Skilling rebalancing from a profitability standpoint is, in my opinion, extremely necessary. Non-combat skills make up 20/29 of the skills in the game, yet combat is overwhelmingly the best way to make money. Like, it’s not even remotely comparable.
I'd LOVE more super rare items like the Masterwork Spear of Annihilation via dungeoneering - a rare set of items you can get whilst skilling that aren't tradeable until you get the set / craft something with a high relevant skilling level is the best way to keep prices for those kinds of items high if they're actually good for combat or a great off-hand / cape / helmet etc.
It makes logical sense though. Prices are market-driven. The reason pvm gear is expensive is because of the skill requirement. The shard of Genesis is difficult to get both in terms of skill and luck, therefore it's expensive. Skilling, on the other hand, has a very low barrier to entry. I'm curious to see how they intend to address skilling profitability. The only method I can think of is to limit accessibility somehow. Btw, if skillers make more money, they will bid against each other for pvm gear that they can't get themselves, and the money will go back to pvm'ers anyways

There has been a video released answering some of the questions Protoxx makes here: - Combat Mastery Achievements. Yes Grandmaster is above Elite, but there is a Master inbetween. - Some of the challenges will be timed kills (less time to kill as the achievement tier goes up). Kill all Godwars bosses without banking etc etc. (They're still working on whats going to be included, but I wouldn't think about challenges already existing in the game right now as being as far as they'll go). - Yes there will be an item you can wear to show of the achievement tier you have completed up to.
I love the combat achievs in osrs and hope they use the same structure of it being point based so if you've only got some of the easy ones done but also some grandmasters you can unlock the reward tiers.
I'd love something similar to what Path of Exile introduced this season - a piece of content where you build a town the way you want, and they can function for specific means. Like imagine if you could re-build Burgh de Rott into an actual town again rather than being the broken down decrepit town that it currently is - you hire nurses, mercenaries, workers and they can do things in and around your town or even beyond if you get to a high enough point to hire a mage to handle a teleporter to send your mercenaries/workers to other areas of RuneScape.
Thsi video randomly popped into my feed after years of no runescape content and being out of the game for at least 2 years. Seriously considering jumping back in. Any recommendations for what to look for to catch up?
Protoxx why do you dislike skilling being profitable? There are a lot of people like me that dislike bossing, so I welcome skilling being more profitable.
Personally, i think the weapons you can craft using Fletching or Runecrafting should not be augmentable... unless they are masterwork weapons. So far the weapons and armour we made using smithing could not be augmented. Even Primal armour, which a lot of people complained about. But the Masterwork armour could be augmented because it forces you to do combat. If you want to upgrade it to Trimmed Masterwork you need the Praesulic and Malevolent essences.. which forces you to kill Nex and ROTS. Combat is involved in the crafting of the armour. Ditto now with the MW 2Handed sword. You need the essences from the KK and the Twins. If they continue this trend with the Fletching and later Runecrafting armour/weapons it would be in line with the other weapons/armour; If no combat is involved.. you can't augment it. But a Masterwork Bow that requires essences from Greg and QBD for example... you can augment that one.
First guess of area expansion based on the little blurb they gave: Eastern Lands expansion to the Skull region (maybe more?) 2nd guess is Zeah, but that's a loooong stretch. RS3 and OSRS continuing their one-uping each other through their own renditions of content and themes, and I'm loving it.
Skill rebalancing needs to happen if it incorporates changes to crafting (armour and weapons) fletching (same) along the lines of the rebalancing that occurred with the mining & smithing rework. This would be really important for irons, especially with the release of GIM later this year. It's kind of stupid how crafting levels for example don't have any connection to the levels required to wield/wear certain pieces of gear. Given the age of the game, some kind of bloat reduction would also be beneficial. I also don't have that much of a problem with certain items being removed from boss drop tables. While I am not a skiller, it has always felt a little unfair in my view that things were structured the way they are. That's not to say bosses shouldn't drop certain items, just that a reduction won't be a bad thing. What I think would be cool is a new suite of tokens (for want of a better word) that disassemble only (no alching) to certain comps or that could be utilized in some other way to make perking gear less frustrating. Those would sell well and not get in the way of the skillers. They could be a requirement for new BiS perks along with already existing comps.
