To me the most important one was when the job makes your life unpleasant. I don't want to work for a company that expects me to stay late without warning or having me on call. Or expecting me to do more work because they don't want to hire enough workers to split the work into manageable roles.
Nobody does. My company is currently "selling" our additional tasks as "skill building," creating "super agents" without any benefit to us in compensation, better schedules, or additional resources. New CEO thinks he just has to replicate the process he used to drive growth at his last company. The rest of us wonder why he left if it was working out so well. Meantime, he's sowing a lot of discord in the ranks. The future, at least for me at this company, does not look good.
Was literally suffering from this syndrome, would abruptly break sleep and wake up in the middle of night 2-3 am, that i have work to finish. Been sleeping well and happy since I quit. If you're waiting for friday on Monday mornings. It's time to switch.
More like wake up in the middle of the night having a nightmare of work lmao 😂 it always would make me laugh when I would wake up like that. I legit even lose sleep as well, like lying awake all night

You are so right!! I just quit a small company (for this reason) and gave them 5 weeks notice (was guilted into giving that but still) and I know I never want to work for a small company again. There's 8 executives and 7 workers.
I swallowed my pride and handed in my resignation letter after putting up with my work for 3 months, my team were full of complainers, The manager avoided me like a plague, never started a conversation with me. But she always wanted the job to be done on the same day, which sometimes forced me to work overtime unpaid. My senior coworker was also toxic, always talking about me behind my back. I was sick for few days due to work stress and anxiety. Don't force yourself to stay on a shitty job you don't like! Good luck for those who are planning to resign!
A seventh: the new boss doesn't like you. Seriously. The single time I was fired in my long career was due to thinking I could outlast a new boss who had no morals, had taken the position by destroying our previous boss, and was paranoid that I was after the job. She ultimately fired EVERY person at my level and filled the place with entry levels who were her friends. Then she was fired for immoral behavior at work. The second time I felt those winds, I bolted. Don't try to stay.
yup..this happens to me..new boss didn't like me and she fired me..I have worked for the company for 2 years 4 month..and she wants to take new employee that she trust..worst is she given me PIP..now I quit and have to find new job
My first job was receptionist/admin. The basic salary for entry level in my country is about 200/300 dollars a month. I was promised 200 but started off with 100 on probation. It was to be increased to 200 after the 3 months but they only increased to 130 saying that they had to cut costs. This was a bummer since life in my city can be expensive. Over half of my earnings was spent on bus fare and lunch. Sometimes I'd have to choose between lunch or sanitary products. On top off it all, I was working 6 days a week, constantly burning out and I slowly fell into depression. To make matters worse, there was no chance of climbing up the ladder. Eventually I quit, without a plan, but just for the sake of sanity. I can say I'm so much happier even though I haven't yet found a good place. I was later told that they increased salary to 300 because after I left no one would accept the 130
I am looking for a new job so that I can leave my current one. What you said about just accepting a job because you're just so excited to have gotten a job was exactly what I did - so dumb. Next could you maybe make a video on how to quit your job gracefully? Like the do's and don'ts.
So true! I just spent a year in the wrong industry because the one I wanted to be in was crazy competitive. However, remember that you can leverage the experience you got in the naff job into experience for the better one. That was a large reason behind me finally getting a new role in that competitive industry.
I needed this! A great follow up to this video would be something about how/when to respectfully leave and how to carry out a job search while you're still working your current full-time job. Finding time during the work day to go on job interviews or to even follow up on applications I've submitted has been really challenging.
My problem is that I love my job, but it just doesn't pay enough. I can't go forward in life without finding a job that pays more. I'm just sad that I'll be losing a job I do love.
They say "If you find a job you love, you'll never work a day in your life." So really consider leaving a job you love. It is your happiness that matters most. You may struggle a little financially at times, but you will be happy doing something you love.
@@dshae2293 sort of. It's a tough balance. If you can't pay your bills or make a savings, then it is just as justifiable to leave. You work to make money, you make money to live, so if what you are doing isn't helping you live, then change.
@@bronsolo6941 I see what you mean. That is just part of the working world I guess. It would be nice to have a job you enjoy going to and getting paid well enough to live.
james graeber is a cool resource on the philosophy behind underpaying employees. so often it's because you love your job or because it truly makes a difference.. those jobs are their own reward, of course! :/ very stupid. as soon as i hear an interviewer talk about how i shouldn't be about the money, i'm like BYE FELICIA.
