Awesome review 👍 I own a TS wrx sedan and love it... reason I went for the CVT easier to drive and my wife can drive it too with the kids in the back. Gone are the days where I could smash gears and the clutch but now that I'm older I appreciate the smoother ride to and from work but can still have some occasional fun in this car.
Surprising that the ‘24 Impreza hatch for the states has a measurably larger boot space, both with seats up and down. I would still prefer this but ordered the Impreza RS to join my bought new ‘02 WRX wagon.
Hate to break it to everyone, but if you’re crying that it’s not manual you’re just not the target market. It’s as simple as that. This car is clearly designed for families who want a sporty vehicle, and they don’t have time to make their point in the TH-cam comments section.
When viewing or reading VB/VN reviews, I wish reviewers would drop thoughts of previous WRXs & get the preconceived ideas of CVTs out out of their minds. As a stand alone car, the WRX wagon is a comfortable, easy car to drive, dare I say pleasant. If you on a short freeway entrance merging lane or short uphill overtaking lane, fuss free. If you want to go manic, use S#. Reviewer wants wider tyres, did you lose traction or have ant issues ? Same width as Octavia RS but those tyres ok !?! I get everyone gets excited about 0-100, but how is 40-100 or 60-120 which is a little more real life. Downside, fuel consumption higher than competitors, price seems high for a fancy Impreza, but coming from what was the top spec X1 with active dampers, overall this car is a joy to drive or tour in.
Fair points, but...you can't just forget the years of brand equity Subaru has built with the WRX. It's a popular performance car option for a reason. Calling it the Levorg helped differentiate it from being a WRX, but calling it a WRX wagon in Australia is going to have some buyers looking for an experience this car doesn't deliver. You're right, it's a comfortable touring car, but calling it a WRX means these comfortable characteristics might contradict what buyers are expecting.
It amuses me that so many motoring journalists choose to have the sunroof insulation panel open for lighting effect whilst doing the road test, but then complain about road noise.
And while I'm sad about the wagon only coming with the CVT (or what Subaru US calls the SPT), from what I hear, this particular CVT is the first that is actually impressing people, and perhaps will break the "CVTs suck" stereo type. Maybe nudge, rather than break, but progress is progress.
The parroted talking points by journos around the cvt is beyond the point of boredom. Im sure its just to get a few more.clicks and likes. The cvt in the rex is outstanding, and in many ways preferable to a dual clutch.

how much fuel eco are you averaging?
I was heartbroken when I saw that we wouldn't get this in the U.S., but when I learned it wasn't available in a manual I no longer cared.
lol
I fully agree. I own an 2021 Impreza hatchback sport in manual and with the "performance chip" added, I am very happy with it.
You write this no doubt never having driven the Subaru with the Performance Lineartronic CVT.

Not only do we NOT get this in the USA but they give it the absolute WRONG gearbox.... WHY DOES SUBARU DO THIS TO US!?
I love this car, yet I hate it.
We dont get it in the EU
It is not subaru anymore. It is toyobaru. “The” old subaru is now Toyota. Let this sink in for a minute….
@@ymlccc that's make it better👍 better than mitsubishi who became a Renault hehehe
Toyota

Would you prefer this or a Stinger GT?
Stinger GT personally

Mid 7s… XT outback does 7.2 0-100…WRX seadan is low 6… I think either are better options than this Levorg.
I want this so bad in the us. Don’t care about it being cvt I own a 19 Impreza hatch and find flawless.
What ... a WRX w/ hood scoop and no plastic cladding? How did that happen? Confounded
Mid 7 seconds is a joke. To call in a WRX is just not right.
In Japan its not WRX.
its Levorg.
subaru cars are getting better no doubt but i feel like as if their only competition is themselves. they are 10 years behind
COnsidering the manual is basically a straight swap over Subaru is really kicking themselves by not dropping atleast a handful of them
I'd love to see how they'd sell
My guess is sold in 1 day as soon as announced. Delivery down the track...... months...
I love cvt’s, don’t understand why ppl hate on them, get a manual sedan if you want that drivers experience
Just removes engagement. It's fine for commuting, but not ideal for a sporty car.
bro id rather get like a 5k rav 4 than buy a brand new 2020 wrx it looks just wrong
How does this differ and compare to the Outback TX?
ride height lol and size
I hate the giant display in the console looks wrong.
It currently runs 225 tires. Can you run 245 tires on this car , like the sedan ?
With the right wheels, I’m sure.
Mine runs on 245 40 r18 Bfgoodrich. It drives excellent.
Needs (#1) to be a manual. (#2) To have an manual parking brake, manual ac knobs, and be offered in the U.S.....😢
Simple updates that would make me want one even more
@@ProductReviewCarsand no sunroof to lower weight and center of gravity (also will not leak).
That's a 45-10-45 split in the back seats
...
This thing cost 98667 usd in my country
Does it sound good? Thanks
It amuses me that so many motoring journalists choose to have the sunroof insulation panel open for lighting effect whilst doing the road test, but then complain about road noise.
it's not going to be the main source of noise intrusion for tyre noise and engine sound through the firewall, more of a wind noise thing
@@ProductReviewCars Subaru are going the way of Nissan. Final "good year" was 2006. After that they are so yucky to be seen driving one.
1:00 CD PLAYA ??
2:30 uhhhh
CVT only and we can’t get it in the US, Subaru just screwing with us all at this point
So it's a levorg?
In Japan yes. In Australia it’s been rebranded.
@@ProductReviewCars ok I'm watching from Jamaica and it seems very familiar 🤣
Yes (rebadged for Australia….has it tricked you?)
Watching this, as an American, out of total envy, as the wagon doesn't come to our shores.

It's impressing us in relation to other CVTs, still not the best transmission for the car
In Japan you can option the full digital dash which is kinda cool for their CVT cars. So far haven’t seen that outside the Japanese market.
Now THAT would be cool
Need this in the states.
It’s too bad we won’t see those in the states
It’s okay it’s auto only.
Sti badges inside but it's a wrx wtf lol
Yeah...
Come to the US already. Take my money
7 seconds!.....the VW gets under 5 sec
Im subie guy all the way but this thing is atrocious
🔥🔥🔥❤️

WRX wagon!

For pure acceleration sure. Handling is another thing when compared to the Outback.
