One special piece you can add later to your nursery theme is the picture of the night sky the day your son is born. The site is called Nightsky. I love this theme for the nursery. It has such an ethereal feel. You look beautiful and your pregnancy just has you glowing.
this is such a cute idea omg
I love this idea. I kept the newspapers of the day my daughter was. The sky souds awesome❤
This is so exciting! Ooohhh, it will be lovely. 🎉
I love the night sky idea!! I got one for my husband for our first wedding anniversary with our wedding sky and it looks so beautiful.
A friend did this for my Mums first grand daughter, what a lovely idea!
I love Romeo always hyping you up “you’re strong!” So cute!!
I loved that moment too! And Macenna “Oh
, well, ohKAY!”
Yeah, he's a major Simp to a multimillionaire wife 😅😅
It has been so incredible to watch you over the years. I remember when you were doing DIY in your apartment, the first time you built furniture, building a house, and now building a home 🥹.
aww thank you so much!
@XOMaCenna you too can buy magnetic paint, yes 🧲.... so little tiger can learn his abc /123. It's available in the UK, so you can call them in English 😊😊
I love the sounds of rain in this video ❤
@@XOMaCenna eve online has the perfect space vibe
Le Petit Prince! This reminds me so much for that book. ❤ Congrats again! Love watching your channels.
Yesss! 🌑💖
I was thinking that too The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery. Lovely childrens story about a young Prince who visits various planets including earth and addresses themes of loneliness, friendship, love and loss. MaCenna should read it if she hasn't already.
Yes! This and I also instantly thought about the Pixar short La Luna💙
@@jmk1962She doesn't know it. She's American ! She didn't even know Klimdt picture 😅
@xoMacenna, if you don’t know the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, look it up! I think you may fall in love with it. Not only is it a 80-year-old book from France (which makes it perfect for your home), it is about a sweet little prince from another world who loves a beautiful rose. ❤ 🌹 when I was little, they had a children’s cartoon based on the story, but I’ll bet there are some beautiful copies of the book out there.
MaCenna, you may want to consider using one of the upstairs bedrooms as your master bedroom for awhile while your kid(s) are young. You could even make the guest room the master and use the nursery from the start. My daughter slept a solid 12 hours at night by the time she was 6 mos, but my son still wakes up occasionally and he’s 10 mos. Now my daughter is in her own room and often calls for us or comes to our room if she has a bad dream, needs the potty, etc. I can’t imagine walking across the house and then upstairs to help my kids in the night for the next 3-5 years.
That and you're just gonna have guests staying in the nursery??
@@BreezyRenee333 no offense, but do you not think macenna took the time to decide whether or not that was too weird for her and her family's needs?
Baby boy is going to fall asleep to the sound of power tools not white noise. So amazing to watch you learn and grow these past years. Looking forward to this new adventure for your family and followers.
You're probably right haha! My dad always had a project and now as an adult I watch restoration videos if I can't fall asleep. There's something very soothing about it
That’s better though because they learn to sleep with anything going on! We never used white noise for my daughter, she sleeps through vacuuming, bumps and thumps. It’s nice.
I love your theme! All the beauty of the sky stars and moon. I take a lot of pictures of the moon, sunset and night sky.
I think that the idea of a picture of the sky the day of his birth is awesome that color is great NY sky is it? Have you seen cloud lamps? I'm so happy for you two!
@@erinnorton7711 us too! I actually saw a study recently saying sound machines actually prevent babies from getting into a really deep sleep.
My sister always had an open house policy so her friends, her fiancé friends, all members of their different families were always over at their house hanging out, having dinner, watching films etc & when my niece came along they just continued as normal…
She had such a hard time getting her to sleep when the house was quiet as a newborn but she slept like the dead when there was a lot of noise around so eventually they had to have the vacuum running to get her to fall asleep, as so as they turned it off she woke up 😂
My niece is now almost 11 & still loves when there is a lot going on around her & she’s always a part of the dinner parties/activities my sister does with her friends..
Some of my nieces “best friends” in her own words are my sisters friends/teammates 🥰😅
I just love how Kinsley is always your buddy in everything you are doing. Sweet girl!
He's very affectionate. ❤
I wonder how jealoyus he will get after baby is born. Always got all the attention and not used to sharing his "mum".
@@judithteeuwen4706 Kinsley never gets any attention.
