Just like heat smashes, heat engagers should also not track. The nerf they gave to drag’s b3,4 heat engager no longer tracking should be applied to all heat engagers. And please fix the fucking netcode especially when doing cross play battles
Not all heat smashes are linear, for example Steve's heat smash is damn near homing. Also I get the sentiment but making all heat engagers completely linear would make some characters weak, but I do think some need their tracking toned down like Bryan's qcf1+2 and the Mishima demon paws
Given how easy it is to get in with heat mechanics like the huge heat smash hitbox sizes and that heat smash strings keep going even on whiff, backdash I think Needs to be buffed to make more room for purposeful defensive gameplay. Tekken 8 is already a much more aggressive game where turtling isn't as viable an option anymore, so buffing backdash a little would be a good compromise to still retain the defensive mindgames alongside the new aggressive options.
Backdashing is not the problem. The real problem is a lot of attacks got extended hitboxes. For example my hell sweep or sneak edge can hit people even though my foot never each touched them. This is seems to a problem across the board for every attack in the game. Every attack has a extended hitbox so it's harder to KBD.
As I often say, one of the ways to enhance defense and not reward aggression too much could be to eliminate the chip dmg on block. Leaving anyway the recoverable health, so aggression still have he's purpose but if I block enemy attacks I must not be disadvantaged.
The issue with the heat idea is that it's more complicated than that. Heat is not consumed if the opponent is grounded or thrown. It would require alot of work the rework the system. Also combos would suffer because you could theoretically run out of heat when performing moves the use ut before the combo ends. To prevent this situation, this is the reason why the bar freezes when doing combos.
The amount of times I caught my opponent with my Heat Smash when they sidestep. And the thing is I knew my opponent will sidestep at that moment but I come in will full confidence with my Heat Smash knowing it will track.
An idea for RA’s is to have multiple different ones depending on how you use it. ie: one for just throwing it out, one for when used in air combos, and one when used in wall combos. And each should have different respectable damage scaling.
One thing I want for T8 itself is Character Guides like SF6. These characters are TOO complicated to understand for the average Tekken enjoyer. So I want something in game to tell me. "Hey. Here's ___. They have a special mechanic that ___. Their Heat State does ___. These activates through ___. These are their strengths. These are their weaknesses." I think this would go a LONG way with combatting Tekken 8 as a massive "rage inducing" game. Also, give Heat Defensive Mechanics.
Please this. Main gripe when I was moving from GG strive to Tekken was a lack of starter guide to character. Thank god that Blasted Salami made very good videos on most important moves for character. He made it really to understand irt.

Im a Yoshi Main and I think they should remove his flash combo utility. It makes his combos so flexible and of course every Heat Flash heals you. He already has a lot of wall travel and I think his combos would still be cool enough. Also nerf his F1+2 Heat Dash, it should not launch normally. Because I feel like it is a No Brainer Heat Dash. One personal thing for me would also be to make his CD2 into a Heat Move and maybe instead remove the Heat Property of B2,2. CD2 is a cooler 14f move I think and I loved it being a Rage Drive in T7. I am sad that is has rather few utility in T8. It is only a flowchart counter hit/wall splat move atm.
Lidia buff should be her heat smash armor. It can be broken so easily. For her new move, I’d like a tracking move. She’s got just one that’s only useful to lure opponents to step and does no follow up.
I hope we get a new mode if they're not too heavily focused on expanding the story. Would so love Team Battle, or Tekken Force (which was a welcome surprise breaking up the pace of the story).
Imagine if they added a section in the arcade plaza where you could play all the older tekken games and some old namco stuff e.g pacman, galaga similar to how sf6 does in the battle hub
The constant downplay he does of heihachi is annoying. He always saying average but he is far from it. He’s seen in a lot of high rank play which tells you something. He’s got busted things also. Even at tekken king emperor ranks even where I fight at he’s always just 2 interactions away from match over. That’s all he needs to win and by round 3 he pops his thing and it’s almost a 100 percent that match is his.
I really wish for 2 things. Get rid of fking power crush heat engagers and heat smashes like Ling where you have to guess AFTER you got hit. How insane is that. You eat the Heat Smash AND still you have to take the mix up

The stance SUCKS, either a power crush or a strong parry or a high crushing hopkick can negate it. Even if I delay it, so can the opponent's defensive measures.
It's not a straight up 50/50, it has a lot of option selects, and on 3 of the moves from stance, if you guess correctly, you launch him for it. I started not going into stance after heat smash sometimes just so I can keep up my offence and risk less.
But it has dogshit range and the 50/50 has interesting risk management considering the guard break only leads to a flash punch which doesnt do that much damage (unless you are at the wall which makes the decision making even more interesting) and the hidden thunder god fist does good damage but is unsafe iirc. Even if you disagree with me on its fairness I think its still reductionist to ignore all the cool parts about it.