That's why I'm considering leaving my job too. Ingot hired to do 1 thing, but now they have us doing the role of like 4 people and they only gave me a 2% salary increase? I love this job but I have really big important short-term plans that require lots of savings and I'm being underpaid according to my industry standards(web designer) so I think I should go by next year.
Shifting goalposts are also indicative of discrimination. Look the people over who aren't having trouble meeting goals and see if they're more in the boss's comfort zone.
You're description of the first point that the job should not/does not have to be the most satisfying portion of your life is SO IMPORTANT to remember.
It's funny how many of these "red flags" are just normal parts of the working culture here in Japan xD Things like being expected to stay long or come in for uncompensated overtime, and of course getting drunk with coworkers at nomikai, are just business as usual here. I think there are good things about these cultural differences too, but Japan is infamous for its problems with karoshi (death by overworking) for a reason.
Asian country in general are quite behind in work ethics I would say. I am from Malaysia and the intrusive on boundaries, office politics, lack of respect for worker's health etc is very common it is almost normal.
If you can afford to quit (i mean not risking being homeless by doing so) please consider quitting. Depression can take a long time to recover from so please don't add any more burden to it. Take care xo
21minute I've quit two jobs because of depression but I made sure to understand what about that job was causing me most anxiety. After my first job I switched from brand management to graphic design (and from working alone in a cubicle to working at a startup with 10 people sharing my desk) and after the second job I decided to become a freelancer. There are still ups and downs but I feel like I have learnt so much not just professionally but also personally. In the beginning I sometimes felt that I only disliked my job because of my depression but once I moved I realized that the job that was making it worse. Best of luck with whatever you decide.
Have you thought about going part time? I don't know if it's doable but I went down to 3/4time because of my anxiety and feel much better. Yeah I took a pay cut and I had to convince my employer it was best for the both of us (which created more anxiety) but it worked out in the end.
First of, hi fellow blackjack!! I'm sorry you're feeling like this. I advice you to seek help about that depression, so you can asses more objectively if the job is making it worse, causing it, or something else entirely is happening to you and your job is just suffering the consequences, or a combination of all of these; besides, it can help you make whatever transition necesary less stressful and in a way that doesn't put you at risk (financialy or otherwise). This happened to me too, and with help I was able to isolate what I did and didn't like about my job and how that affected me, and I ended up quitting to pursue a different path. I wish you the best. Take care!
Oh yeah going part time is definitely a good move if you can do it, I agree. The other thing I suggest is to see if you can get FMLA protection for your job. Ask the doctor who if treating your depression if they can fill out the paperwork for you. That way when you miss days you won't get fired for excessive absences.
Good advice, thank you for sharing. I have been in a job for 15 years that I hated. I hung on to be able to lock in a pension. I now can pursue my other interest. Was it worth it? Not when my youth and health was compromised. Enjoy your youth and your best health.
My first post college job hit almost every one of these points but the friend point. I lasted 9 months before I finally put in my two weeks. My boss was controlling and had way too many one on one meetings (once per twice a week), the job was a massive bait and switch, and I wasn't learning anything. After I put in my two weeks my manager wanted me to document everything I did so the next person could come in. It took less than half a day to document everything, and Monday of my final week they already had my replacement and I was to train her. It took me two days to train her and I'm so glad I no longer work there. Now I'm at a company with better benefits, a better team, Constant chances to learn, and just all around better.
Bait and switch is so common! I hate that. And it bothers me that they dont list the salary or wage rate in the job posting description. That's just a way to get you into interview moving along the process, and then they figure you have gotten too far to back out when they reveal they're pay is crap.
I always look forward to TFD videos. As someone who is often very scared by new jobs, by money and by being assertive I am encouraged and challenged to be a better me. Thank you.
That would be a great idea. I don't know everything, but here is how I did it. Usually you can job search during the weekend or after coming home from work to fill out a application. If you are interviewing and you work day shift you would have to use your vacation or sick time if you have it. But if you work afternoons and nights, you can interview in the morning. That's how I did it. But that is if everything goes according to plan. I kept my sick days handy.