@@karmad4491 I was feeling bad for her in the video, always being ignored 😢
If your going to use Roman Blinds, make sure the crib is not near any string that the baby can grab. ( strangulation) Remote control would be good. Love the theme!😊
Yes, I love the Roman shade with blackout fabric idea! 😍was also coming here to say the same about the strings from blinds/ shades. Ps. I'm excited to see the moody nursery! Congratulations MaCenna & Romeo🎉
A lot of Roman shades these days are just pull and push to raise and lower. No cords at all. Not sure what sorcery it takes but it’s super easy. We have them in my kids’ room.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰💖💯💫🌜
I think chords are illegal, at least in Canada they are!
In Australia, it's illegal to hang a corded blind of any sort without using a cleat to wrap the excess cord around.
Omg Macenna, you are a person who reaches for the stars, that lives by the saying " the sky is the limit" and what better message to give to your baby when they join this world.
" reach for the stars, " the sky is the limit", "out of this world".
@@kellyquinn1934Should do a Moon Landing themed, Stanley Kubrick style. May as well!
Or look into Nos Confunden version of the world, because even Von Braun, the founder of NASA has on his written on his Tombstone: "Glory of Firmament that showeth God's greatest handy work!"
Macenna is so clueless...
I worry for her.
And I hope vaccines will NOT affect the baby's health, but if she breastfeeds, it might 😢😢😢😢😢
DIY Danie did an amazing job on a brass galaxy inspired mobile, highly recommend checking it out 🥰
Also love the idea!! It’s gonna be so cute ❤ Excite to see the rest :3
Your nursery vibe is very Le Petit Prince! So sweet 🥹 maybe you can sneak a little French inspo in there too!
Yesssss. Ohhh the little prince 🌹
She doesn't know it, she's American. She didn't even know Klimdt artwork 😅😅😅
Watching, as I hold my sweet 15 yo kitty on my shoulder. She is not well and will soon be crossing the rainbow bridge. Love seeing people about to welcome some happiness into their lives.
My heart breaks for you. I bet your fur baby has had the most wonderful life with you, though. Sending comforting vibes your way. ❤
So sorry, sending love.
I'm very sorry ❤ but you are giving her the best and loving life ❤️ 💖
❤❤❤
So happy that you're becoming a family of 4 🩵✨️
Hi macenna!! I thinks you should move your bedroom upstairs much more logic to have the office downstairs (you could also make a very cool grand bookcase in your study downstairs dark and moody it would look so cool! I think when the baby is born even when it’s older you want to be close and not have him all the way upstairs i don’t even want to leave my dog alone at night downstairs he comes with me upstairs so imagine with a baby it’s even worse. Very excited for the nursery!💙
So many people have said this to her. It will take her having the baby to realize what we mother's already know.
It's incredible to me that this continues to be brought up when she has repeatedly stated this is what she plans to do. This is her home and her baby and Romeo's home and baby, too, of course) and she should do whatever she thinks works best for her family. Not what somebody else has done, what somebody else tells her they think she should do or because most of the somebodies do it a certain way. To tell her that she's made a wrong choice and then to suggest that she's being illogical or that she'll "come to her senses" once the baby is born is the height of rudeness and so insulting. Imagine inviting a new friend, someone you don't really know well, into your home and showing her around. Then imagine her response to your hospitality is to tell you that you have arranged and decorated your home "incorrectly" because it's not how SHE would have done it - and then suggesting that you change it now that she's shown you the error of your ways and you know better. Pretty sure you'd be outraged.
@@Lucinda_Jacksonit’s not rude, it’s just simple common sense. Why the hell would anyone want their baby alone upstairs.
Completely agree @@Lucinda_Jackson, it's so rude and annoying. MaCenna has said a million times that she thought it through and this is what she wants to do. How she wants to arrange things is her choice, people need to *move on* and worry about their own babies...
This is beyond exciting! The nursery will be epic.
hehehe thank youuuuuuu
My friend used glow in the dark paint to add a milkyway effect that you could see after you turned off the lights..it was sooo cool!!
When I / we got married we bought those glow in the dark stars and taped them all over our bedroom ceiling. Like sleeping outside. 😊
Yes it would be really cool to add a layer of glow in the dark flecks after doing the white. That way you can see the stars during the day and at night. Built in night light too lol
Hi. Removing all that really opened up the room. Looking forward to see the nursery complete ❤
RIGHT! its crazy how much space we had in there that we can utilize :)
it's so cool that baby boy has proof of his mama being so capable and strong willed. he's gonna grow up to be such a good human
It is insane how much bigger the space looks without the built ins! Can’t wait to see everything come together 💕
Loving the direction of the nursery and the color of the wall! The inspo picture with the bear in it maybe an ode to the children’s book, “I love you to the moon and back” the main characters are bears.
I absolutely love the boy on the ladder.
