solid list and a testament to how incredible of a year it was
I gotta update my posters, it’s been a long time coming, haha. But thank you for watching the video, I appreciate it!
@@BryanSudfield let’s be real, Dark Knight, Training Day, and Goodfellas are stereotypical for a reason; they all rock
Love the list Bryan, so glad we got to have you on for an episode! Your takes are always some of the best!
Nice list, although not even an honorable mention for Godzilla Minus One? Maybe you haven't seen it yet. This movie surprised me big time.
Hello. Sadly saw it after recording this. It would’ve been a high honorable mention, had I seen it before recording.
I like your list. I’m also glad that Killers of the Flower Moon and Barbie are only on your honorable mentions. You were not pressured to go with the flow.
Oppenheimer is an average movie made by a good director and with good actors. The editing is terrible, not from the timeline of the story but from the cuts and soundtrack. There's 1 second cuts when it's only dialogue for no apparent reason (specially on the romantic scenes), sometimes it cuts for an expressionless person's face when someone else is talking and then quickly back to the person with the dialogue. And music in the background for about 90% of a 3 hour movie, many times in places that isn't necessary either. Definitely overrated.
ah loved this! 💕
I still need to see a few movies, but so far I’ve rated 2 movies as a 10/10, Oppenheimer and Godzilla Minus One. Right behind them are The Iron Claw, John Wick 4, The Holdovers, and Air. And, yes, Saltburn is in my top 10!
I like your list but where's the boy and the heron?
Oppenheimer for me too. It was a whole new movie experience for me…feeling two opposite emotions, the ENTIRE movie. Art. Real art.
John Wick? Seriously?
A very good year for movies, 2023. I was beginning to lose hope.
Great video, man.🙂 That's a solid list, especially in how well you explain yourself. There are quite a few movies from 2023 that I haven't seen yet, especially from the last couple of months, partly because some of them haven't been released in my country yet. We won't be getting films like _The Zone of Interest,_ _American Fiction,_ _Poor Things,_ _The Holdovers_ and _The Iron Claw_ until January and February. As it stands at the moment, my top ten favourites are… #10 = _Past Lives_ #9 = _Missing_ #8 = _Sound of Freedom_ #7 = _Talk to Me_ #6 = _Dumb Money_ #5 = _Tetris_ #4 = _Oppenheimer_ #3 = _Nimona_ #2 = _Godzilla Minus One_ And #1 = _Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One_
You're brilliant.
I think I have poor things 1, past lives 2, and Oppenheimer 3. Great list
'All Us strangers' is a masterpiece.
You nailed it, Bryan. My top 10 too, except for John Wick 4 which I haven’t seen. Great review where you actually give substantive analysis. I’m Sharing!
Year-end lists are grand occasions to refine our tastes, to perhaps move beyond expected likes, and your list is distinctively yours, clear from passing on Killers of the Flower Moon, Barbie and Maestro (unfortunately Bradley Cooper forgets, as he faultlessly imitates Bernstein, that the former boy genius was respected for his ability to create, not just juggle relationships). Personally, I eschew violent epics who count on gunplay and trendy visuals, but am thrilled with a director who creates an entire world that is believable and often unsettling, i.e. the Emma Stone film--what an absolute gem! And what a contrast between your second and third selections! Thanks again for your shared cinema knowledge~!!
Excellent run down you really know your craft
I can only assume Bryan hasn't seen Asteroid City.
Bryan has seen Asteroid City and he thought it was good, but not upper-tier Wes Anderson.
@@BryanSudfield Ah, thanks for response, Bryan. Clearly I totally disagree, and I'm surprised it doesn't get your honourable mention. A solid list otherwise (imo, obviously). I think 'Infinity Pool' might be in my 10, but I am yet to recommend it to anybody!
Best list I've seen so far!
So glad to finally see Saltburn on someone’s list. Solid list in a phenomenal year of film!
Agree!
Nice #1
Have u ever heard about.... Sardar udham... Movie???
We have the same #9 haha, great list my dude!
Great choices dude! Always love your picks!
Idk why May December is getting so much love. It felt so flat and out of touch, combined with its tonal confusion and soundtrack from a crackerjack box, I hated it. But great top ten otherwise.
Me too, I just don’t get it. Other than Charles Melton, the thing was a mess. I didn’t see what was a “comedy” about it.
I agree. The tone was all over the place.
I think it’s because of Natalie Portman.. who’s annoying
Really great list and the honorable mentions are great too, have to disagree on #1 and 5 but is all a matter of preferences, saltburn was crazy never saw that twist coming, also honorable mentions for me are: no one will save you, gran turismo, the creator, the covenant, nimona, sisu, talk to me, sharper, and definitely check out corner office i think is right up your alley.
My favorites too loves it , subscribe for sure❤
Hey Bryan! Really glad to see your list! If my memory serves me correctly, it was one of these year-end videos in which I discovered your channel on the first place, so really happy you are still doing them. Stay well man, perhaps I’ll run into you at some film festival next year haha!
Good list dude. My 2023 list will be out in a couple weeks but SALTBURN YAASSSS - SICKOS RISE UP 🫡
Great list, Bryan! I have a lot of films to still watch from this year but we have a ton of similar picks. Awesome presentation on your part and I appreciate the way you’ve described everything here