These are great signs it is time for a job change, however, let's be very objective here --- is it the company that you need to change or is it careers you need to change? Many times, if we are not challenged on the job, it could well be that we are in the wrong career. There is nothing wrong with going back to the drawing board to figure out what exactly it is we love to do and go for it.
100% agree with everything you've said! I've noticed in my own career every time one of these red flags do come up the job quickly goes down hill after.
I recommend reading 'women don't ask' for help on negotiating starting salary, raises, and other job needs such as different hours or more work from home time.
I have to be honest, as a millennial I am so disappointed and sad about the truth that we are all over qualified and under paid. Especially with those super fun student loans.. I see so many of my extremley qualified friends still struggling to make it by on a duel income, how are us single kids supposed to get by?? Millennials are known to be spoiled, but I don't think people realize the struggles that we go through in different ways =/
Cindy Luu I know where your coming from but luckily student loans can be paid off within 3-5 years. I think the main issue is not enough people know how to talk about their personal worth & economic value to hiring companies.
Cindy Luu I'm still studying atm actually on my second year. My course is a HR & Psychology degree which is mostly online based & the tuition is 4K a year. I took an care assistant job which pays slightly better then most retail jobs around £10-15 an hour depending on the client. This has really helped. I'm so thankful I took the health & social qualification alongside my normal high school exams. I'm paying per module.
Annalisa Murray wow that's great! Yeah I wish my schooling was that inexpensive but it's nowhere close to that. Even while making payments while in school it's still a lot =/
Cindy Luu not sure since i'm not american, but there's a possibility that you're not overqualified/underpaid, it's just that college fees are unreasonably high
This video could NOT have popped up in my "suggested" feed at a better time! I've hit several of these points in my current 9-5 and it's killing me!! BUT I am in the process of rebranding my photography business and I will be ready to go no later than the first of the year. So I'm just biding my time right now until I have all my ducks in a row and can go solo! Thanks for a great video!
I have just made the very hard decision of leaving my job and this video reminded me that I DEFINITELY made the right decision. Thank you for this. I love you all at TFD!
My unhealthy boundaries in my previous job were with my bosses. My first boss called me an idiot in front of everyone and made fun of me. The second wanted to be close friends but then acted harshly towards me once we were in the office saying things like I don’t deserve a job to the directors and generally being controlling of how I sit for example. I’m freelance now haha:)
My problem is always with workers that carry on private relationships at work, with me not being interested in the least to do the same. Then the attacks of females begins who attack me for whatever reason and all I ever do is my job. It is so fricking ridiculous I could laugh and cry at the same time. Any kind of guy that they already have had relationships with or they think they might have relationships with at work (and I swear that is all they talk about all day instead of talking about work) those are the guys these women watch like a Hawk. I innocently carry on a conversation it is like : Incoming, female here, female there, jealously alert. I swear if I could I would just tell them to stop behaving like Toddlers. To see those people just maybe do their work and leave their private lives out of the workplace would be a blessing.
I was fired very gracefully from being barista. He didn't yell or belittle me and this guy found me to be a weirdo he didn't like much. He said for the record I'd keep you and just have you replace the property broken. I will agree with you that most companies are not graceful about firing someone.
i was able to quit my job with grace but then again i was kinda detrimental i was practically getting begged to stay so i said yea ill stay for 25hr at least...no,see ya
Number 6 is every normal job I've done. But there should be two more- Number 7: there is no advancement unless someone leaves. This happens in smaller companies or larger ones where they are constantly bringing in new employees or employees from other locations. It shows lack of trust in the whole team or failure to properly train and evaluate people in that location in lower level positions. Number 8: you are locked into do tasks that anyone could do. I was in the tech support department at a local chain of stores. I wrote manuals and procedures to guide others in doing the jobs I was assigned so I could move into more technical things. Even after completing all of this work so that anyone could take over, I was told that "it would all need to be tested first but everyone was too busy" so I had to keep doing mind numbing work. I stayed working there an extra three months attempting to persuade my boss, but nothing changed. In the end I was in a job that lied to me about the tasks and potential for learning/advancement. I used the 1 month unpaid leave the company gives you after working there for 6 months(I had been there 9) to line up other work without quitting. Always try to have some money saved so you can live for a bit without worrying in-between jobs.
aggg17 girl, same! I had a potentially life long career at 21 y/o but I was so miserable. I was entering the accounting world, ended up basically being a data entry clerk. 😒
Biggest warning sign: seeing an HR person waiting in an office to see you, especially since the last time you saw anyone from HR was when you were hired.
