Hey for that Kickstarter issue you may want to ask Tokyo Off-road. He designed a BLS capacitor for the issue on TPI bikes where battery is dead and Kickstarter will not turn it over. It may work for EFI 4 strokes.
My man we've spoken before but I don't know how I didn't subscribe to your channel. I got to be honest I want to cry when I look at your channel and what you get to do.
Raychristofer I can’t remember which state you are from but I’m guessing there isn’t much riding? I always like watching your reviews. Usually when I am looking to improve my content I check out some of your reviews for equipment to get.
@@RacerRed hello racer I hope I didn't wake you up this early lol. I'm in South Florida and even with the Everglades wilderness there's no real dedicated places for riding dirt bikes. When people do find wooded areas the authorities pretty much always put up signs saying no dirt bikes or off-roading or smiling in this area. I have a BB gun and the last time I took it out for target practice in the wilderness ar anger came by and gave me a warning. This place blows man. Take me with you!
Man that sucks about the bolts. Good looking bike. I think this was by far the most honest review that I have seen on any new bike. Love the opening camera work. Stay safe
Thanks man! I was trying to be honest about the entire bike. Its a great bike but it is not perfect. Beta listened to customers and fixed a bunch of the issues for the 2020 models.
Very easy to do, buy your self a balancer/ trueing stand and weights and balance them yourself! The balance changes every time you change tires. I do mine almost ever time, really easy.
Every time, huh? I will have mine balanced but i will likely never touch it again as it is a dirt bike and i dont expect it to feel like a street bike.
Nice! I just picked up a 2016 500RS. I have two things I hope you can help with! 1) How many hrs did the shop charge for oil pump gears? 2) Did you remap with the FMF? Did you notice power difference? Bought it with a power core 4 on mine. A little louder than I like so I might throw the stock one on. Thanks in advance. Keep the vids coming!
That's a sweet bike, man. Best of both worlds. An enduro rider's love fest. If you ever wanna ride in Utah, hit me up. You're more than welcome to crash at my place.
If I remember correctly, Kyle of the Dirt Bike Channel had mentioned something about the radiator on the 20's being larger than the 19's and therefore the newer bikes do not have nearly as sharp a turning radius for of course some tight single track turns. Which I've seen one trail you hit that has a tight turn that would possibly be a problem.
I am not sure on that one. I would have to research the 2020 models a little more. I don't know if what Kyle said applies to all of the models or just the one he was testing at the time.
Also, for anyone getting a Beta, get the oversized. kickstand pad. Otherwise your first scratches will be from it falling over on a light breeze..... you can’t brag about a nasty crash when that happens.
I wonder if the Trailtech counting roughly half the actual RPM was due to it being set for a two stroke and thus recording each ignition spark ad one rpm instead of two. Also the DRZ400S is about 320 pounds wet, so way heavier than the Beta 500RR-S. Loved mine but it was a real struggle in the tight stuff.
That is definitely what was going on. It is set up for a 2 stroke from the factory and the dealers rarely fix it. Yeah, this bike is wayyyy lighter than the DRZ400 but its also more expensive!
Great video. I have the FE501 and I'm loving it.. The beta comes to mind also for a future bike but I'm concerned about parts. Have you had any issues getting parts so far? The Excel rims everyone says are good or junk in my opinion. I've flattened every single Excel I've had and on my KTM the spokes would always loosen up. The DID dirt stars have been fantastic. This bike looks sweet though and really gets me thinking about a beta for my next bike. How is the vibration?
Thanks! I havent had issues with the Excel rims so far, but fingers crossed. I didn't realize they were any worse than the Dirtstar DID's. I dont notice much vibration, but on the highway it definitely does if you dont put weights on the front wheel.
The torque spec is 6 nm or 6-7 ft. lb. Most people don't have a clue about how little tightening that is. I heard you mention the front forks and am really interested in your opinion of the new suspension system. I have a 16' 300RR and had to change to the MX-Tech Lucky cartridges and they work great. I am looking at the 20' 390 and 500 for my next bike and wonder how the forks are.
Clearly i had no idea how little that was! I have no idea how the 2020 bikes feel, but this 19 feels very plush on the trail. It would need some work with the clickers if i was going to hit stuff really hard though. I can't really give you advice on the 2020 model, but i have heard they are great bikes!
@@RacerRed But your satisfaction with the 19' is acceptable and there is room to adjust for your riding? My 16' had really bad push and I'd like to not spend another grand over the bike price if possible. I hear the same about the 20's but like to get all input I can. Thanks for your time I appreciate it.
Luzianna Long I am satisfied with it. It feels really plush on the trail and the engine hauls butt. Does it quite feel like a dirt bike? No. You can feel the additional weight. Going into it with that expectation the bike feels amazing in street and dirt.
I really wanted to get this bike but my dealer here in Twin only had 2 beta's and I didn't want to get stuck with a bike I had to wait days/ weeks to get parts. Agreed that the look is much better than the orange.
Are you running the stock gearing? A little torn whether or not to keep running the 14 tooth primary that came on the bike or switch to the 13 tooth. Haven’t tried anything to technical but have been impressed so far how it lugs with taller gearing. My 2017 RMX 450 flames out much easier even after mods to help. The Beta motor is pretty forgiving.
Ryan Hanggi , why would you want a 13 tooth on a 500cc dual sport? The whole idea of this model is a bike that is street legal IOT get you to the trails and back, and for short commutes or errands. Thus a 14 or maybe even a 15 tooth should be ideal. Sounds like you'd be better off with a 300RR or 480RR.
I have the same bike and love it. I did have to get a heavier spring for the rear shock since I weigh 200lb. My bike also reads a low rpm. Do you know where in the menu I would make the change? Sometimes wish I got the 480 race model so I wouldn’t have the Trailtech.
Not speaking for RR but I would. My 16' has had no issues have never even has to tighten spokes and I ride a lot of roots and rocks. Also if like me you are willing to travel there is my dealer in TN. that will give you a great price and he is excellent in parts supply. For me it was 500 mile one way trip but well worth it, pm me and I'll tell you the price I got mine for. Or talk to Mark at Adventure Off Road.
Hey I have the same issue with the RPMS on my 2020 500rrs. Could you please explain how you fixed it? Sweet video though it helped my decision when buying my bike.
I have the same problem on my 2020 I just picked up. Hardly ever shows above 2k rpm. Looks like on page 34 of the trail tech manual for the voyager they have the settings to change for RPM. I was going to fiddle with it and see what settings it needs to be to work. Edit: here is the link to the manual. www.trailtech.net/media/wysiwyg/pdf/9000-MANUAL.pdf
That's a possibility but i don't worry about it when dealing with anodes like stainless. Also, I definitely don't worry when it's on something that is removed often and can be replaced. There are stainless to aluminum combos all over modern bikes. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, the needle they used for the stock side stand is not going to work very well! I didn't realize they made an aftermarket pad for it.
The 2020 has the same stand but it comes with a plastic pad. There is also a guy selling a 3d printed ones for like $25 I believe.
