Thanks man. Bottles necks are the chess game of hard enduro. Some guys fly through while others destroy themselves. You got to choose wisely 😂. Or just be lucky
lol Thanks. Just calling it as i see it. My wife can only watch about a minute then she’s on to TikTok. When the day comes and she watches a whole 10 mins i’ll know I have got just right.
Awesome riding bro. I just got back on the saddle after a 15 year hiatus from dirt bikes so I’m incredibly slow. I need to get an action cam, what are you using?
I’m using a hero 12. Get a powerful Computer if you are going to make videos in 4k, 5k or higher. The editing process can really be tough for computers with these high resolutions.
I used first a lot in slow technical climbs On bigger climbs I need to establish more momentum and just carry it up without creating rear wheel spin so second worked better feathering the clutch . In the sand 2nd or 3rd to keep momentum up
Great vid! What camera you using? Without a doubt, hard enduros are all about avoiding or getting through the bottlenecks. Not having any run up and having to sit in a line sucks your energy and ability to get momentum through obstacles! Only suggestion I'd make to you, is notice that in min 20 you're starting to breathe heavy. Thats indicative of cardiovascular fitness (your heart is working very hard to get oxygen to your muscles). Throw in 30 mins of cardio 3 times a week just sit in zone 2 for the first month. It can be anything (running, rowing, cycling) and you'll find that in a couple weeks you will FLY through these sections effortlessly because your heart can serve your muscles with enough oxygen with little effort and that leads to better riding and less mistakes.
Thanks. I was impressed by all the other riders. There were some really good guys out there. Showed me I’ve got my work cut out for me to get to their level
Next time you need to do a “before and after” of your bike ! Seriously.. it looks likes it’s been run over by a Kenworth truck 🛻 Brilliant video !!! Well done 👍🏼
She took a beating this time. Only a week and a half till Moab. I was thinking of a before and after of the tires so people can see how a gummy tire holds up
Thanks man. Starts just aren’t my thing lol. Last one off the line every time. Which I don’t get cause I practice starts but when it comes to the banner drop she gets cold feet. Maybe the starter is getting tired and slow. Then it’s confirmed sand is my kryptonite. I see a sand immediately gravity doubles down and I take a nose dive
Why shutting the bike off so much? Why not use the engine braking to aid going down the steep stuff? Loved the video! I watched the whole thing! It’s inspiring me to try a race like this some day!
I do engine off down hills to use the clutch as a rear brake. Also If you fall or lose control the bike is off and no chance of whiskey throttle. In the Moab race a guy lost his bike over a cliff and he almost went too because the lost control and pulled a little throttle. If he was engine off they wouldn’t have happened.
@@hardcoreenduro makes sense. I’ve never been in a race scenario, only ridden terrain like that for fun. Not losing your bike off a cliff is sound logic ha.
Looking at GS for 25. I’ll be on a 250FX, another rare thumper racer 😂 Did Silver Kings and I only saw two other thumpers. Love your vid, great commentary. I’m also in the 40 B group. You doing any of the WHS races for 25? GS again?
@@TylerN737s right on. We are a rare breed indeed. You get treated like a celebrity at the races showing up with a 4 banger. I’m doing GS again I’m doing the district 37 sprint enduro series this year. A couple HH’s I want to try one east coast HE this year. And I think I’ll be back at silver kings this year. We shall see. Have to stay healthy and bike has to stay running. And wife has to be happy
I love it man. The first bottleneck gave me PTSD. I was stuck there for so freaking long. Love the commentary

Fantastic. Get some conditioning in or you’ll be like me gasping for air head down on the handle bars.
@@hardcoreenduro I definitely need to get some conditioning in for sure nowhere near the shape I was in when I was in my 20s lol
Hey! That was fun. Not easy for this short Hawaiian guy! Hopefully I'll make it to Moab.