I love her for these crazy Pinterest inspo pics…a rickety antique ladder propped against the wall, with a bunch of tangled electrical cords lying just underfoot… a sharp and spiky brass celestial mobile dangling tantalizingly above that soft baby skull…and a dark, moody color to set the funereal tone. It’s giving me “Addams Family Values” and I mean that as the highest compliment. I love our diva ❤
I was soooo excited to see this project!!! Your baby is very lucky to have parents as amazing as you ❤❤❤
omg your so sweet! thank you so much!
Oh come on MaCenna, if anyone can paint a beautiful galaxy, it's you! Everything you create is beautiful. The nursery is already looking amazing!!
YEAH!!! So excited to see the nursery decorated!!
MaCenna, seeing you work, with that music, it's such a vibe. I cannot express how fulfilling this feels.
This theme is gonna look soo good!
And it not only fits for a newborn but also a 5y/o! Just knew youre gonna make something amazing!
MaCenna I have been subscribed to your channels for years now. I have always loved your content and your overall vibe in general. I have been invested in the cottage, your L.A. home and now your growing family. The nursery is just going to be breathtakingly perfect. Congratulations to you and Romeo. 💙
I would definitely suggest putting a bed in the other upstairs bedroom as well so that your guests have options on where to sleep if they don't really want to share a bedroom with a baby/kid
The couch is Romeo's office makes into bed.
My great nephew gives up his queen size bed when company comes and he just sleeps on a pallet in his parent’s room for the weekend. Since MaCenna’s mom will be the most often guest, she probably won’t mind sharing 🤭but for their other occasional guests,I just assumed they would take the baby/toddler/5 year old,in their room for the weekend?
Omg that’s going to be amazing! I just don’t get the whole guest bedroom situation, wouldn’t be easier and more cohesive to have a couch that also doubles as a bed? Like those Ikea ones that are twin bed and open up to a double bed!
Seems strange to me that you'd have the baby upstairs & your own room downstairs. Romeo's office would have been better on the ground floor.. just my opinion 😊
Screaming! Almost closed the app for the night then this showed up!! So excited to see it all!
You could use those shutters on a playhouse you build for your son. Can’t wait to see how you’re going to decorate! So excited for you guys!!🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm a pediatrician, and this is interesting to me. Newborns can see differences in black and white; the first colour they see is red. They start to see shades of blue, green and yellow at about 3 months. They can not see browns, beige or pastels for a long time, and it does not fire their brain in any interesting way. Neutral aesthetic homes are not interesting to babies, so they will not track as well as one surrounded by interesting colours they can see. The deep contrast between top and bottom will be fabulous but remember bright colour too. Just some thoughts for you moving forward.
As a pediatrician you're hopefully aware of the fact that most people don't keep their infants in one part of the house during all hours of the day, right? That the child is probably taken outside, seeing different places, being taken from one room to the other?
Ffs the comments are as expected condescending af, but one would have hoped that a pediatrician wouldn't treat parents to be like their neglectful idiots because of a nursery interior theme.
Years of watching you grow up has been such an honor. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! 💖
The baby’s room looks so good already! As for the galaxy, start with darker blues than you’d be inclined to use, then lighter blues, and a third layer, still lighter. The colors will read lighter because the dark base. Then you can decide if you need/want the white. I hope that makes sense. Either way, I know you’ll do a great job! You always do! ✨
Yes, that will help create the depths of the stars!
So beautiful watching you grow over the years. Thank you for letting us be apart of your life and now your growing family!! Congratulations, I can’t wait for y’all to be partners. It’s seriously the best 🥹💕
Yay!!! First renovation of the year! Excited to see how you decorate the nursery
YAYYY it gave me LIFEEE working on a project again
@@XOMaCennaI think it’s really cool that your son well be able to look back at these videos of you making his nursery. I wish I had something like this to look back on.
Look at kinsley. Such a big helper 😊
I love you and your renovations !! So excited for you to embark on the journey of motherhood and pregnancy! I’m due in 17 days with a little boy couldn’t be more excited 🩵🧸!!
omg CONGRATS!!!!
Love what youre doing to the nursery! I did something similar with shiplap panels in mine! It’s going to be amazing when you’re done! Can’t wait to see it!!
I'm praying for y'all at Californa the flood area's between Santa Susana and Santa Clarita. MaCenna always stack up on non- perishable foods. Be safe and God bless!
