    Had a decent crash of my own lately. Not fun. First time crashing in 1.5 years..... broke a rib and bruised my lungs...... thankfully I was wearing gear! I don't think an any amount of protective gear would've prevented the broken rib though. Mostly thankful for my dirt bike helmet! All I remember is the sound of the dirt and rocks scraping my helmet as i slid down the trail..... then i immediately jumped up, said i was ok, and rode another 17 more miles (didn't feel much pain except my shoulders when lifting my arms at the moment.... felt 100 times worse the next day!! I learned that broken ribs(rib in my case) hurt like a bastard!

      @@caliunicyledad4986 Yeabsolutely! Exactly that! In my video you can see me bounce offa the ground before sliding(i haven't posted the video yet) scratched a lense on my 360 cam, which bummed me out way more than the broken rib haha....i was afraid of i sent it in that i wouldn't get it back until the end of riding season...... so I'm prolly send it in to get that lense replaced later in the year(depends on how annoying that scratch is and if i can wait that long) but yeah man, my neck, back, and shoulders were heavily effected by the crash. Glad you're OK btw!🤗

    • @alienxyt
      @alienxyt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have those Titans. They are a great idea but poor execution. If they are covering the part of your elbow that hits the ground, AND they stay there during the crash, they are great. Sadly, the strap system sucks. The lose their elasticity and become virtually worthless at securing them in place on your arm. I just busted my right foot in a loop-out a week ago and I didn't even realize I also landed on my elbow (and hip and ribs!). This time the pad rode up my arm to the point where the wrist-end of the pad was at the bend in my elbow. Luckily just some rash. I Have 2 months now to sit in a chair and look for new safety gear!

      I switched to these because the previous guards i had slid and offered no protection, I actually got messed up pretty bad. These have been tested a few times and performed as expected for me.

    Just recovering from a hard face fall on a jump. Lost conscious for about a minute. Lucky I was riding with my son, out in the night desert with our Dogo. Face is half swollen right now with skin rash all over both elbows, and left knee. My helmet had a small gash from a rock. I made the mistake of falling into that "full helm is too much for this trail" and wore a half-helm. I'll never do that again. Anyhow, I have the Leatt 3D EXT Knee Guards (that I wasn't wearing b/c the trail - so i thought - was too easy). Now I just need some guards that protect both elbow and forearm. These look perfect. However, I was looking at the standard LEATT 3DF HYBRID, not the 6.0 but can't find any info on the different/coverage area. Anyhow, thank you for review. Very helpful.

    Hey great Video ..Im looking at a set of these for summer Enduro Riding temps around 30-35 C or 85-95 F . I have the Titian pro ATM but they are three years old & have always moved down my arm while riding so time to replace them. My question is are they hot to wear or does the wicking material keep your arms cool. If they keep the heat in they are no good for me.
    Thanks & keep the videos coming

    • @caliunicyledad4986
      @caliunicyledad4986  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To me they aren't extra warm. The stretchy part will get sweaty but it isn't like I feel a whole lot cooler temperature wise when I take them off. I'd say that heat gain is negligible for me.

    How comfortable (soft) are the Leatt's? I've been considering the 6.0's. I love the Leatt kneepads I have (dual axis). I bought a pair of the Leatt 3DF Hybrid elbow pads and they are very uncomfortable - feel very hard against my elbow, which I don't think would be nice in a crash.

    Great video!
    I'm looking at a set of these. My elbow measurement is 12" and I plan to wear a log sleeve t-shirt under them. Can't make up my mind on either the L or XL. Your thoughts? Thanx!

    • @caliunicyledad4986
      @caliunicyledad4986  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Daryl thanks for watching I hope your subscribed to! Large measures 11"-12.5" and XL is 12.5"-14". You want them tighter rather than looser. If loose they may slide down. As for a sleeved shirt underneath if you got the xl you may need to always wear the shirt underneath to make sure their tight enough to stay up. The shirt fabric underneath could be bothersome and mess with the fit, the shirt over the top of the pads no problem, maybe an arm sleeve under would fit better. Let me know what you end up deciding, I'm curious. Cheers! Thanks for your support and feedback!

    What is the measurement of your upper arm? You ordered a size large, how well do they fit? Do you think you have the proper size or maybe a different one would be better? Leatt's size chart lists the following:
    SM: 7.8" - 8.9"
    MD: 8.9" - 11"
    LG: 11" - 12.5"
    XL: 12.5" - 14"
    2XL: 14" - 15.7"

    • @caliunicyledad4986
      @caliunicyledad4986  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The large fit nice and snug, and are very comfortable and I barely notice they are on. I probably measure at xl, but the last thing I want is even a teeny bit of movement, I need for them to stay in place. Ill see if I can find the fabric measuring tape and see what my recommended size is. I think that as long as theres no discomfort and they are snug, your good to go.

    • @utuberagain18
      @utuberagain18 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cali Unicyle Dad, I’m curious to know how your arm measures versus Leatt’s size chart. Your comments are spot-on with my thoughts too; I want elbow (knee, etc) pads to remain in place and not move or shift while riding or during a crash. I measure as an XL but at the lower end of it. I wondered if it’d make sense to order a large instead.