Sh.., if it happens it happens, not loving the job, hanging on until I make Social Security, already older and I know how absolutely ridiculous job searches can be. But if it happens it happens, I have never been one of the sheep. If having to move onto something else I will, otherwise I will just have to make a smiley face in a stupid working environment. Not easy, but there are absolutely no guarantees that the new job would not end up being pretty much the same anyways. Know what I am saying?
I wish I had seen this a year ago!!! I was working full time and studying, straight out of high school (year 12), and it was just too much. My role kept changing and additional tasks kept being given to me. It got to the point where I was clinically diagnosed with depression and I felt sick every time I drove the route to work. Getting up the courage to accept that I had to leave was really hard and I think it's definitely important to publicise that if you're resigning for the right reasons and you've given the job your best, there's no shame telling it like it is and respectfully resigning.
Those are exactly the reasons why I've quit my current job and moved to another position. I was in line for a promotion but I took the same salary and more responsibilities just to get away from an ungrateful and unmotivating boss. He knew for a year I was unhappy yet he never tried to fix any of the problems. I was a yes sir type of guy in the first year that pulled shifts as long as needed to keep projects in line. I'm thinking he took my dedication and motivation as a weakness and still tried to convince me I could do more and I should account even less overhours on my projects just to look even better
i am so stress with my current job i got pressures from my workteam, i need to work overtime everyday from 8am to 10pm i am not accepted in the workteam. if i resign i don't know what's up with me next, damn life is hard
Thank you for sharing this! Just made the transition to a new position because of these reasons. I was scared to make the move, and this video would have boosted my confidence, but I am proud to have made the decision to put my career goals first. As always, I love watching your helpful video's and thank you for doing what you do!
What helps me get through the days at my current job when I know at the right time I will put in my two weeks, I remind myself that nothing is forever. I'm not stuck in anything. I can change my life whenver I want!
I know - a year late! I'm the classic new grad that has a job that I didn't sign up for and is just not right for me and stresses me outside work! Thank you so much for this video
Are you sure you didn't make this video specifically about me and my last position? I had to stop myself from writing a full-on article in your comment section with a response to each of your points and a terrible interaction I had with my boss (the company owner) that was a total red flag. And to be honest, I'd likely still be there if it wasn't for a major financial downturn in the company and being given the option to accept a layoff. I felt quite stuck and too nervous to transition someone else because of the financial stability I had and not knowing what I wanted my next move to be. (Still figuring that out.) The layoff was a bit of a blessing in disguise though.
I wish I had this information years ago. This video lays out the clear and practical reasons to move on and underlines the importance of setting appropriate boundaries.
9:28 this was my first fulltime job, where I was hired as a web programmer and ended up doing copy editing 90% of the time i was there and only wrote actual code (the skill i ACTUALLY had and wanted to expand) a couple of times. I got offered a new job two months later and it was almost exactly what I expected and wanted. Feels really good :)
commuting 6 hours a day when others who live closer get to work multiple days from home. being blacklisted so you can't transfer... 😞 yeah I'm just waiting to snap at this point.
I know I'm late, but I hope you're looking elsewhere. Too often, Black women in particular are overworked, underpaid, and under-valued. Please don't be another one. Have you tried asking if you yourself could work more often from home? Did you try asking those that work from home how they get or got to do that?
Thank you. Yeah I'm looking everywhere and won't give up. I did ask people and yeah just not fair but I've been using vacation time to make things work for me :) always a loop hole.

I was grappling with “should I stay or should I go now?”... you just helped me decide. You do good in the world by making these videos. Your helping others. Thank you for helping me 💞🙏🏼
Thank you for this. I have to walk away from a job I started 3 months ago and it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I see my circumstances in most of these points.?
Thank you so much for this video, watching it made me feel so much better! I had a very hard time leaving my last job, and was eventually let go. Even though my last workplace hit every bullet on this list, I've felt terrible because they didn't keep me on. I thought it was my fault, not the toxic environment or poor management. I realize now how toxic and unfulfilling it was, and am glad to no longer be there. Thank you!
