Just so you know I watched this video years ago, did online classes with them (covid but the classes where 110% worth it) opened my 1st shop a year ago and about to open a 2nd one
Oh that's great to hear! Can you DM the shop on Instagram?
I’m so glad a school like this exists!
Just told my husband about the classes (he’s a chef) and he said let’s go! Woohoo, it would awesome to do it!!
+Ashley Ashley awesome! Many couples come recently
That shot on the tare recipes was gold! I think a lot of people will go back to that moment of the video and copy these recipes :)
+Nama Japan I hope they try!
@Watusi Yu And?
@Watusi Yu Ajinomoto is used like salt and pepper here. Japanese don't subscribe to the "OH NO! MSG IS GONNA KILL YOU!" propaganda
the msg scare is just a myth created back in the 70s when people reported getting sick from chinese restaurants. naturally they demonized msg because it was a foreign ingredient. yet msg occurs naturally in various vegetables and meats just like salt and is used conservatively as an umami/flavor enhancer
What is Nikiri sake? Is that like cooking sake?
Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Now I have to seriously debate adding more time to my Japan trip to do the three day course. I like that translation and the opportunity to serve Ramen to customers in Japan is included. You get the experience and the craft to build on your ramen making base all in one. Great share, Brian!
+Bryan Crisp hope you can make it
+Bryan Crisp my pleasure
I would love to attend one of these classes
The school has upcoming 10-day and 3-day classes starting on: 4/13, 5/18, 6/15, 7/6, 8/3
Please mail ramenamerican@gmail.com about it!
Ramen Adventures damn think I want to make one of these classes!
DAYUM DOOD THIS 1080P HD IS CRISP AND CLEAN
+micalob ultra i shoot with a Fuji xt20. Looks great I think.
Great video. Hope to take that class one day!
I hope soon to learn how to make ramen in any different styles.
Hey Brian, I bought your book. Started making the traditional shoyu recipe today. Excited! Wish I could go to this ramen school too.
+Matt McManiac thank you so much!!!
I love these videos
I really need to do this course. Would love to serve ramen in Australia.
1:40
James Brown made it all the way to Japan. I’m black and I’m proud.
I’m glad I aint the only one who noticed
Even jiraigen knows you gotta PAY BACK dues
Time to go to school!
this looks like some real hard work! really imrepssive
Tokyo is seriously one of the best places in the world i enjoyed every second there!
thanks for sharing this with us really enjoyed watching this.
P.s. i have just been to japan, if ever you are interested in watching my videos :)
Seems really cool to learn deeply how to cook the perfect ramen. Also it's a good occasion to wander out of Tokyo !
Great video! I'd love to get over there sometime
Simply wow greetings from Puerto Rico, big fan of your videos.
+xanderz_pr appreciate it!
+xanderz_pr thank you!
Hoping to take part in a class next visit or so!
+Rafael De Leon hope to see you there
Hi! For tonkatsu you're supposed to cook the broth for like 12 hours. How would one do that at home and go to work or sleep? Can I split up the cooking time, like 3 hours before work, shut the stove off and leave it it there, then start it up again when I come home? I'd also be wary of leaving the stove on when sleeping. Thanks!
+Lenny Pearl there are some tricks to aerate the soup that some home cooks use, like hitting it with a blender.
@@ramenadventure I decided to try splitting the time and it actually worked! 8 hours in the evening, then shut it off and started it up again in the morning for 4-1/2 hours. The broth is now in the fridge and really gelatinous - almost solid! So I think it worked :-)
12 hours is insanely unnecessary. A 4 hour strong boil. Keep in mind that the more u extract, the more broth u make so if u shorten the time u shorten the amount of broth u have ( at least with the right consistency)
Want to do this in 2019.... Will be in touch.
+Zachary Maywood looking forward to hearing from you
+Zachary Maywood looking forward to it
Hi Brian, thank you for making this video. It would be awesome to visit this course. I will definatly keep it in mind. If we visit Tokio I will contact you to help me set up a date to visit the ramen school. I am looking forward to it. Till then I have to live with the ramen you can get in Germany 😥
+Sim Fro thanks! The class will be waiting for you
+Sim Fro absolutely. Contact me anytime
Thank you will do. But it will take time. As soon as I have a time for the trip I will contact you. I am looking forward to it.
4:44 - What is that? I've been trying to identify that for years now.
hey can I please know what is nikiri sake?
Nice two pots of gold
Travel buddies for this course ? So down ! 💪🏾 I have watched nothing more than Ramen videos on YT since discovering Strictly Dumpling (Mikey Chen). I wish we could post pics here. I even made my own Tonkotsu ramen, thanks to my local Asian mart. So good and it was my first time. It even had me making just the eggs as a snack here and there lol.
I've been to Japan 5 times and can't wait until the world is normal so we can travel again. If you haven't gotten the chance to go yet i cannot recommend it enough.
Let's go. I'm planning to go there in October 2023
Hey bro can you teach me what you learned from over there?
+@DJChorizo928 you should join a class!
wowww looks great
How much is the class
Hi How much the master course is it every month?
It’s 400,000 yen for the 10 day master class.
Thank you so much for this video!
I would love to go to ramen school omg
So when they preboil all the stuff, they throw away the water and fill up new pot to throw now preboiled heads and bones?
+Jure Prinčič yup
General question about ramen schools, do they tend to do classes year long or only seasonal? Also, how important is it to be a well versed general cook vs a novice cook interested in ramen?
+joy12division almost every month of the year. I’d say the mix of students is 50/50 chefs vs amateur. In general ramen isn’t technically difficult
i would like to go for this course but i don't speak any Japanese will they teach in English?
+Diane Saimon yes! Classes are taught in English
What is the cost of these courses
Any idea did the guys open the shop in Lisbon Brian? Whats it called?
+c02615223 Ajitama. I believe they opened recently. Ajitamapt on Instagram.
What's the ratio for tonkotsu tare and broth?
10 to 1
If Ramen schools wouldn't all be booked out this couldbe interessting.
+bento256 this one isually has a few spots open. Best to sign up a few months early, but many have joined last minute
I’d love to take a full course. My ramen game is amateur at best
+Kameman kick it up to the next level
Can you use a pressure cooker just to soften those bones?
+ダビッド百合 yep!
@@ramenadventure thanks bro
I see they have a 1 day course how much does it cost?
+Connor Wilgrove at this time the 1day class is 35,000 yen
@@ramenadventure takai
Sugoi! Wow, so interesting and I would love to take that class! Of course I have to be in Japan, lol. 👍👍👍❤❤❤
Can you freeze the broth
So how much is the 12 day course, in US dollars?
+jimaiko1 around $4000. Send me an email for details.
amazing
Thank you for the copy of tare
I used to live in near machida...where exactly is the location of the school?
+Prince Nuyda a few stops away in Fuchinobe
@@ramenadventure ok ...few steps away from fuchinobe station? By the way I am from sagamihara
+Prince Nuyda it’s a short bus ride away.
+Prince Nuyda I think if you search for Rakuju on google maps it pops up. It’s about 2km I think.
Hey Brian, great video as always!
I wonder if you have tried some halal ramen in Japan? I want to know your opinion on it
Honest question because I don't know, would halal require anything that might restrict standard Chicken or Beef ramen styles from essentially being the same thing with verification? At least in my part of the US a lot of food get labeled kosher if they naturally have no forbidden components and my understanding is that they just get frequent inspections to confirm the process is still correct and otherwise make the same food they always did
The most basic thing about halal is that no pork and alcohol. If it's about the specific, for chicken and beef, you need to mention the God's name when slaughtering. Here's the detail about the slaughtering: halalcertification.ie/islamic-method-of-slaughtering/
For Brian, here's some halal ramen that I know: www.fellowscompany.jp/naritaya and facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1003468206508122&id=233231456865138&__xts__[0]=68.ARAAII9C4UHcnfexWKY0kcIZW7lm-w00YtSCdiBE3EK50a6vrQv8f_MWuZ9CrmE5QiElPdDd5ovqHQniciIaWLGsWKL6gFdBeUZd_IHOsWapYkhuSZKUY3r0KMO_cndNvXVnTa_6Oo6t3sw7CHjgHq7Qyy1Uue7OFsw0Twj1W_ccDb2VCg0yPm12B4u3TmYdrrCONBXa44dv4139467wGSR0Bak&__tn__=-R
+Reggie739 oka in Shinjuku is really great.
Has anyone with absolutely zero kitchen experience taken one of these classes?
+Albert C. Many people have. If you are planning to open a restaurant, of course it helps to know something about the industry. Hobby cooks, though, will have a great time.
+Albert C. Many have!
Crushed it!!!!!!!
Oh bro, I want some of that ramen👍🏾🤘🏾
Now I have a tough choice. Do I drive amazing sports cars around hakone again or come and do this course? 🤔
+Ad Rock you gat a real Sophie’s choice there!
The link to your recipe on “How to make ramen at home like a pro” is broken.

