I’m a RuneScape lore nerd. This video was incredible. I’d love to see it as a series divided by the ages. There’s only 1 other channel who’s done it and it’s decades old and terrible quality. But it’s very detailed so good source material

Guthix is not a god of favorites. Seren is the second most powerful god around tied with Zaros and Guthix. Just by being near mortals she passively enslaves them and there is nary a thing she can do about it. She is one of the most balance upsetting forces around and can not be left. She had a choice to sleep with him but rejected it, she can’t just let mortals live their lives she feels compelled to show extreme bias and interference in the elves lives even before she soul bound them to her. No matter how well-meaning her intention she is just too powerful and proven to be unable to stop herself from meddling. She has said it before again abs again Guthix was right to remove the gods, and breaking herself the only way to align with that and not screw over the elves even more.
Charlie - This was absolutely fantastic! What an excellent summary of Gielinor's lore before our character's arrival. Thank you so much for bringing this to the RS community :D.

That was so cool to listen in to, hearing how Zuk and Torva actually had a duel in the duel arena is just mindblowing, haha. Thank you for this video and the work you put in, I can see myself rewatching this multiple times over. I'd very much like a similar video covering the 5th and 6th age as well! :D I bet those would be crazy video project as well tho xD

Absolutely fantastic video! I’d love to see more videos in this style. Amazing editing and storytelling! Exploring some of the differences in the lore between Old School and RS3’s canon might bring in some OSRS players too!
I’ve been doing quests in order of timeline and have really started to appreciate the world around me. The problem is, I did about a third of the quests as a kid and didn’t care a lick about them. So, even though I doing the majority of them now, I kind of “missed” the first part of each series. This helped me immensely. I have a much better picture of what’s going on now! I just finished temple at Senntisten and had no idea who Zaros was. I do now though. Archeology also means way more now that I know about the ancient cities. I always wondered why there were a bunch of saradominist ruins in Morytania. Anyway, thanks so much!!

Woah, this is awesome! I just started playing RS3 for the quests, and have been going by Timeline because I'm interested in the stories/lore. My only memory of Runescape "lore" is TehNoobShow's "Gods Exposed" series which is definitely not canon 😆

Really love the history summary! I'm surprised by how spoiler free you managed to make it with regards to quest lore. Small nitpick, Yu Biusk isn't Bandos homeworld and wasn't "hellish" before. Bandos arrived on the lush and peaceful world and made it hellish and wartorn. In addition to Torva, Zuk also battled Bandos but lost.
So, i am going to watch the follow-up video on events after we arrive so it may be addressed there, but how did wintertodt come about? It seems like something that likely appeared shortly before player arrival. Im probably very wrong about my assumptions so dont flame me too harshly in my thread. I havent played rs3 and dont go actively looking for lore in osrs. Videos like these are my desired medium of choise for lore dissemination

But this comment is another sign that maybe people would like to see old school RuneScape lore videos as well?
@@CharlieScape i certainly would love more osrs lore. Wintertodt, Yanille, Zogres, Zeah, so many areas that dont get covered by direct major event storytelling like yours. Alien Foods is covering minor lore points in his Unguided series, but i think a loremaster like yourself would make for a great series covering some of the more outreaching aspects of Gileinor's history

Right at the start... no mention of the Elder Gods creating Gielnor as their resting place, and the Elves who came from Tardidadd, didn't just appear, rhey were bought. Source - The quest Within the Light, and the quest series Elder God Wars
I think the script of this video was at least partially written by AI, many times he just says the same thing multiple times in a row but worded differently each time. He also seems to use a lot of the same descriptors repeatedly, as well as AI art at multiple points in the video. So, it’s not surprising some important details are missing
I just wish Jagex would finally let us do some good in the quests instead of always being the idiot who makes things worse or that just helplessly watches as we get tricked & the enemy just leaves with insane artifacts like the stone of Jas or the needle. It just sucks that you're supposed to be the "world guardian" but everytime a major event happens you're relegated to the "world's biggest fool".

Ive seen , read and discussed all lore in the game before i quit but I'll never get tired of lore videos
Honestly I still think Guthix banishing Seren was the dumbest lore point. She didn't do anything wrong and he just made things worse by doing it.