Lyssa Mitchell That's a sign that your mind was too clouded from misperceptions. Not being able to see or feel a toxic work environment will keep with you until you start becoming more aware of what you need to do when it comes to work.
Thanks a lot for this video! I've started looking for another job after two bad years of having insomnia due to stress at my work. The only thing that sadden me is that I don't want to step up into the hiring processes with the high level of bitterness and anger 💢 Pro tip: when you're already looking for another job, It is good to try to develop more assertive skills, just play with it and act (until it's healthy ofc.).
it took me almost a year to work up the courage to leave my job and i finally did it a month ago. this video has so much truth in it, i really wish i'd found this a year ago
Chelsea, my goodness you have outdone yourself. This video has such a wealth of knowledge its astounding! Thanks for making this. I seriously need to rewatch this like 5 times to let it all sink in.
I’ve left a job of 7 years not because of the actual job but because of my toxic new manager of one year and her manager who have destroyed the place. 6 people have left in 5 weeks , I left only two weeks ago and Iam still ill with stress . You don’t quit your job you quit your boss !
I remember when I used to work at my old job; I just hate so much. Branch Manager was rude and will give you so little raise such as 15 cents per year. If you ask her for a better raise, then she said she will think about and never comes back with an answer. When you ask about, she said she will talk to HR. Everything little thing that the customers did, she will blame you. Your co worker constantly talking behind your backs. You can never move up in the company because you are looked down too low from the Management. I am glad that I quit that job. I will never step a foot at that place again. And haven’t been back for over 3 years now.
Very good video indeed, very real & valid points. I quit a toxic job after being miserable at it for 6 years. Ticking off 3-4 of the points (point 2, 3, 6 & 4 to a small degree) on your list! Such a waste of years of my life that was! Once I finally let go of it, knowing what I wanted instead, I found the perfect job for me :-)
This is so nice to hear. It fits completely with my experience with previous jobs, also, that jump cut around 8:07 is the cutest thing I've seen all day :-D. Please feel free to fill your jump cuts with as many dogs in as many different places as possible :-D!
I hated my old job and it made me so depressed. I went to school to become a licensed massage therapist, and it ended up becoming a fulfilling and joyful job. I help people heal from injuries, help them de stress, and in some scenarios work with their fitness goals. Best decision!
Lauren Konkiel I think so. It goes hand in hand with not knowing what you're being judged on. But an even bigger question here, is there someone whom I can ask, "who is my boss?" and get a straight answer? It also matters how long ago you got the job and how many jobs you've had before this and, of any, how you stayed at each one for.
You should definitely get clarification about who is ultimately in charge, in case you ever receive conflicting instructions. But it's pretty normal to sometimes work under different people for different projects.
I have been at this job almost 2 years in September. When I ask who my boss is I get this person is your boss. But than I also get but you have other jobs that you are required to do, even though I am doing the other persons job/work. I don't want to quit without having a job lined up but I live in a state where it is almost impossible to find a job. Any suggestions.?
Thank you that was a real confidence booster. I just left a job that was really burning me out and what you said really put my reasons into better wording
3rd one hit hard. I had to quit my job 2 weeks ago for being deeply depressed, stressed out to the point of almost burning out. I was so excited when I landed that job but in the long run... wasn't worth it.
I would leave my current job in a heartbeat, but I haven't had a better job offer to hire me yet... Only yesterday I was ready to walk out, and that isn't the first time I've felt that way. If a job treats you like crap, there's no reason to feel bad for quitting. If they had truly wanted you to stay, they would have treated you better.
The best time to hand in your resignation is when you have a signed job offer in the other. Reasons I left my employers: 1. Shifted to new department and had major personality clash with new bosses. 2. Company put development of the product I was supporting on hold & decided to "pivot" development to SaaS which I predicted to be (and was) a failure. In both cases I was able to leverage my network of ex-co-workers and find a new employer. Also, when changing jobs (especially in the US) - arrange for private health insurance for the time between jobs. Accidents and illness can strike at the most inopportune times.

To me the most important one was when the job makes your life unpleasant. I don't want to work for a company that expects me to stay late without warning or having me on call. Or expecting me to do more work because they don't want to hire enough workers to split the work into manageable roles.

Literally just turned in my resignation yesterday. All 6 points reassured me it was *definitely* the right thing to do. Thank you.
