      Bill Hader is my all time favourite SNL cast member bring him back cuz he is just the best along with Kristen Wig and the guy beside her in the first "break" . Oh and everyone in the teacher snow day sketch, Samberg also.

    I'm surprised no one ever mentions the Debbie Downer at Disneyland skit. They ALL break like crazy and it's the funniest thing in SNL history.

      Ferrell didn't break this hard often and they caught him here w/ Dratch...they probably didn't want to repeat a face (+ Jimmy next to her) when they could feature other actors.

      ljm792 Yeah, it was very early on, I think it was just a general montage. It's the biggest break in SNL history, it was so memorable it didn't even need to be in this song.

    This is the bit that proved to me just how much I am not over Bill Hader leaving the show. The first time I saw it and even now every time I rewatch it, I just get so stupidly excited and happy when he shows up to sing with them.

      Bill Hader said that a friend of his writes the cards and always puts stuff in there for him to read that he's got no clue about. The reason why he started putting his hands up to his face is because he couldn't stop laughing every single sketch.

      Like these series: Boston Teens (Sully & Denise), Z105 (DJ Joey Mack), The Bloater Brothers, Nick Burns (computer guy), Barry Gibb Talk Show, The How Do You Say?, Celebrity Jeopardy and a lot of one-timers like: Cork Soakers, Extreme Wedding, The Joys of Marriage, War Horse, Beethoven and a lot more...and of course he wasn't breaking in the pre-taped ones, etc.
      He just had a soft spot for Will Ferrell & Horatio Sanz and once they noticed he was having trouble, the guys would try and make him break in every sketch...they would say things/act differently vs rehearsals, would pinch/caress him, make faces off camera, etc...they admitted it.

      Voicu Violeta He's broken on Barry Gibbs, and all the other sketches you named were when he first started out in SNL so he wouldn't break. It's when him and Ferrell became known as the leads that he started to break w/ Sanz. It was great the first couple times they did it, but after a while it got a little annoying. Like the leather sketch w/ Britney Spear. They were getting no laughs, so they started to break and the crowd started eating it up.

    My favorite instance of breaking is still Phil Hartman as Frankenstein. To watch someone who was so renowned for his professionalism become so deeply amused about the absurdity he was participating in is just sublime and hilarious.

    I love that sketch that Hader and Armisen did where they were doormen telling kids Christmas stories. As soon as it started it immediately bombed and then they starting absolutely losing it and the audience started laughing.

      +Ookler He needs to quit the shitty movies and just go back to doing live musical comedy because he was never better than when he got out that fucking guitar in his stand-up and Weekend Update. It was kind of amazing to see him go back to basics last year....SNL 40 with this and the return of Opera Man, the Letterman farewell song, Hanukkah Song Part 4. I was shocked. I thought THAT Sandler was long gone but he's still in there good as new, dying to get out...goddammit Adam.

    SNL years 1987 to 1993 were the fucking best for me --- Farley, Carvey, Myers, Spade, Hartman, Miller, Sandler
    Even though I acknowledge the original cast is widely regarded as the best of all time.

      Tom Miller '86 to '95 were the best. the late 70s cast were good, but in my opinion not as good as the '86 to '95. i'm not going to say that the late 70s cast was the greatest cast of all time because they were the original cast members. they were funny, but i prefer that late 80s to mid 90s cast.

      It's hard to get past Belushi, Curtain, Radner, and Aykroid. If I had to pick a cast I've loved the most after it would be anything during the Dana Carvey years or the newer stuff with Kate McKinnon.

    Love Sandler. My favorite SNL star. Forgot how great that 90's cast was!!!! Sooo many came out of there. Samberg is very good too. Love Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And a huge fan of everything Adam Sandler does!!! This was my favorite part of SNL40
