OMG! There no more barriers for me to knit fair isle ! Stephen, you opened my eyes and doors to more knitting projects for me 😆😍 thank you so so so very much!
If working two tails you could weave one color over one stitch and then next color over the next stitch. So each end would be woven every other stitch.
Yep works great and no bulk. I recently did this with a bulky yarn and stranded colorwork to weave in ends. I was going to post this suggestion as well.
I am endlessly impressed with your ingenuity and the way you can break yarn with your bare hands like it's nothing lol! I will definitely be using this technique!
My mind is blown. I've knit for YEARS but never knew this little trick. Thank you so much for this video! I feel like this is going to make my knitting so much easier from now on, and now I won't shy away from colorwork!
I tried the double Weavin' Stephen today on a garter stitch project knit in fingering-weight yarn. It felt a bit fiddly at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. It's practically invisible and feels very secure. So glad to have learned about this technique. Thank you, Stephen.
Wow, I have been knitting for around 35 years and never knew this. I will be trying this on my next knitted baby garment. Thank you so much for sharing this trick 🤩
I simply love this technique, I am New to stranded knitting and I will for sure enjoy working with colors much more, because I won’t need to think about all the weave that has to be done at the end! Thank you for sharing it! ❤️🙏🏼🙌🏾🤩
Should have read the comments. Used the technique with one strand and dropping the other to weave in on the next row. DON'T, it will leave a hole which that you'll need to close. My suggestion is to weave in a couple of stitches with both ends before dropping one to weave on the next row or to alternate ends as mentioned by Debbie below. I wove in with double ends on the next sock and didn't have an issue with bulk. I knit socks two at a time with magic loop. Great technique and hoping that it holds up to the wear and tear of socks. it just might be the game-changer for me to give up using the double knot join. Spit joins are always the way to go with 100% animal non-superwash fibers. Thank you, Stephen!!!
I have just tried this amazing technique part way through a cardigan I am making. Your method looks so much neater.I will be using this method on as many things as I can. Game changer.
🧶 You are a genius! There are things I’ve wanted to make but didn’t because of all the color changes and I detest weaving in ends! A million Thank You’s!!!
Been hearing about the weavin steven from so many vloggers I just had to see what it was. Boy is this a game changer!! Love this! thank you for sharing this method
Very cool! It seems like whip stitching the tail as you go. Yes? 🤗 In any case, I've just given it a go at the initial cast on. Will try again for the next 2 colors. 🙏🏻😊
Hello Steven. Great and such a useful idea. It looks great. Thank you for this instructive video, too. I always work over my yarn tails to trap them as I go but it is not like this. Next time I need to do this I will use your Weavin' Stephen method.
I wish!... Ive almost finished a striped polo shirt. OMG after many hours I've completed weaving in the ends. Now to finish and knit the collar. If only I'd found this video a month ago!
OMG! There no more barriers for me to knit fair isle ! Stephen, you opened my eyes and doors to more knitting projects for me 😆😍 thank you so so so very much!
I'm a knitter for more than 60 years but didn't know this way to change the yarn/colour. That's great - thanks a lot for this idea😊❤
