They do tape them. In case of emergency or if they can't use the live version for some reason. I remember seeing the dress show aired a few weeks after the live episode. No idea why.

What I like the most about him is how easily he can change his voice, and not into freaky comedy voices only, but actual normal voices. He can do voiceovers in cartoons, movies, ads, etc., and if you don't see his name in the credits you would never guess that it was him.
Hader's "NO!" at 1:24 is one of my favorite things. I wish I had a sound effect button on my phone that could play it any time I disagreed with something!