Remove all common drops from the drop table, focus on moving those items to slayer mobs to offset bossing profitability. Reigniting the profiting from slayer, In turn pushing the cost of materials up, and can push the profitability of skilling up as well. Make bosses have BLM and increase drop rates to offset the GP per hour loss from moving commons to slayer. Boom problem fixed.
This does nothing but promote the idea of botting monsters with little to no mechanics for drops you’d get for actively killing bosses that are much trickier to bot for basically the same profit per hour bar the rares obviously. In turn you’re increasing the rate drops from bosses which makes the appeal to actually do then so much higher than actually slaying
Skillers should always need items from PVM and PVM should always need items from skillers. Seeds into potions is an excellent example of this. Now that people are mining again to get to 110 primal stone spirits are also a good example. Cleaning up drop tables of fish, logs, energy, rune essence, arrow/arrowheads, gems, and herbs would strengthen that relationship. But also adding in skilling boons. Magic notepaper, portents, parts and charges for training the GATHERING skills and not the artisan ones. Artisan or gathering items should only be dropped from monsters if there is a lore reason.

IMO bosses should be an investment with rng risk for their rarest drop, not a consistent 30m/hour AND you get a 1B drop sometimes. Whilst skilling should be the low risk consistent money makers. Bossing giving lower gp/h consistently but still giving the big drops will raise the big drop prices, sure, but that is why the player took the risk and invested their time. E.G. My guess with the 110 runecrafting weapon is that it'd be a magic masterwork weapon and then crafting would be crafting masterwork range and mage armour. They said fletching would make a masterwork range weapon.
I'm mostly looking forward to the expanding skilling levels. Like they've just done for Mining/Smithing and what we see coming up with Woodcutting/Fletching and Runecrafting. I am very much looking forward for whatever they do with Fishing/Cooking as Fishing has had a special place for me for literally over a decade now :)

Also if gear is getting powercrept again, we really do need harder content or endgame is going to feel pretty easy.
This has me more tempted to return to the game (haven't played since February) than anything else I've seen while I've been away from it. I'll have to have a hard think on whether or not all of this is worth my time and money.
The new masterwork bow and magic weapons that will come will be augmentable. U can see on the wiki that the melee version of the 2h sword is also augmentable
Jagex is cooking up some good content for RS3. I like what they're showing, and I plan on taking every bit of content as it all seems cool to me. Thanks for the vid
I wish Jagex dropped a future bombshell update, Ive been hatching and waiting for it long, I got almost 5,2biljon xp on my main account , I wish they expanded the xp cap of 200m to unlimited and if they remove MTX and MTX items forever the highscores could be a thing again.
Im a returning played and it has been very difficult coming back. Theres so much new content that require you to know other newer content to understand. Some of the guides are seemingly outdated or if they contain "new player/beginner guide". Then spout out 25 things in the beginning that a new player would absolutely not know. I just had to rant seeing a vid about RS3 being "back". Coming back has been like returning to school with a substitute teacher or professor that usually teaches advanced classes; when its supposed to be an introductory class.
Maybe just weapons for now and maybe armour when 110 crafting come out. There no craft able armour for certain level in range and magic. I think the only new tree will be the t70 and t100. as magic is now t80. As Acadia tree is t50 unless they changing it and adding new t50 tree or making Acadia t50 bow. Likely t100 is a component who knows or they skip t90 hatchet. Or day upgrade we can upgrade. Cause archeological had no t90 matlock it just skip it. Who know

I think the skilling rebalance they were talking about was in the context of "there is basically no good skilling money making methods in game" Like at 99 fishing the best thing you can do is catch jellyfish at roughly 3m/h. This has me more tempted to return to the game (haven't played since February) than anything else I've seen while I've been away from it. I'll have to have a hard think on whether or not all of this is worth my time and money.
no way the actual level 110 rc needed for double laws? pretty pog
Amen brother! The glory of this age will greater then the glory of the past, that our OSRS brothers love so much!
