South African Railways class 34GM, class 37GM and class 36GM light locomotives heading towards JHB

Diesel locomotives arrived at Lions River station waited for crossing with a Durban bound train hauled by South African Railways class 18E locomotives. Diesel locomotives departed for JHB after Durban bound train cleared the signals.

Loved the sound of the 37s pulling away at the end, I grew up in a small town along the Natcor line where they had diesel locos working around the main line, the drone of the engines working in the distance brings back good memories. Thanks for the video ✌

Thank you Tom, yes that music definitely gave the video a great introduction. You are right, there was a massive derailment at the top of Balgowan, train ran away and 4X18E locomotives and 40 containing detailed.

No my friend, these are South America locomotives. Some of the Australian locomotives are at Rovos Rail.
