Oh man the nostalgia, that phone was seriously bringing back some memories! Love this so much! I am so excited to watch the show, I didn't realize it was coming out so soon! I was so addicted to this series when I was younger :)
I didn't even know that they were coming out with a reboot of The Babysitters Club. I had to pull it up in a mother window and watch the trailer and the nostalgia is SO real. I remember trying to read all of the books and I think I maybe stopped when they were getting into high school maybe...it's been a while. One of my fav childhood reads was Nancy Drew series and that was my first step into my love for mysteries and thrillers now.
I love the BSC so much! It makes me so happy that you reread some of the books and still enjoyed them. The series was so much fun to watch, and it definitely made me want to do a reread too!
Sooo.... I bought The Babysitters Club graphic novel about Stacey. Barnes and Noble did a good job of displaying it and it caught my eye. It was so pretty. It served me well during quarantine. I did not know it was going to get about Type 1 Diabetes. Which was avery cool surprise, as I was just diagnosed in December with it. I found it very comforting and I felt less alone when I read it. Even though it is a kids book, it still made me feel good. It being represented in a book. So it's funny you did this video. Because I was thinking of reading more of the actual books. But as far as my faves as a kid ( I'm probably about 10 years older than you) Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary were my absolute favorites!!!! I devoured The Bobbsey Twins too! Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Sweet Valley High series, and Trixie Beldon.
I love this book series!! My childhood too! I really hope it will be on the Dutch Netflix so I can watch it because the trailer looks so amazing. I have the Dutch editions and they use the same covers as the ones you have! The same picture but the book cover colour might be different and obviously the title would be in Dutch etc. I love those pictures in the cover. Oh yes, I've read all of the graphic novels that are out at this point of writing, I really liked them. So nostalgic! Oh yes I loved having the harder hitting topics in the series. Growing up I was like Mary Anne too! How cool you were gifted a box of Babysittersclub books! I received 2 as gifts from a neighbour (back in my childhood house). In the Netherlands, only books 1 - 66 were translated (of the main series), as well as a couple of the super specials and specials and mysteries. I still have all of my old copies. I have a few in English and I have some of the later ones on Kindle in English (book 68 and some later ones). I have a VHS tape with 2 of the old episodes of the TV show back in those days. My parents let me buy one VHS tape, and I've never seen the other episodes nor seen them any more for sale. I loved that VHS tape! I still have it, even though I no longer have a VHS player.
Omg I am a HUGE babysitter club fan girl. It was my childhood too. That’s literally the reason I started babysitting then nannying and now teaching 🙃 This makes me wanna buy ALL the books and read them ASAP!

I used to read the books when I was little but I really wanna read the books even though I’m in my 20s. I can’t wait to see this show on Friday. It’s gonna be AMAZING!!! Ok I finished watching I have more to say! I related to Kristi when I was younger and I still think I do. When I do my re-read (I have the first 8 books coming!!) I'll let you know. I have read the first 4(?) of the graphic novel and I 100% recommend. My other childhood series was Sweet Valley High with the twins!
I wasn't a huge fan, but I know I used to read some of them and I liked them. Mostly because I wasn't able to read them in order because I couldn't afford them and my library didn't have them all. Now though I want to read them because of this 😁
I can't remember which ones I read, but i read a couple of them growing up! I was really into Goosebumps, yet they TERRIFIED me. Watching the TV show versions I just crack up laughing because they are so ridiculous. Hmm, Magic Treehouse, Boxcar children (handful of them), Magic School Bus (YESSSSS), and Bailey School Kids, OHHH!!! ANIMAL ARK! Those were my jam! I definitely want to read more childrens books since I'm now a 4th grade teacher, so I want to be able to talk about these books I'm putting in my classroom library!
Goosebumps and Magic School Bus were also my jam! Being a teacher is the perfect excuse to start collecting all those classic faves. Oh! And Wayside School too. So many good ones 🤗
