One slight improvement to this might be to bet the minimum $25 on the don't pass, then $30 as don't odds. But I realize that might unnecessarily complicate the video for a small 35 cent equity improvement.
I tried this system last night at Caesars New Orleans. Started with a $600 bankroll. Was doing ok for the first few shooters. Lots of ups and downs. Then a few shooters started hitting a lot of points, but the hard ways were scarce. I was down to my last $175, when I stopped playing the don’t pass. Luckily, a hot shooter hit two hard 8’s in a row. I wound up walking with $1155 after about an hour. With all the points being made, $160 across prob would have served me better. I would try it again, but definitely not every time.
You can also over-hedge with a bigger-than-offsetting don't pass bet, so that a 7 rolling after the point is established will pay the same as 6 or 8. After a couple of hits, you can even light-switch the don't pass bet with an off-setting place bet on the don't pass number, if you want to, and then let the 6 & 8 bet stand on their own after they're paid for with wins.
Not a huge fan of the Field. But definitely an option. Pulling down the DP lower though doesn't cover you if win the 7. You lose $30 From one of the numbers.
One of my favorites! I would bet 60$ on the dont so i wouldnt lose 10$ everytime on a 7 out or i would just place the 6&8 for 25$ ! I hate capping the 6&8 ! Its a straight up Rip off

Hi Ryan, I have been playing around with this, What I am doing is at the $15 level, ( this is most common game I see around me), I put $75 on the Don't Pass, establish the point, then I put $81 across, the fist hit lets say its a 6 you get Paid $21. Now you should be out of the hand, Everything after this hit is profit. it BIG RED Comes next you paid $75 ,so now you collect $96, and you still have the $75 on the don't pass. After the 1st hit I press and collect, Your in Profit town... , you are only exposed $75 on the Come out 7 and if the point is hit on a buck shot you lose $75. if its a PSO, you lose $3 , What are you thoughts?
I like this idea... But what if you hit the point. But im struggling around what if you hit the point knock off your DP. Knock off the DP on Next roll... I'm Just making up scenarios of course.. that's what we do play hypotheticals!
Why don’t you take the don’t pass bet down after you hit 2 box numbers? The pay is exactly the same. Then you can just roll with what happens on the 6 and 8.
While I understand your thought, the idea of getting the most common numbers provide the best probability of making money in the long run.. Bet the most probable numbers to roll.

IF that were true, I would have $120 working all the time on the 6 & 8 hah! Also the 6&8 pays $36 not $35 on a $30bet But I'm sure you did that for simplicity. Another option to pulling down the 6 & 8 after a few Hits( to limit risk,) Is to bring the 6&8 bet down to $18 or $12 after a few hits, that way, You are not giving back as much on 7OUT.... yet still have the 6&8 working in case the roll is long, the other day I rolled to 53 rolls and hit lots of 6's & 8's and a couple hours later another shooter rolled 58 rolls , (Roll counter at the table) He didn't even roll a single 7 the entire roll, So I made out good because I had $12 6&8 always working (on come outs), then pressed up after come out, SO I did not miss any 6's or 8's. again great video.

you need to win on the 7 not just recoup a portion. $70 Dp 30 on the 6 & 8, on the pso you win $10. Gains are only made when a win exceeds loss. payment is not a Win. wins are calulated to include loss, payment - loss = Win . if loss is greater than payment that is not a win but what you lose
What do you do when the casino doesn't allow to play both sides of a number? Example: have a don't pass bet on come out and point is 8. My local casino doesn't let us bet the 8. Move to the 9?
I've never heard of them not letting you place the 8... That's very new to me... I would definitely question why. But if want to choose the 5 or 9 is fine. But I would definitely question that rule.
I appreciate the reply. Maybe I didn't explain it correctly. They don't let you play the light and dark side of a number at the same time. So you can't have a don't pass bet on the 8 and then also place the eight thus canceling the bets out. It's unfortunate because they used to let us do it which is how I would get most of my comps/points.
If the odds are always 5 to 3 in your favor of making a 6/8 on a front line comeout then you should always make your 6/8 work on all front line comeouts. Otherwise you are always needlessly leaving $ on the table in the long run. Can't successfully build your case otherwise without contradicting yourself.
I almost always have a minimum bet on 6&8 WORKING on come out rolls, there are only 6 dice combos (out of 36) that will lose those bets, If I do lose them on a 7 I double them! If I lose again I double again. If I am the shooter, I sometimes have 66.00 across & working on the come out. or I will do that if I know the shooter is good. And I will usually pull down the 5,9,4,10 after 3 hits, always having 6&8 working at all times. and sometimes I will press the 6&8 with any hits from the 5,9,4,10. and a buck or two on hard 6 & 8.
I would place the 6/8 for $25 and if one hits, move it $30. It's not worth the $10 loss for a dollar short payoff on a $25 bet. If I played this, I would buy in for $1000 for 10 rolls. Put the 10 rounds in one chip tray and the collect money in the other tray. Also, I would collect and then press on each 6/8 hits.
Both of those are options. A $25 bet would pay $29. I like the option of pressing the 6/8. Depends on how much you are willing to invest and risk exposure. Most people don't know, A collect, press,collect, takes 4 hits to show a benefit.. until to the 4th hit same bet actually makes more $$
Put $24 on each which pays $28 since casino wants it in $6 increments, so a 7 out you win $2. I would probably do a collect and 1/2 press on the 6 8. Might also lay the 5 (some prefer 4 or 10) for $60 (pays $38) to offset some of the come out 7 with a less likely number. @@markthepoint

Lay the 4 or 10 to hedge the DP. Put $60 on the DP if you are going to put 30 on 6&8.
I'm not a huge fan of Lay bets.. but it is 100% an option as a hedge!
You should be putting atleast $70 on the dp. Because right now you’re not winning on a 7. You’re just losing less

I think either make the,bet $25 or take DP up to $60.. Both viable options.

Absolutely! Also, After rolling this out I would rather have $60 DP rather than $50 so we're not losing $10 each Roll without collecting.
You should have dropped the DC bet from $50 down to $25 and used the other $25 in the Field, you'd have racked up big time!

Just so we're clear, it's not the "don't pass bar". It's the don't pass LINE. The 'bar' means 'bar 12', as in bar payment if the 12 shows.

It's a very good idea! Getting hit on the point on the DP is terrible.. and it seems to happen to me alot!
There is no DON'T PASS"bar". The "bar" is actually the statement that the casino "bars" either the "2" or "12".
Each of these wagers are individual wagers. there is no dynamic that increases one's chances to win. IMO

I agree there are ways to change this. I believe a $60 hedge may be a better option. Not losing $10 each time... But totally understand your concept!

A $15 level would require $18 each on the 6&8... That's $36 Total. So you want your DP to be close to matching that. So a $35 DP would work just fine.

Only Shooter place pass or don't pass?
I only play the pass line or DP when I'm shooting Dice...I'm required to. other than that, I don't play either
