    The A40640 is a variable/fixed focus. It's the best module on the market. If you look at the diode, it can be both long and short focus. With a screwdriver, turn the diode all the way in and then back it off a turn or so. That is the cutting setting at about a 17mm long focus. Dial it out and you can get a focus as small as 3mm. You also need to do a ramp test to find the focus and cut your own focal gage once you set the diode. The air assist M8 module attaches with the double sided tape they provided. This is a pro-quality laser, and not for the average user. There is no other diode laser on the market that even comes close to the Max3 at any price IMO.

    • @Kun373
      @Kun373 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the ramp test is good for finding the best focus. This variable focus laser module is suitable for professional guy, it is not suitable for new baby to use this. If you don't have the patience to adjust this, many people will go crazy because of it. btw,The advice you gave is the most professional I have seen.

      @@Kun373 Thanks... I've had the A40640 module for a year now, and with 9 other diode lasers, none of them even come close to this one. I also have the Max 3.

    I would love to see the Atomstack X7 Pro with their rotary and extension towers. I've got some ideas for some leather projects and I'm wondering if their rotary + extension towers are capable of doing something like a leather belt. Got an xtool right now and it's been good so far.

    You have done a great job at reviewing the pro max. I am both amazed at the size this laser can accept and a bit deceived by the alleged one pass 18mm plywood (forgive the metric , I’m french) that seems quite exaggerated .
    I would kill (figuratively) to see how it compares to the new E40 module from neje or the atomstack 4 leds 130w not to speak of the future 4leds E80 neje module. Thanks for the review again.

    With the NEJE 3 MAX, have you tried (and if not can you) cut about a 3" circle out of 1/8 ply and then try to turn the cut out circle while holding it in the cut out hole? This is a quick way to test the circles cutting accuracy. If it is near perfect, the cut disc will turn smoothly in the hole it is cut from. If it is slightly oval, it will resist turning.

      A lot of folks will say the Neje laser head is the best on the market. I don't care for it due to ease of use.

      @@relaxingpure1845 Stronger are the ones that use 20W laser like Atomstack X20 Pro and xTOOL D1 20W but I'm not sure if it cuts aluminum foil. Is the aluminum thickness you refer to 0.2mm or 2mm? If it's 0.2mm, maybe cut.