Girl I dont think you realize how much youre helping the world. You are very smart and work with intelligence. I love you and your videos!
Aint this crap that happens at these workplaces downright scary? Seriously
yup..this happens to me..new boss didn't like me and she fired me..I have worked for the company for 2 years 4 month..and she wants to take new employee that she trust..worst is she given me PIP..now I quit and have to find new job
Today is my last day at work 😍
pichipichi30 Yesterday was mine!
How's your new (now old) job going?
I have 2more weeks.... We do give one month notice😭😭😭
Go for it
Omg reading this I envy you and I know I want to leave my job, it’s so toxic
Sofie Linnea it's already on the channel
So true! I just spent a year in the wrong industry because the one I wanted to be in was crazy competitive. However, remember that you can leverage the experience you got in the naff job into experience for the better one. That was a large reason behind me finally getting a new role in that competitive industry.
Roxyqueen2, what is that super competitive industry you speak of?
Sofie Linnea same here
I'm in the exact same boat! Now comes the hard part of quitting.
very stupid. as soon as i hear an interviewer talk about how i shouldn't be about the money, i'm like BYE FELICIA.
I'm thinking of resigning because my depression is getting worse. I've already committed absences because of it. 😔
It’s amazing how people kill themselves for a pension and spend years miserable when life is so short and fragile.
Great video. I don't think it has enough pillows in it, though. ;)

Taryn Good And now it sucks for the new person in your last job. That sucks for him or her.
You give me some hope.
Thank you.
Her talking about the boundaries with coworkers makes me think of the Japanese working environment... *shiver*

Great video, could you guys do one about how to look for a new job while still having your old full time one? (searching, interviewing, etc)
Good suggestion. T
hey should do a video on that.
Great idea!
The Mrs. Amah Show True. For me, it was the company. The career is just fine especially with growth.
Mine is job change within the company but it's been a processes trying to transfer positions
Or is it your PERSPECTIVE that needs to change?

Career for me
100% agree with everything you've said! I've noticed in my own career every time one of these red flags do come up the job quickly goes down hill after.
I feel like this is a sign since Ive been wanting to get out of my job for so long! thank you1
I recommend reading 'women don't ask' for help on negotiating starting salary, raises, and other job needs such as different hours or more work from home time.
Women make the best employees and students.
Annalisa Murray how much did you owe? That's incredible! I will graduate with 45k :/
Dawn Hapgood that’s red flag
Quiting a job gracefully is an oxymoron. Companies are not going to fire you gracefully. It's a two situation.
Exactly
Number 6 is every normal job I've done.
But there should be two more-
Number 7: there is no advancement unless someone leaves.
This video is all about my previous job... I'm so glad I left, it was a soul killer. Thank you !
Great video, these are the exact reasons I changed my previous job.
aggg17 girl, same!
That’s when you know you’re fucked
Sh.., if it happens it happens, not loving the job, hanging on until I make Social Security, already older and I know how absolutely ridiculous job searches can be. But if it happens it happens, I have never been one of the sheep. If having to move onto something else I will, otherwise I will just have to make a smiley face in a stupid working environment. Not easy, but there are absolutely no guarantees that the new job would not end up being pretty much the same anyways.
Know what I am saying?
@@MBarberfan4life facts 😂 but my job didn’t have an HR

I feel like your videos are SO GOOD that I need to watch them twice to make sure I'm getting this liquid gold in my ears and brain
Just left my job today. Feels too damn good.
This was nicely explained. I've been watching a ton of these types of videos and reading articles. This is the one I will share. Thank you. 🙌
this fits so well with the previous video about having an emergency fund
Those are exactly the reasons why I've quit my current job and moved to another position. I was in line for a promotion but I took the same salary and more responsibilities just to get away from an ungrateful and unmotivating boss. He knew for a year I was unhappy yet he never tried to fix any of the problems. I was a yes sir type of guy in the first year that pulled shifts as long as needed to keep projects in line. I'm thinking he took my dedication and motivation as a weakness and still tried to convince me I could do more and I should account even less overhours on my projects just to look even better
i am so stress with my current job
i got pressures from my workteam, i need to work overtime everyday from 8am to 10pm
i am not accepted in the workteam.
if i resign i don't know what's up with me next, damn life is hard
It's almost like you know what I've been dealing with the past couple months and decided to make this video for me lol
Can I just say how much I wish I had watched these videos 5 years ago? These videos are amazing advice Chelsea, thank you so much.
