The quartet begins siowly as a compleintment. A little faster is the second one, in a peacefull atmosphere. The entering of the instruments is a little contrapuntistic. At the end all resolves into a half-dramatic. Minor harmony is less decided that the maggiore. The second movement, written in minor key with a lot of "picades". The tempo changes into a fast sequence of fast notes. The final is the moderate tempo and melody of the beggining. The thitd mouvement is the real Adagio. The voices are as they were a sweet ribbon among them. The ambiance is peacefull one, even in the fortes. The character is of acceptance. The fourth mouvement is a fast comentary with the base or"semicorcheas"dacing all arround the instruments. The melody is an arpege. The m,usic changes into the darkness of a minor key, not only dramatic but also expresive. The music carry us in a maggiore key with the alternance of minor ones. At the end the the two final chords are maggiore. E - flat mayor.
Beautiful playing. I find the cello just a bit too present, for my taste. There are gorgeous viola lines in there, but it's pretty hard to hear them, over the bass line.
Thank you for uploading this unfamiliar but beautiful work of Mendelssohn with tender interpretation by amazing musicians.
Love the way the third movement pulls material from the 1st. It truly feels like coming home after a long journey at the end.
Maravillosa interpretación. Bravooooooooo¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
It actually starts at 2:53
Lovely interpretation of this quartet. These people are so young and they sound amazing.
Beautiful played, with great expression and warmth.
Thanks for listening!
@@peterchun1521 -- Perfect indeed.....BRAVI TUTTI from Acapulco!

A mature and romantic work by a teenager! I often hear the lyrical and dramatic slow movement in my head. I love it!
A joy to listen to

Lovely playing. Perhaps the piu mosso in the second movement a little too fast for comfort? A quibble.
@Peter Chun: Could you please add the timestamps for the movements? Thank you, and fine playing!
I'd be happy to... I've been meaning to, for years now... I'll finally get to it!