I just hope 1 of the desert quests will be grandmaster, osrs dt2 was an absolute blast
You may want to re-read the roadmap. The Finale quest might as well be GM.
I'll keep it short... Jagex really listened. AWESOME!
The new masterwork bow and magic weapons that will come will be augmentable. U can see on the wiki that the melee version of the 2h sword is also augmentable
Hoping the combat achievements are feats and not tied to trim/comp
Jagex is cooking up some good content for RS3. I like what they're showing, and I plan on taking every bit of content as it all seems cool to me. Thanks for the vid
2:49 Ode of the devourer has not been released yet, as far as i know
2025 say hello to the graphically remastered Zeah and Great Kourend
I love how we now kinda share content between both games.
Seems a lot like they want to make Rs3 and OSRS more similar in terms of content.
Yayyy, we are getting content!
I wish Jagex dropped a future bombshell update, Ive been hatching and waiting for it long, I got almost 5,2biljon xp on my main account , I wish they expanded the xp cap of 200m to unlimited and if they remove MTX and MTX items forever the highscores could be a thing again.
We won't rest till sailing comes.
Ah was realy hoping on some good news from the MTX poll.
110 rc, I wonder if that brings new spells and runes or just weapon/gear
Maybe just weapons for now and maybe armour when 110 crafting come out. There no craft able armour for certain level in range and magic. I think the only new tree will be the t70 and t100. as magic is now t80. As Acadia tree is t50 unless they changing it and adding new t50 tree or making Acadia t50 bow. Likely t100 is a component who knows or they skip t90 hatchet. Or day upgrade we can upgrade. Cause archeological had no t90 matlock it just skip it. Who know
I don't see any problem in nerfing boss common loot, as a pvmer myself I can make 150m/hr
There isn't any skilling method that gets even half of that
Skilling for money used to be a very solid option, not as much nowadays
Yeah skilling is veeeery limited. One of the best is weapon poison ++ and that tideous and makes you like 20-30mil/h
so was pvp but here we are
skilling sucks anyway, just filler "content"
what boss is making you 150m/hr? I'm still hunting a arch glacor core 500 kills in so my only good gp is ed1 at 50m/hr
I wonder if there are people out there who don't grab a cup of tea for Protoxx's videos.
I don't. I have a career and work often, when I'm watching some of the videos via on phone when I'm able too, I don't have time to fetch a pot of tea to sip at comfort as a lot of jobless people do. I get it, working is not for everybody, but some people do have careers and real life accomplishments and goals, other then sitting back, relaxing, and sipping tea. Now watch how many jobless and offended people respond to my comment. Just wait.
Me. I can't drink tea or I get an oculair migraine. But I usually grab a cup of coffee 😅
@@heavyiron3572 You can grab a Liptons and a paper cup. That xp waste of a career doesn't have you thinking outside the box, does it? 😝
Will the combat achievements be required for trimmed completionist?
Solid road map honestly imo they should work on making everything 110 then 120 then 130 then 140 then 150 thennnnn maybe bump the max exp to 300 mil. Honestly they could make that last like another whole decade lol
Finally, very excited for everything.
*FINALLY,* the fourth conjure is bestowed on us! I wonder what its command action will be... 😏
*EDIT:* The Phantom Guardian absorbs some of the damage you'll take while it's active. Command Phantom Guardian will turn absorbed damage back onto your target. Interesting...
as someone coming back to rs3 on a new char, im sure there's more than just me waiting for a new early game video
New player/returning player guide on wiki is better
killling hardmode General Graardor full range
Runescape always been back :3
Me hopes the new continent is the Wushanko Isles/Eastern Lands.
yeah I agree - eastern lands could be done really well if they change it from purely a BiS skilling method location.
It's deffo the eastern lands. But for some reason they used the Zeah map.
