An amazing energy saving measure I never though of myself is what they did in my municipality (and some other buildings). They have horizontal window blinds on the outside of the building angled in such a way that they block direct sunlight in summer keeping it cooler, but allow it to shine through in winter allowing it to warm up.
You’ll need higher temperature than that, but if you go high enough, you can evolve into carbon! Feel free to try it out and let us know how it turns out.
Isn't the statement in this video that moving the heat from inside to outside and making the earth warmer false? There is a conservation of energy and laws of thermodynamics that means whatever heat was in the house would have been generated if the house was not there anyway. Eventually, that heat would eventually dissipate outside the house with or without AC. Laws of thermodynamics. The only delta in terms of increased heat output would be depending on what source of energy is used to run the AC. If I have solar panels or wind as source of my AC power then air conditioning has no net effect on heating the earth (putting aside refrigerant leaks after units are disposed of assuming that refrigerant is not properly captured first).

I agree that we need to reduce fossil fuels and that there are many ways that air conditioners and things produce more Carbon dioxide, but I believe the fossil fuels that are used to generate power for everything (not just air conditioners) need to be treated as a separate issue and not an issue attached to a device. (like in this video it makes it seem that somehow the air conditioners are the only reason people are using power from power plants that burn fossil fuels.) Because in places like oregon, we use mostly hydro-electric power generated from large Dams. Sure The air conditioner has problems that it itself creates but the power used to generate it should be treated as a separate problem rather than just one that is a side effect of using various technologies, ( like air conditioners). This is not something that just this channel does, it is actually something very very common in popular culture, but i think it is time to change how we think about this power generation so that we can understand that it is not a problem directly tied to our technologies, as it is not; and people thinking that it is dirctly tied to their technology makes them refuse to change anything that would be better evironmentally or personally for them.

I think your statement is only valid in the center of the city or only to a small area and with little wind breeze. On the insolating and cooling aspect of buildings I feel as though designers have not thought of a very obvious option that almost all animals do. Building our houses in the ground instead of looking up we should look down for those places that are stable and flood free enough to do so. that's a lot of natural heating and insolating factors we could take advantage of. The only issue that I can see right now is humidity and water aspects that would have to be adressed

If you want a building witch is cool build it out of stone. In some parts of the world clay bricks also work. I am speaking from experience.