How much is the tuition fee
+dan delossantos it’s 220,000 yen for the 5 day course.
Thanks much.
The secret of delish tonk is the tare, not the soup.
+solarisdreams correct! The school teaches a great tonkotsu tare, both non MSG and low MSG.
how much this course?
+smart control currently the 10-day class is 400,000 yen and the 3-day is 200,000 yen.
got translated chinese?
なになになに?こんなスゲーーースクールが町田にあるの?ワオ🎵
+kadoya24 町田最高!
Can u tell me more info how take the class bcoz I'm interested..
No
The instructor looks like Mr. Miyogi.
This is awesome but I am not sure how one would just have over 3000 dollars just laying around. And that doesn't even count the cost of the trip. So yeah expensive but if your living in Japan for a year or two then maybe that cost isn't too bad. But too expensive for a trip.
30L,10L?!?! How many total servings does therecipe make?
+박재곤 we make enough for about 50 bowls
thanks!!
박재곤 that’s not really important. It’s just basic math.
Good video~!! 뭐라고하는지 알고싶다
Got to the brain bits and thought....nah.
No wonder it's so rich and creamy it has pork brains, bone marrow, and pork eyes. Those are filled with so much umami.
+VanJosh_Elanium 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
where is the actual course? It's just you eating ramen and a few snapshots and intro's.
Well if he filmed the course no one would have to attend it anymore...
Why do u look like nonstopdan
+Jaden Khoo Hou Kit because I eat ramen nonstop!
No MSG? Oh... what a disappointment 😆
+Abraham Armada they teach both styles, as well as theory behind MSG and how to balance it
@@ramenadventureCool!

+slaiyfershin secret to good soup

+Mike Coff thanks anyways