@@Kranon I will wait and see.
with love from OSRS
genuinely wish RS3 the best so I can play it when OSRS is in a lull period
I think the skilling rebalance they were talking about was in the context of "there is basically no good skilling money making methods in game" Like at 99 fishing the best thing you can do is catch jellyfish at roughly 3m/h. The rebalance is about that, trying to give profitability to skills that should have it but lack it. Only ironic they try something like this when the new mining is under 4m/h after only 4 days.
@@Holothewolfx Masterworks are the way. Maybe a fishing tool that requires scraps to be fished at various levels, which needs to be used to fish level 99 whales. Something along these lines.
@@belandino Yes masterwork smithing is the one of like two exceptions along with rune crafting. But most all skills don't have a profitable method. Cooking, woodcutting, fishing, mining, etc all have low money makers per hour or 1-2 passable ones.
hello from Chile Protoxx !!
👋🏻 ayy
Basic base building. Good one.
Just hope Skilling rebalance won't be like they rebalanced combat XP before necromancy
Runecrafting to 110 is my actual hell
DESERT THEMED CONTENT!!🥰❤️😍 YESSSSSSSS
dunno about you guys but it's been an emotional rollercoaster with being so disappointed at the game earlier this year to now being super excited. i think they've redeemed themselves, good job jagex
Ngl I'm still disappointed lol, my time to quit is nearing
@@digiac4027 Then just quit? I dont understand you guys who are fed up with a game but continue to play it. There's more to play, ykno? And Runescape will always come back in your life at some point. Take a break, play something else, you're never too invested into something to try something new.
All i can say is CELESTIAL GOD WARS hype!
None of those update will revive RS3 but kudos to Jagex for continuing to try.
@@khaledrobaidi2037 They will definitely revive the game
Masterwork Crossbow incoming!
hopefully the new area is kourend !
Do we have any updates on the group ironman release date?
Basically the same as every year's map, that's why I got so discouraged from the game and stopped. But apart from all that, let's see this new boss can cheer me up again. Hopefully they don't cancel half of this road map or delay it until April 2026, like they do every year. lol
I think the skilling update and the boss drops rebalance would be very good for the games economy and help skillers want to stay in the game tbh
Valamore and the collosseum in RS3 Lfgggggg
no herb drops from bosses? that sounds dumb, i mean if they made it where it's seeds instead i understand.
I hope the area expansion is Zeah
So we fighting Amascut huh? Interesting.
Oh boy time to grind crafting and rc
THIS WAS ALL THEY HAD TO DO TO MAKE PEOPLE NOT MAD AT THEM. Thank you jagex for providing a map of things to be excited about. I am glad they didnt save 110 runecrafting for last, Ironman upkeep for necromancy runes is HORRIBLE. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE LEFT CLICK TELEPORT OPTIONS CUSTOMIZABLE. Bracelet 1st tele is so useless it makes putting the RC one as second look REALLY dumb.
Runescape peaked with mod osbourne and mod mark as the figure heads. Still play and will forever love the game, just not the same
@@teengohanss7 mod mark still works there, just not in the spotlight as much.
Mod Osbourne sadly left a while ago
thats very nice=)
There doesn’t need to be a whole new area of expansion when half the map is under-utilised already with so many dead areas. Would love for them to just redo one of those areas and give it some life. Skilling should profitable but not more so than pvm.
Whos taking bets on the release of Black H'ween mask this year.🤔
Man I have been wanting to play again and I feel like now I have a reason.
Wait until december. Let the juicy content pile up and play through it on winter break :)
This would be cheaper, and you get the chance to upgrade to a yearly membership if the upcoming content takes your fancy.
Last year they said black party hats will be back pretty much yearly and they don’t want more items like the og party hats
It's only inevitable that they will bring back the original partyhats thanks to this stupid legacy cosmetics system they have which is devaluing older players more and more every year.
Wowwwww ….3 quests, a Xmas event than happens every year, and a conjure we’ve known about for ages, and big wooo 110 crafting … .
Go play old school loser.
Hello protoxx thanks again 😃 its mostly thanks to you creators that our game stays alive! 🎉🎉
Entirely*
A very cool-looking skillingboss releasing on my birthday? Guess there won't be a party, that would be xp waste
Still no inverted capes 😭
