    Congratulations on your new acquisition! Picked up a 22 500 RRS a few months back, replaced the 2x4/seat within days. My scenario was similar to yours, KTM/501 then I discovered Beta! The thing is a beast. THX for sharing, B safe.

      I bought a 2022 XT this past summer and it has the same 2X4 seat! I think with the Trials background, Beta doesn't expect you to sit 🙂

      That is awesome John. Yeah My butt was RAW for 2 days after that little ride. LoL. I am going to use Gutts racing or Seat Concepts for a little more cush!

    You would be surprised to read in some manuals. Some manufacturers say to lock the tube stem nut against the cap not the rim. I seen a discussion on this once and the consensus was it actually helps prevent the stem from ripping under high torque or braking events

  • @RM00182
    @RM00182 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    tube nuts being loose is how it should be. You want the tube to be able tp move around up and down. Thats why you have a that cap. Great bike. Enjoy

    I absolutely luv mine I right away put new seat on and longer kickstand. Before I even rode it I tore it apart and went thru the motion’s. I have owned it now for 2 months and have 262 miles now and 80% is single track woods and I’m leaving it stock in the motor department it has more than enough to handle anything. Hopefully you enjoy it

    Cool story and video. I have similar background. Find myself in same position as far as owning machines that are fine and fun. But I am in my mid 40s now. It's dual sport bikes for me now on. Light weight is also a must. Same list of the 3.
    Been saving for 2 years. The bank is good for the rest of it... lol So I hope to have one next week. Husky is on-sale but really want a beta.

    Damn man, i only just found you, sorry im not more familiar with your channel but glad I found you here. This is my dream bike. Change the oil pump gears to steel instead of plastic and get that kick starter installed with an FMF. I would rally it man. Not as intense as motocross and still loads of fun. More challenging IMO because you can get lost quick.

    I’ve been looking at the betas for a couple years now… probably pull the trigger soon… only problem is I’ve been riding an 09 RXV-550 for years now. Will I crave more power with the beta since I’m used to my old 65-70 hp Aprilia? First world problems (I know)…

    • @DIRTADDICT922
      @DIRTADDICT922  ปีที่แล้ว

      LoL, totally. But I have never ridden an Aprilla. I'd bet with some gearing, and tuning you could make the Beta a fire breather as well. I can say the Beta will be thinner, lighter and more nimble for sure though.

    Looking to buy this bike soon as well, and im right around the corner from you in Apple valley, is it a pretty good bike for the area? couple of my friends think the 390 might be a bit more practical for some of the tech stuff but i figure for riding out to johnson valley it looks like it would be a better fit for doing it all

      Well this is THE lightest and easy to ride 500 I have ever experienced. Even feels lighter than all my older 450's. But many believe the 300cc 2 stroke is the perfect bike for trails. I love mine though..

      I live in Northern WI where we have no bike dealers. But, a longtime dealer south of me in MN is Beta now, and only a bit over an hour away. They are ordering in a 500 for me. I show 3 Beta dealers in TN, don't they have anything?

      @@TheHemiphil81 , yeah I was in Knoxville for a week training at the 489th CA BN, this was around 2009. We had rental cars and would go to lunch and get lost all the time! Seems there are hills and rivers making navigating difficult? No time to actually do anything in town, sadly. Wish we had a dealer like Knox Enduro nearby. Some dealers have rows of Beta's, some none, it's really weird. They should be able to order one with a deposit, though.

    Great video on a great bike, congrats! How tall are you and does the seat height present a problem? I'm 5'10" and thinking about getting one, but the seat height is my concern.

    • @captainamerica9353
      @captainamerica9353 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The seat is about 37" but you can get a lowering link. I have a Beta XT with a 35.5" height and it's perfect for me at 5' 11". If I ever get an RRS, I will lower it.

    • @DIRTADDICT922
      @DIRTADDICT922  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am 5' 9.5". You can adjust the ride height on the shock if you wanna lower the seat a tad. I wait till like 5 hrs of riding allowing it all to settle then readjust everything for me height.

    Hi mate, I'm waiting for the call to come and pick up my new 23 480rr (i"m in Australia). If I can be so rude I'm wondering how much you weigh? I'd be somewhere a bit north of 100kg (220lb?) and am getting a shock spring rated to my weight fitted before pickup. I'm assuming you're on the stock springs and just wondered what your experience with them has been. Cheers.

    • @DIRTADDICT922
      @DIRTADDICT922  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I come in at about 250LB fully geared up. I feel that mine is a tad soft. But it does not inhibit my riding since I am a lot slower than I used to be LoL.

    • @bushybill7189
      @bushybill7189 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIRTADDICT922 Thanks for sharing mate. I'd have to be close to your weight all geared up. I have my bike now. I got it fitted with a shock spring to suit my weight but not the fork springs (I run the same combo on my Beta 300). I test rode it yesterday and am very happy with it. There was a good combo of soft dry sand/soil and rocky sections. I too am slower than what I used to be.

    Hey great video. ... I'm looking at getting into off-road riding. I've been eyeing the rrs 390 and 500. I'm 5'11" and 230 lbs. Do you think the 500 would be too much for an inexperienced off-roader or would the 390 be enough for my weight to get me up the hills and passes in Co? I know they weigh basically the same. I'm wanting a bike that's light and that is already upgraded. That's why I'm looking at the Beta. Thanks

    • @DIRTADDICT922

      Well the 500 has a pretty mellow controllable power delivery. Is it too much for you? I can't tell you that since I really don't know your capabilities. I can say that my 8 CR450 and my 03 YZ450 hit harder.

    • @bigspy100
      @bigspy100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the info. I went with the 390 and I’m loving it. Being I’m new to off-road and short legged and not the youngest I’ve ever been I ordered a lowering kit and a Rekluse clutch from Beta. And though it's a tall bike for me till I get it lowered it’s still a blast to ride. I definitely made the right choice.

      The fact that there's no need to uncork the bike from the factory was the major selling point for me. No tuning, exhaust, etc. It's ready to go right out of the box.