I’m so excited for you and Romeo and this sweet baby boy. I know you guys will be the best of parents 💕
I would love to see a ledge/mini shelf on to of the bead bored, would be so handy for the monitor and other little bits and bobs
I thought she was going to put a small ledge shelf on top of the bead board too!👍
I'm not really understanding how the nursery will share the space with the guest room. Won't it be weird for overnight guests (and for the baby) to be sharing a bedroom?
It is mostly family I think, grandparents and aunts and uncles. I shared a room with my young grand daughter when I visited.
I feel like they’ll probably give their bedroom to guests when they visit and they sleep in there with baby
@@alexispennings380 That would make sense.
Praying everything is good with your family 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why don't you use this room as a combined master-suite and nursery; then make the downstairs bedroom as a guest bedroom or Romeo's office?
Your little boy has an extraordinary mom. ❤ These are going to be such sweet memories ❤
Love your theme!!! The deep blue is stunning! When you mentioned the lights trailing down from the ladder and going under the bed, I thought that sounded so lovely. You might be able to attach a net underneath the bed, up off the floor, for the lights. Like netting the falling stars. Could be cute. Can’t wait to see the stars and galaxy!
Some of your Pinterest pictures reminded me of ispy books I used to read as a kid with the eclectic style, in the most wholesome way possible.
I knew u would do something amazing that very few would have thought of.
Your baby boy is going to be so lucky to have both u & Romeo for parents.
Cant wait to see what u continue to do w this room.
Cant wait to actually get to see the baby in his to room that mommy & daddy put so much love into. ❤🫂🙏
I glad you posted samples of the colors at the bottom of the screen while you were talking about them. The colors come of so differently on camera. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Instead of string lights what about tiny led lights that come on sticky tape that you could stick under the frame of the crib or along the baseboard & not worrying about wires on the floor for cleaning purposes? I like the galaxy theme, just not sure how I feel about a dark nursery, so can't wait to see it. 😊❤
I think little baby hands will be much more of a worry than cleaning. They do look great but only for photos. Once baby is crawling they would be far too dangerous.
The Little Prince would be a classic inspiration for this theme!
Congratulations on the exciting news that you and Romeo are pregnant. as a midwife, I would look into the colours you choose for the nursery as colours can affect the baby, A newborn’s developing eyes can best see the high contrast in colours, shapes and sizes.
I don't think the baby will spend much time there as a newborn. I'm sure she said the plan was to have a bassinet or other sleeping arrangement in their bedroom for a few months before he moved upstairs.
I reckon this could last for years eventually it could mimic a giant play house as your child gets older absolutely loving this idea ,imagine the adventures to space on earth ❤❤❤❤❤
You are doing a great job. This area has so much space. You were right to remove the shutters. I am loving the color. You and Romeo will make incredible parents. You both have excellent role models.
The boy on the ladder, love it!
Kinsley is such a good helper. She's going to be a great big sister ☺️💞
I love the space theme! You should have your mama come and paint the galaxy! That would be so amazing. I’m sure she could do a dreamy moon too ❤❤
Yes! So excited to see another room makeover!! Especially since it is the nursery !!! Omg 💕💕💕 love your videos
awww thank you so much!
Love the vintage space idea! It would be beyond adorable if you incorporated the Little Prince somewhere in the room. 💕
The brass mobile is stunning, (& DIY Danje made one recently) but remember what you see is a completely different view from what the baby sees if you’re wanting the mobile to be useful in addition to a pretty element in the space💙
The "viby" picture is really very Jules Verne-esque, it's very nice and definitely encouraging imagination!
DIY Danie here on TH-cam just did a star and moon metal mobile that was absolutely beautiful!!! Hers was not for a nursery but it reminded me of the brass inspo photo you showed!!
So excited watching you prepare the nursery! When I saw the outlets, I thought that this spot could suit the guest bed and the other side the nursery better.😅
How fun. Great theme.
As a new mom of a 2 month old, I can promise you that you and Romeo are TOTALLY going to love that nursery being a bedroom as well. If you want your baby to sleep in his own crib eventually, you being able to sleep in the same room will be such a big help in that process!!!!! I am sooo happy for you guys
Love the midnight blue color when it was all done, but when you first rolled it on the lighting made it look brown! Lol. Can’t wait to see more!
Romeo being like Girl, whatcha talking about, you are strong is the exact sort of supportive partner everyone needs in their life 💪
idk if anyone has mentioned Mr Kate yet but they had a big moon painted in their nursery for their son Moon. Maybe it could also inspire you :)
I thought of Moon's room also.
100% it'll definitely raise the bar on epic nursery designs... And i think the theme will age well. Can't wait to see this next chapter of @maCenna life
I thought of Moons room but I didn’t know if I should mention it.🤔. Nonetheless, they are both talented beautiful young women.
