You should start by looking out for those from known firms and good track records. You should also make sure the person is licensed. Personally, I use Kelly Matwick. She's good and you could also look her up.

Some stocks might seem too big to generate explosive growth. Others could be so small that their risk level isn't appealing. investors can find stocks that are just right.
The big indexes are chugging higher but are largely being propped up by a handful of the biggest stocks.
I’m currently looking out for stocks with solid growth prospects.
I’ve bought lots of stocks that seems like there’re gonna generate good profits but they always end up performing poorly.

I suggest to invest in indian mutual funds with "international holdings" instead of direct stocks, unless your investment criteria is more than 5-6 lakhs.

@@singhvishal2858 yes, you need an amount of over $25000 to have unlimited access any less just gives you 3day trades within the five business days of trade. You can decide to make use of good offshore brokerage like I do, where you can start an account for as low as $2000.

Great video. But I think the taxation rule is slightly different. Short term capital gain is anything sold less than 1 year in US and short term taxation is as per your normal income tax bracket. Where as long term tax is either 0, 15 or 20 % depending on your income.
Great video, Ankur. I think there was one small misinformation regarding capital gains tax. 20% flat tax is for long term gains and income based tax slab is for short term gains. You had it the other way round in your video.

Hi Ankur. As usual, great in-depth explanation! However, one thing that, in my opinion, was left out - a case study on actual returns after all bank charges, deductions, etc. Because honestly a case study on these charges will help a lot of people, including me, to understand why you said "It's better to invest in US Stocks if it's ₹1L+".

You once mentioned about having a term plan is a must, but can you also share what should be the duration of that plan as in how to select coverage till what age is right?
Term insurance is for replacement of including me in case of death to provide support for your dependents, so the age you think your children will be on their own should be fine. Roughly it is around 57-60 years for most of the people.
It should be till 65 years of age

After all the taxation, standard transfer deduction, it seems like buying a FOF MF in India is a great option. Some of the FOF MF gives 30% returns and no noticeable charges and even if you hold for long term then you get benefit of indexation on tax.

Stock sold after 2 years is a capital gain for Long term, whereas within 2 years will be as per Income tax slab termed as short term.
Besides, i would like to know your view, if we invest in indian Mutual fund with US ETF, would that not be better considering lesser taxes?
