- British film director, actress, mother, and muse, Rachel Ward is the better half of Bryan Brown. Rachel began as a model on covers for Vogue, Cosmopolitan and more. In 1977 she moved to the United States aged 20, four years later she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Sharky’s Machine alongside the legendary Burt Reynolds. The following year Rachel acted alongside comedy great Steve Martin in Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid. In 1984 Rachel was once again nominated for a Golden Globe for her work in The Thorn Birds. 1985 Ward performed alongside Jeff Bridges, iconic actor of The Big Lebowski fame, in Against All Odds.
Rachel has directed numerous television episodes and recently completed her fourth feature film, Palm Beach. Rachel’s children are also established creative’s: Rosie Brown is an interior designer, Matilda an actress and director, and son, Joe, is an illustrator and graphic designer.
Gracie follows Rachel as she glides through her Sydney ‘rabbit warren’ home, which includes stunning Harbour Bridge views. The two discuss directing and dating, whilst Rachel feebly attempts to hide forgotten joints.

I was IN the Thornbirds in 1982 on Kauai with RW and BB. I was in the scene with Rachel walking down the street when she was supposed to be eating something out of a paper cone. I was 19. That day I chatted with the director and at that moment I decided to major in TV production. I have two degrees in TV production and worked in prime time hour-drama television for 15 years in Los Angeles. At 40 I went to grad school for interior architecture at UCLA. I’m now a designer in LA. I still have the photos from the set that day of you both. I have many famous clients and friends here but that moment in time is still special to me. And I just realized I’ve been in a boat cruising past your home in Sydney and had no idea. Lol cheers, Kurt

I love Rachael-she's real. When she makes the comment about trying not to drink so much, l get the feeling that she's in some emotional pain, like so many of us around her same age. I struggle with that myself, as many women do. We love you Rachael.
My mom was born in '56 so I guess around the same age.
Do you have any advice for how I can support her? I guess she's struggling but not showing it.
I struggle too and am pretty much ambivalent and totally empty inside, it's hard to even care for myself and even harder to care for someone else. But I would like to support my mom if I could. But how do I do it when I don't even believe in myself.
Rachel Ward was beautiful in her hey day and she’s just as beautiful now, with no Botox or fillers in sight. I loved her in the Thorn Birds.

I write this from an emotional and spiritual state. I didn't know that Rachel Ward was married to Bryan Brown! I personally got to know both of these two magnificant people though each of their breake through love movies in the 80's - Against all odds and Cocktail. Beyond the great movies and the characters they played, I sensed something in them, some charisma and an energy in their eyes and smiles, that had to come from a warm place within. I wanted to know more about both of them, so I Googled both of them... And then, literally 5 minutes ago to my surprice I learn that those two were married! I can only say - the theory about connection through mutual vibration is real!
