The battery is not designed to be submerged or placed near any large bodies of water. My experiment was to demonstrate how well sealed this unit is. I don't recommend you repeat this experiment as it could invalidate your warranty.

Just upgraded our home solar power to a 48v waterproof lithium battery which has been performing fantastic.
Hoping SOK comes out with a 48v unit soon. They make a great product.
Taking our old 12 volt lithium battle or batteries and putting them into service in our camper/caravan back in the states.

Thanks for watching. Yeah I was a little nervous putting the battery in the water.. Not going to lie! Could of been an expensive experiment.. The battery is currently in a off grid shed, working well. SOK already have a 48v battery. You will notice it is available is some countries, but not all.
Do I see correctly that there are no cell separators?
By way of explanation: the aluminum cell cases are at positive potential, so if two cases short together, that forms a short circuit. Only the thin blue plastic sleeves prevent a short circuit, and in a high vibration operation, they can chafe and fail. Many batteries now provide a definite form of cell separation. It appears this battery doesn't.
Is the screen grab information given out by the SOK battery itself?
Yes, it was from their website only the other week. UK currently, but to other parts of the world soon I believe.

On another note have you considered reviewing Muller energy batteries?
@@mrchrisknight315 I have not looked at there products. It seems so many people are making batteries currently. I will check out their stuff soon. I am hopefully checking out a different manufacturer in the next few weeks. I will check out Muller now, thanks for the heads up. SOK customer service seems pretty quick and responsive, you should be in safe hands. They know if they are not, people like me will highlight their weaknesses.
I knew the battery was fine submerged, there was no bubbles of air in the water coming up/out from the case 🙂

you think these batteries can withstand off road use in an off road trailer?
Thanks for watching. I would say so, as this is what SOK have intended their batteries to be used for travel. I have reviewed both the metal case SOK and the marine one which is in this video. If you check out my metal case review, check out the internal supports and bracket. Nice and chunky. I like to make a point of opening these style of batteries to see what we have.

Unfortunately this battery is not suitable to charge it with a high-output alternator, e. g. from Balmar hence the charge input is limited to 50A
no LiFePO4 battery is capable of that. They need regulation.
@@Alfonso_111 you are right in general but according to datasheet the BMS limits charging to 50A
