The overflow design at 7:00 would profit tremendously from using the jgrpp mod. Programmable priority signals instead of random-looking tracks that no train can enter!
This might be a stupid question but beyond it looking bad to have a map smothered in tracks why not just skip junctions entirely and run dedicated lines from and to everywhere that needs it?
That is probably actually the most efficient way to play the game, but I don't think its much fun. Personally I enjoy this OpenTTDCoop-style strategy, efficient but on a single coherent network. And of course other people play in other ways and they have fun too :D
that works for the base game but when you run industry packs i have 60 cargo types for example and every factory needs 2-3 ingredients it would just be to little space for individual tracks i usually bring everything from primary industry's to a big center station and other trains service the factory's from there
@LugnutsK I think that the profit graph may be fluctuating, because it includes the amount you spent on building new stuff. So, when it dips, you probably just spent a lot of money on infrastructure. It would be interesting to look at a more detailed breakdown of income and types of expenditures. BTW, your videos are great, and I'm blown away by your ability to explain and design things.
That factory actually made me lol. The flat junction is a cool experiment but I doubt I'd ever use it over a normal hub. Its not even easier to build because you need to focus so much on train lengths
I'm enjoying this series. I also enjoy watching a nice speed build. I'd prefer to see it at 3x (or perhaps 2x?) the speed though so I can tell better what you're doing. Otherwise this is a great series! I'm looking forward to every upload.
TH-cam has a built in function under video settings that lets you adjust the playback speed yourself from 0.25x to 2.0x, it's absolutely perfect for when you want to slow down or speed up non commentated timelapses.
Honestly watching LugnutsK has taught me I could be playing better; never knew how to maximize factory production until watching the series, I’ve always been sticking to servicing passenger transit between towns and they’re always a massive pain to work with
I do have a video on normal industry production mechanics: th-cam.com/video/oesqMKv11hI/w-d-xo.html but I do want to make clear that the BSPI industry set I'm using changes the mechanics a lot. But the fundamental of high station rating still applies. Glad I could be helpful!
I dont know how about you guys, but for me, this is the fastest 26 mins of my life. I guess i am used to watch streams. so this videos looks so short for me :). Cannot wait till another video!
Dont remember how this works exactly but when you build a station and dont provide any service to it all nearby industries basically roll the dice every 3 months and either decrease production or close if are at lowest level or not producing ie a factory 😅
how do you create your own mountains, lakes, rivers and oceans and all sorts roads and buildings from early 19th century to present day and, as well as continents from the menus? is it possible to use google earth's to drag and paste them? graphics sorely needs a 3D upgrade.
“That’ll make sure the factory doesn’t die”
“Huh”
I died, that was too funny 😂😂
Its just insane to me how good you are at this game. I thought i knew how to play openttd before i saw this series but boy was i wrong.
Thanks! But keep in mind there are a lot of different ways to play this game and one way isn't necessarily better than another if you're having fun :D

I absolutely love every minute of this lets play, it's really cool!
It's crazy how much content you managed to pack into this episode! Certainly sets you apart from other youtubers.
Lugnuts:Why would anyone build this
also Lugnuts: thats a good question
Lugnuts too: ......
I didn't even know you can have several pulling trains :D
yay another episode ;p

I usually play vanilla like this but i feel like it isn’t as fun

Yup. Interestingly in Factorio you have to build (high capacity) junctions this way since there are no bridges/tunnels.

the timelapses are so good!
"so you might be asking why anyone would ever build this and that's a good question. ..."
Hmm how can i simplify 2L2R junctions or higher number of lines?

how can you transport coal to a steel plant and you don't have firs?
como que copia estaçao amigo
eu lembro que tem como so nao me lembro como
At the goods pickup overflow, after the depo you put a one-way signal instead of a two-way one. Everything's deadlocked.
Uh oh you noticed :D
That seems like exactly how i broke my own network
Bridge costs should be 100x :>
As if he saw it coming
