    In the shaft inside the torque tube there is a 10mm that you need to remove for the shaft to fully slide out from the fly wheel in the auto version

    When i was younger i would always replace the spring clamps with worm drive. But over the years i have seen many worm drive clamps begin to leak after awhile, the spring clamps very seldom leak.

    Use hair spray on rubber hose to nipple fittings. Just tacky enough to keep from slipping off. Spring clamps work better that way.

    These videos are amazing! I just picked up a 2010 C6 with a blown engine and I’m hoping to attempt to replace the engine myself. However, the most I’ve ever done with cars is replacing brake pads / rotors. Do you think this project is really plausible for a beginner or should I save up the $2,000 to have a shop do it?

      It is probably best to spend the money with a shop because this is a huge and very involved job. If you take your time and do lots of research it possible for a novice to do it, but only if they have the right mind set. It is up to you to decide if you have what it takes.

      @@CrazedPerformanceRepair what sounds like a reasonable price to rebuild an engine ?im going thru the same thing, my local shop found metal shavings in my oil and said it could be a cam lobe but suggested to rebuild it. it is a ls2 corvette.

      What did you end up doing?

    Awesome video. Just removed mine and getting ready to install the new one. Question: I’m replacing the clutch while in there, is it possible to just remove the bell housing in order to take out the slave cylinder or would everything have to be dropped?

      Unfortunately everything needs to be dropped.

      CrazedPerformanceRepair okay thank you. Are there any steps you follow so you don’t end up going back 10 steps and forward 5? My first time installing a motor and I’m trying to plan on what should go on the motor while out of the car and what I should start with when it’s in there. Lol

    I have an 09 c6 corvette and it has a ticking/ knocking noise. The car only has 43k miles on it. Should I have the engine pulled to diagnose the problem? What are some other option to find out what may be the cause?

    why cant I unbolt the bellhousing from the engine and leave it attached to torque tube? I was just about to pull it and realized I better check.

    • @CrazedPerformanceRepair
      @CrazedPerformanceRepair  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can but it is much harder to pull it that way.