Kaz gets better damage and his is cancelable, you can fake it into his WS in which he can than do Demon God Fist or Twin pistols and get even more damage, basically a 50/50 CH launcher. It's overall just a more superior move. It's mentally annoying when you get CH by D2 but Kazuyas D1+2 is definitely more deadly to get hit by

Yeah, they introduced to store, but it's lame as hell. It's at least only slightly predatory, but there's basically nothing worth while. They could get a lot of milage if they just knew what to create and sell there, but they're failing to capitalize on the potential, especially when they could do it in a way that makes everyone happy.
All I want for them to change is to buff devil Jin, this is t7 Jin all over again. It's so disappointing that he always get the unjust nerfs while being a trick character archetype (like xiaoyu etc.) he can't even keep up.
I think rage art should consume all your heat or if you uee a heat smash you lose the ability to rage art. Right now there are far too many comeback mechanics. Heat itself is a comeback mechanic as it is a buffed version of your character and heat smashes do absurd damage. You shoulsnt have rhe ability to throw a rage art do mad damage then have the ability to activate heat as well, use your heat smash then wjn the game.
With heat, Tekken 8 should take notes from BlazBlue: Centralfictions overdrive mechanic You pop overdrive, and you get a short window of invunerability, followed with 4-8 seconds (depending on hp, halved if you cancel into it) of an enhanced mode where all your powers are tuned up, and you can do some insane stuff, or do a overdrive accel which effectively a reversal super that exits overdrive on use. The ability to enter overdrive is also tied to your burst, which is a mechanic lets you interrupt combos as long as they're not blocking when you use it. And if you use either, there's a long cooldown that doesn't reset between rounds meaning you'll get an average of like two uses every 3 rounds. It's probably the best comeback mechanic in any fighting game imo. There's just so much nuance around it, and because it's such a strict resource, it allows characters to have some truly broken stuff behind it without it being unfair.
I would love Rage Art to be gone or the damage to be nerfed atleast. I just don't understand why players are rewarded for losing. The amount of times I caught people with my Rage Art while I'm losing only for them to lose 1/3 of their health and losing the round. Even I'm surprised myself how much damage it does. Then you have the issue if one or both is at a Rage Art state both players (myself included) don't risk attacking in fear of being hit by the RA. At that point it becomes a Dance Dance Revolution game where we are both trying to bait out each others RA. And also the fact where you can gain your health back to mid point while having Rage Art active. I think when you go above the Rage Art health meter, you lose the Rage Art ability and can get it back once you've reach the Rage Art Trigger threshold. Also Power Crush has to go. Armored moves should never exist, it's stupid how players can spam that (myself included).
They could just make rage arts more punishment so lows, grabs and jab checking works against it and redesign the rage art to be a meter building mechanic so it's more rewarding to the player when winning and not giving when you lose. you would build up the meter by dealing damage to the opposing opponent and won't gain any meter if your taking damage yourself. Rage arts doing too much damage is an understatement compared to how much damage characters can do with heat. Rage arts only do 55 damage while a character can go above that threshold of damage especially since it deal less damage to an airborne opponent. Rage arts are good at being finishers if you don't have a wall, reach your combo limit, and to increase the dealt after low parrying so I don't think it's completely useless.
Maybe they could change the hitbox from 2004 cylinders into a proper hitbox? csgo had cylinders for hitboxes... back in 2012 :) glad we're evolving the technology, if you're gonna use a 20th century technology maybe make it correct, since it's already jank and put a maximum on the cylinder expansion when I press, makes no sense.

Look, from a balancing standpoint, I hear you, but no one gives AF about Claudio, like there's a 98% chance he won't make it into the next game because like Shun'ei in KOFXIV, he didn't make enough of an impact, and technically he is now dead after he's sacrifice. They should send in another character design which is way cooler in my opinion from his clan or wherever he comes from because Harada promised he would have a bigger role in T8 but the dude is just not appealing, he had to be way more flashy and cooler like a KOF character but he's not.

