Storyman Joe is a great rapper. Not a great artist. There is a difference. Eminem and Jay Z would be prime examples of what Joe is/isn't. I respect him for his skill level as a rapper, but his discography isn't anything to admire.

Dark Fantasy transcended top tier music across any genre in 2010. It will simply the best cross all genre's. 808's was crazily influential but to be honest everything Kanye has ever done is influential. I suppose autotunes went on steroids since 2008.

A few of my "Classics" are Lupe Fiasco Testlo and Youth, The Game 1992 ( excellent story telling and picture painting), Kendrick Good Kid Mad City, Future Pluto ( I believe he had 8 songs off that album alone in rotation).
i would really love to hear Joe elaborate on how To Pimp A Butterfly isn't even a possible contender as a classic. i can see how only 2 years out he wouldn't want to make any kind of definite answers, but i really think it is an album that will stand the test of time and eventually be referred to as a classic & a staple of hip hop.

watch the throne was not a classic and had no impact and was also a disappointment as a collaboration between 2 phenomenal artists with one of them being one of the undebatable Hip Hop GOAT (hint, not kanye). Channel Orange is wrong genre. Acid Rap is a no but i'll entertain a well put together argument and I think they're sticking strictly to albums. Take Care was not a classic no impact. Section 80 was not a classic no impact. On second thought I have to give Acid Rap again a no. Though i personally don't care for it much 808's and Heartbreaks was a classic and is probably the most impactful album of the last 10 or so years, having directly influenced the nature of mainstream music. For the worse if you ask me but it still impacted it.
Man on the Moon was a surprise mention akademiks threw in that I actually feel is correct. When I speak to almost everyone I know around my age (20's) who listens to hip hop Man on the Moon was definitely a deeply impactful album. The only Drake album with any impact was Views but Views was ass. His early albums were solid for debut and sophomore album respectively but they were by no means classic. Calling albums of the last 10 years classics means they stand up there right next to the likes of Illmatic, Chronic, 36 Chambers, and nothing in Drake's discography can do that without throwing accidental insult. If you throw in mixtapes you have to add no ceilings.
