Shamrocks Dual European Scramble B Course
Had a great race out in Spangler. It was a dual European scramble put on by the Shamrocks MC which was my first time racing that style of race. This is the morning race on the B course. I raced the A course in the afternoon as well but I’ll have that out on its own video soon. Did really well came is 2nd in my class so I was really happy about that. No injured and no bike issues it’s a win in my book. Enjoy

    Red Mountains pretty technical area. He just appoint and of course everybody has an opinion on suspension, but I find when I start swapping it’s usually because I have too much rebound dampening in the rear. When I back off the rebounding, it allows a shot to fully extend. I find that to be a bigger issue than the actual compression dampening. Something to try. I still like the M5B better but again everybody has a different opinion.

      M5b is a great time. Biggest knobs on the market and last a long time and comes in the 140. For the second race I soften the front rear compression and that helped a lot.

    Oh and Red Mountain is rough!! And not running a damper. Whoo Whee!! One thing to note in case you don't know is there are lots of hidden rock piles inside the pucker bushes in Spangler/Red mountain area. We used to wrap the ones we noticed when laying out the courses.

      You’re welcome. I like the race format of this one. As dusty as the courses are sometimes it was nice to have less riders on a course. It would’ve been terrible with more classes competing all at the same time. That’s probably why it’s run this way. And a 1hr race really just flew by. 4x25 miles loops! Woooo that will wear you out

    • @hardcoreenduro
      @hardcoreenduro 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I dont know if there’s a designated stage area there. It was my first time there. I took minarets rd up to cascadel and turned left. Cascadel is just a dirt road. Found an open clearing about half mile in and parked. Just had the truck with me so that worked fine. I try to do as little off roading with the truck as possible and let the bike do the work. If you’re wanting to park closer to whiskey falls. There is a whiskey falls camp ground right next to the water fall that you can park at. It’s open parking. Just put whiskey falls camp ground in your nav and it will take you there.

Usually $200 I tried a cheap brand that was $100 once and they only lasted 2 months so I’m sticking with Hinson But it All depends on how you ride and how change the oil out. I am currently rebuilding the ramp door on my 2015 Grand Design and I am thinking about using 8 tubes instead of the 5 you used because we haul 2 heavy Harley's and the weight isn't distributed the same way yours is.

      @@scottnance436 the door has held up fantastic. My sxs weighs 2000lbs and probably 2,200lbs by the time it’s packed loaded. It’s heavier than the original door but I can’t still lift it by myself. As I said in the video I could put heavier springs to help assist lifting it. But the winch is so nice. If you have the time and can install a winch or some motor lift system on the ramp door do it. I went cheap on my winch and that’s one thing I’m questioning how long it’ll last but so far it’s been great. I love the remote aspect too. The e-track on the outside has been great too. I’ve put my kids electric sxs’s on it. I’ve put Costco kayaks on it. It’s really nice to have that extra storage capability. My Rv is a forest river manufacturer. There transfer sections in between the tests that you cruise on and you can take a break before you start your next test. Some guys take longer rests than others. Some guys just go straight into the next test race section. It’s up to you. They had a break between the first loop and the second loop. If your fast your actual ride time would easily be under 2 hours total. If you like me I was around 3hrs of ride time. This video doesn’t include my transfer sections or the waiting break I took to start the next test.

      It’s been 2 years since I rode this trail. But looks like a big fire up there right now. I’m sure the will be closed right now. The borel fire. Contact forest department to be sure

      I’d head over across the canyon to Shirley meadows There’s a fun single track up there that has a lot of flow to it called potato patch it’s 6500-7000 feet so a little cooler up there. Then north of that the bull run trail north of Alta sierra Slightly lower elevation but for mountain bikes only.

    Great video very informative I need to fix my toy hauler ramp if you don’t mind me asking where did you get the aluminum tubing and exact dimensions on the tubing I’ll greatly appreciated it if you could help me with that thanks

    • @hardcoreenduro
      @hardcoreenduro 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The square tubing was 1 1/2” x 1/4” thick aluminum I don’t know if all you hauler manufacturers are using the same dimension doors so I’d measure yours in a small sample spot to make sure the 1 1/2” square tubing will fit. Also your door will be heavier when finished. So either get stiffer hinge springs or make a system to raise it like I did. Now mine is still light enough to lift. But my wife wouldn’t be able to lift it on her own. It Takes some engineering as each trailer is different, but boy I sure love raising and lowering it with the push of a button.

    This is such a well done video - informative & entertaining, checks all the boxes! Great idea on the aluminum box tubes. I have to rebuild mine and was going to use plywood but was worried about the weight. This looks like it will be much lighter, and less work because i would have to cut & glue multiple sheets of ply together as 4 x 8 is what I can get easily. Thanks for posting!

      The best hard enduro riders in the world are competing in FIM competition, so they need a tire with the baby knobs. Michelin is great for that but gives up a lot of soft terrain performance compared to tires with more knob height.

For off camber, dry, decompose granite, and rocky ledges my set up is Golden Tyre 90/90 up front and the IRC VE33 S Gummy out back with Tubliss front and rear.