Love this video! SUBSCRIBED. Can you make one that offers some pointers of quitting a job and what to do next during mid life?
6 warning signs, 5 appeared on the job I’m currently work at.. but still scared to quit because I’m need that paycheck .
Omg the cutest dog ever! Sorry that little fluff ball stole your show ... great content too!
This video resonated so much with me I don't have enough words to thank you for this
9:28 this was my first fulltime job, where I was hired as a web programmer and ended up doing copy editing 90% of the time i was there and only wrote actual code (the skill i ACTUALLY had and wanted to expand) a couple of times.
I got offered a new job two months later and it was almost exactly what I expected and wanted.
Feels really good :)
Man this is such a brilliant video.
Speaking as someone that was fired from a soul-crushing job last week, these points were so spot-on.
I'm having that exact same issue, I'm feeling guilty about leaving my job and now I can look at it from a different perspective, thank you
I needed this video right now. Thank you!
This is a good video...but don't leave a unfavorable situation for any other new job because career steps are important.
commuting 6 hours a day when others who live closer get to work multiple days from home. being blacklisted so you can't transfer...

I want to thank you for making this video. I was offered a huge opportunity with a big corporation and where I’m at now is a family owned company. Everything you listed, including not having an HR & no clear direction & being taken advantage of... that’s me!!!

Thank you for this. I have to walk away from a job I started 3 months ago and it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I see my circumstances in most of these points.?
mickey M I'm sure you can be brave. Good luck! :)
The only thing that sadden me is that I don't want to step up into the hiring processes with the high level of bitterness and anger 💢
Pro tip: when you're already looking for another job, It is good to try to develop more assertive skills, just play with it and act (until it's healthy ofc.).
it took me almost a year to work up the courage to leave my job and i finally did it a month ago. this video has so much truth in it, i really wish i'd found this a year ago

I'm so ready to change career for myself.
Did you end up changing your career?
Priceless. Loving the honesty about professionalism! Thank you!
Expressed with an unmatched candour ma'am. Precise and realistic . This should help a lot of us. Keep the good efforts .
Chelsea's looking good these days ! She's glowing.
I miss the glasses.
she is one pretty lady
OH MY GOD! I HAVE NEVER LOVED THIS CHANNEL MORE! this is NEVER talked about enough! thank you so much for saying all of this!
Very good video indeed, very real & valid points. I quit a toxic job after being miserable at it for 6 years. Ticking off 3-4 of the points (point 2, 3, 6 & 4 to a small degree) on your list! Such a waste of years of my life that was! Once I finally let go of it, knowing what I wanted instead, I found the perfect job for me :-)
Felt all of these at my previous job...glad I listened to them because now I'm in my dream job!
This also applies to college students stuck in clubs they should leave. So helpful, thanks!
This is so nice to hear. It fits completely with my experience with previous jobs, also, that jump cut around 8:07 is the cutest thing I've seen all day :-D. Please feel free to fill your jump cuts with as many dogs in as many different places as possible :-D!
The personal obligation 😩 it’s the worst!
I hated my old job and it made me so depressed. I went to school to become a licensed massage therapist, and it ended up becoming a fulfilling and joyful job. I help people heal from injuries, help them de stress, and in some scenarios work with their fitness goals. Best decision!
Is it a bad warning sign if I don't know who is my boss? I am working where I feel like I have 2 bosses.
Keep looking. Whatever state you're in has more jobs. You just need to dig deeper.
YES. just had this problem. the org chart need to be strictly observed, and if it isn't, they scamming you.
This is a brilliant, brilliant video. Can't express how pleased I am to have come across this video.
How are you so wise? I tick too many boxes here!
Casey Jewels Start building up freelance base til you get a 6 month fund together
Thank you for sharing these great tips. This video was so informative.

OMG. I didn't notice until almost 8 minutes in that Chelsea's little dog is asleep right behind her! So adorable.
Once the cute dog entered the room, I couldn't take my eyes off him! Cuuuuute!
Yeah I'm in one company that the boss doesn't care about your mental health it's always work. Work. Work!