@@Beachbum471 and they will both support each other because they are strong independent and amazing women
there's now a peel-and-stick of that moon she painted
Ahhh! So awesome! Our son’s room is a dark academia style with Trains, Planes and Space “theme.” All collected items and we love it. The great thing is that it transitions so well into now Toddler and Young boy. Good Choice!!!
Just an idea... you could combine your space theme with Le petit prince de St-Exupéry. Classic and french to go with your style.
for that kind of material, use a higher tooth-count blade, like for melamine. there's usually a couple in those jigsaw sampler packs for inexpensive.
I absolutely love space, all things astronomy, astrology, and the like. There's so much untapped magic in the feeling of space. I'm so so excited for this nursery, and may take inspiration for a future space themed room of my own. So cute!
I don't think we would have guessed this theme! But you will make it work for sure! Can't wait to see how it comes together!!! Bring it on
I LOVE the theme and how you are making it your own and truly elevating it 😇 so inspiring!! Everything you create and think of is GOLD Macenna ✨️
I love everything about this 🥰 please just be mindful to secure any ladder because once baby boy begins crawling, he will begin climbing. I love the look though!
DIY Danie literally just made the brass mobile on her channel...highly recommend checking it out to help navigate some of it difficult bits - like balanceing it
Would never have guessed this theme but it is looking beautiful already. You have such an amazing knack/talent for imagining & designing the perfect space.👶
You might look up “Ravenclaw aesthetic.” I know it’s Harry Potter (and obviously that’s not your theme) but it has the same celestial, antique, moody vibes you’re going for.
The theme reminds me of The Little Prince, which is one of my absolute favorite books and the theme I would choose if I were to have a boy.
Hello sweet girl❤ seems like yesterday you were doing your first DIY. Now you and Romeo are expecting a wonderful little bundle of joy. What a blessing. the nursery is going to be epic. I cannot wait till it’s finished.
It will come out beautiful in the end because it is a labor of love.
Soooo excited to see your dream nursery come to life!!! ❤️
Love watching Kensley help you.
I did my daughter's room like this too. For the milky way, paint the white then immediately wipe it off with a cloth, it looks weird while wet but dries very pretty. For small stars you an also use a toothpick. Enjoy this is so fun! Bianca ❤
J'adore ! C'est magnifique, je n'étais pas loin en parlant du Petit Prince de Saint Exupéry :)
I know you think that this alcove will be enough space for a nursery, but believe me, your baby will outgrow this small area very quickly and you will need to make the entire room his nursery/playroom. You can’t imagine how much space he will need for toys, play things, and crawling space. I also can’t imagine you and Romeo being all the way downstairs in the back of your house and the baby being upstairs at night. You might want to rethink your whole arrangement before you get any further into this remodeling project. Just some advice from an old mother/ grandmother!
I also think this is true, but I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of cosleeping going on. Bless their sweet little hearts.
Couldn’t disagree more. The baby will take over the whole house, not everything will be crammed into this little alcove 😂 And didn’t she say that they will have a bassinet in their room for the first few months? Then, when baby’s older, they WILL want his room more tucked away from all the day time action of the house. And by the time baby is actually using more of the room, I imagine they’ll turn it more into his room, and less the guest room. Their setup is ideal.
@@MollyMA13 I was about to say, I've never heard of a baby only being allowed to crawl in their room 😂 babies and toddlers spend very little time in their room anyway, it really doesn't matter how big it is
@@MollyMA13replied to you agreeing with you btw, in case my other comment was confusing
Baby boy is going to look back at this one day and know he's loved. Your theme is so intentional❤
Just think, when your little boy is old enough to see his mommy and daddy designing, painting and building his nursery and know how much he was loved even before he was born. Truly fabulous ❤
So happy to see zero VOC paint, I harp on about it all of the time to my parent friends 💜
Fabulous colour. Good luck with the Milky Way. Can't wait to see it. All for your own little star!
Your baby boy will get to see the love you both are putting in his room!!💙🧢
This is exciting! I am a huge astronomy fan! I love that you picked this theme and I loved all your inspiration photos! ❤
It looks so cute already! Like a little warm cosy cottage space 😊
You could do a brass starburst light backing on the ceiling. Theyre stunning
So excited for the nursey design 😍. Almost at 1million too 🎉
This is gonna be amazing. When my son was born i did a space themed nursery and watching this brings back fond memories..❤
I like how you showed everything you were using for the project like you used to do in your old videos😁
Love the theme! Please check the baby proof recomendations on the ladder and the ligths!
Love the space idea. Also love the moon idea.