Neutral guard needs to be fixed. Wtf are my options after blocking heat dash? Seems like blocking becomes frame perfect move

Please this. Main gripe when I was moving from GG strive to Tekken was a lack of starter guide to character. Thank god that Blasted Salami made very good videos on most important moves for character. He made it really to understand irt.

Also, explain game mechanics themselves! Like how combo structure works. The limits of Screws and Launches. Wall combos. These TINY (in the grand scheme) 2-minute long explanations would go a long, LONG way.
@@luischeco3009they already explain the mechanics in arcade quest. Not wanting to watch a video for every character is fine i guess but you get most of the knowledge by simply playing the game and watchting back your replays anyways.
Im a Yoshi Main and I think they should remove his flash combo utility. It makes his combos so flexible and of course every Heat Flash heals you. He already has a lot of wall travel and I think his combos would still be cool enough. Also nerf his F1+2 Heat Dash, it should not launch normally. Because I feel like it is a No Brainer Heat Dash.
One personal thing for me would also be to make his CD2 into a Heat Move and maybe instead remove the Heat Property of B2,2. CD2 is a cooler 14f move I think and I loved it being a Rage Drive in T7. I am sad that is has rather few utility in T8. It is only a flowchart counter hit/wall splat move atm.
Tournament mode has to come back too
Lidia buff should be her heat smash armor. It can be broken so easily. For her new move, I’d like a tracking move. She’s got just one that’s only useful to lure opponents to step and does no follow up.
I feel like the customization wouldn’t feel so lackluster if we could mix and match the stuff that they don’t allow to be worn together too.
Nerf Jin's d2 and ff2's range and tracking but Kazuya's d1+2 and ff2 is perfectly fine?

The constant downplay he does of heihachi is annoying. He always saying average but he is far from it. He’s seen in a lot of high rank play which tells you something. He’s got busted things also. Even at tekken king emperor ranks even where I fight at he’s always just 2 interactions away from match over. That’s all he needs to win and by round 3 he pops his thing and it’s almost a 100 percent that match is his.
Heat timer not freezing while doing a combo sounds like absolute garbo considering that manual activation already eats through a lot of it

I really wish for 2 things. Get rid of fking power crush heat engagers and heat smashes like Ling where you have to guess AFTER you got hit. How insane is that. You eat the Heat Smash AND still you have to take the mix up

Cd 1+2 nerf would instantly put him back to top 20. I think he needs it as is simply because I genuinely can't think of any other plus on block mid other than f4. He needs it. Ff2 I'd agree, and d1+2.
u need to stop saying heihachis heatsmash is fair cause is not, it crushes highs, 15 frames, tracks nicely to one side and u need to time it really well to the other and leads to a straight up 50/50 THAT'S NOT FAIR, the character isnt even bad
The stance SUCKS, either a power crush or a strong parry or a high crushing hopkick can negate it. Even if I delay it, so can the opponent's defensive measures.

It's not a straight up 50/50, it has a lot of option selects, and on 3 of the moves from stance, if you guess correctly, you launch him for it. I started not going into stance after heat smash sometimes just so I can keep up my offence and risk less.
But it has dogshit range and the 50/50 has interesting risk management considering the guard break only leads to a flash punch which doesnt do that much damage (unless you are at the wall which makes the decision making even more interesting) and the hidden thunder god fist does good damage but is unsafe iirc. Even if you disagree with me on its fairness I think its still reductionist to ignore all the cool parts about it.

Make people choose between popping Heat or using a Rage Art. Having both "get out of jail free" options available every round is too much.
Just make every mid heatsmash -7 on block, so yoshi wont flash. And make every heatburst not 3meter long homing tool(like bryans, dragunovs etc.)
Why do characters immediately go into stance mixup with plus frames when you block their heat smash?? Easily the dumbest addition to this game giving people even more advantage when they just were in heat and used its strongest attack which they know ENDS HEAT why are we giving people two chances when they pop heat smash????

Kaz gets better damage and his is cancelable, you can fake it into his WS in which he can than do Demon God Fist or Twin pistols and get even more damage, basically a 50/50 CH launcher. It's overall just a more superior move. It's mentally annoying when you get CH by D2 but Kazuyas D1+2 is definitely more deadly to get hit by
@@livingashtree1942 Jin's d2 has good tracking against Kazuya's d1+2 with 0 tracking, 22 dmg on hit vs d1+2 20 dmg, 22 frames fast vs 23 frames fast. The damage difference on counter hit isnt big enough to make d1+2 better
@@ZavaIT Kazuyas D1+2 on CH can easily lead into a 100 damage combo with heat plus it's cancellable faking it into his WS twin pistons or Demon God Fist and potentially leading into even greater damage.

Yeah, they introduced to store, but it's lame as hell. It's at least only slightly predatory, but there's basically nothing worth while. They could get a lot of milage if they just knew what to create and sell there, but they're failing to capitalize on the potential, especially when they could do it in a way that makes everyone happy.

I think rage art should consume all your heat or if you uee a heat smash you lose the ability to rage art.
Right now there are far too many comeback mechanics. Heat itself is a comeback mechanic as it is a buffed version of your character and heat smashes do absurd damage.
You shoulsnt have rhe ability to throw a rage art do mad damage then have the ability to activate heat as well, use your heat smash then wjn the game.

With heat, Tekken 8 should take notes from BlazBlue: Centralfictions overdrive mechanic
You pop overdrive, and you get a short window of invunerability, followed with 4-8 seconds (depending on hp, halved if you cancel into it) of an enhanced mode where all your powers are tuned up, and you can do some insane stuff, or do a overdrive accel which effectively a reversal super that exits overdrive on use.
The ability to enter overdrive is also tied to your burst, which is a mechanic lets you interrupt combos as long as they're not blocking when you use it.
And if you use either, there's a long cooldown that doesn't reset between rounds meaning you'll get an average of like two uses every 3 rounds.
It's probably the best comeback mechanic in any fighting game imo. There's just so much nuance around it, and because it's such a strict resource, it allows characters to have some truly broken stuff behind it without it being unfair.
I think just describing the way it works in blazblue should let you see why heat should take notes from kt.

I would love Rage Art to be gone or the damage to be nerfed atleast. I just don't understand why players are rewarded for losing. The amount of times I caught people with my Rage Art while I'm losing only for them to lose 1/3 of their health and losing the round. Even I'm surprised myself how much damage it does. Then you have the issue if one or both is at a Rage Art state both players (myself included) don't risk attacking in fear of being hit by the RA. At that point it becomes a Dance Dance Revolution game where we are both trying to bait out each others RA.
And also the fact where you can gain your health back to mid point while having Rage Art active. I think when you go above the Rage Art health meter, you lose the Rage Art ability and can get it back once you've reach the Rage Art Trigger threshold. Also Power Crush has to go. Armored moves should never exist, it's stupid how players can spam that (myself included).
They could just make rage arts more punishment so lows, grabs and jab checking works against it and redesign the rage art to be a meter building mechanic so it's more rewarding to the player when winning and not giving when you lose. you would build up the meter by dealing damage to the opposing opponent and won't gain any meter if your taking damage yourself. Rage arts doing too much damage is an understatement compared to how much damage characters can do with heat. Rage arts only do 55 damage while a character can go above that threshold of damage especially since it deal less damage to an airborne opponent. Rage arts are good at being finishers if you don't have a wall, reach your combo limit, and to increase the dealt after low parrying so I don't think it's completely useless.
Leroy's Rage Art is massive ass. As a Leroy main, every time my rage art lands I don't even look at it lol
Maybe they could change the hitbox from 2004 cylinders into a proper hitbox? csgo had cylinders for hitboxes... back in 2012 :) glad we're evolving the technology, if you're gonna use a 20th century technology maybe make it correct, since it's already jank and put a maximum on the cylinder expansion when I press, makes no sense.

Look, from a balancing standpoint, I hear you, but no one gives AF about Claudio, like there's a 98% chance he won't make it into the next game because like Shun'ei in KOFXIV, he didn't make enough of an impact, and technically he is now dead after he's sacrifice. They should send in another character design which is way cooler in my opinion from his clan or wherever he comes from because Harada promised he would have a bigger role in T8 but the dude is just not appealing, he had to be way more flashy and cooler like a KOF character but he's not.

Honestly i wish RA were a build up meter type tjing instead of guaranteed every round, because, some matches you can end up watching 4 or 5 movies and it gets incredibly dull... if you are getting your ass destroyed, you shouldnt have access to a "steal the round" button for free

@@cahweh should be punishable at least. 90% of the attempts to step it ends in ff2 hitting anyway. You can also heatdash out of it so making it minus 10-12 with little pushback should be fine. I'd prefer it losing the tracking capabilities but that could be too much for many.
The only issue I have with kazuyas is D1+2 giving a full launch on counterhit (better than Jin's d2 imo) and insanely strong heat
