    Something that I find important and use a lot in traffic is a rearview mirror. I have one that goes on my left wrist. I find this much safer than trying to twist my head around and taking my focus off of what is going on in front of me.

      They also sell little mirrors that hook onto your helmet.

    Your channel definitely convinced me to get a EUC as soon as I can! As a student in High school, owning a car these days is basically impossible without having a side job apart from studying and you showed me, that EUCs solve basically all my travel problems. Not expensive to maintain (just the starting price is kinda insane, but still cheaper than a junk car), electricity wayyy less expensive than gas etc etc. Thanks a lot for these vids!
    Sending good vibes from Czech Republic! :)

      You will certainly save money on gas. Also, EUCs are way more fun and versatile. Happy EUCing 😎

    Put a Michelin on my 2nd Veteran after my first Veteran (OG) suffered a tyre separation due to 1st gen rims and destroyed itself at 52kph. At the time I was 136kg, so I a quite a projectile when launched from a instanious stop (I would argue worse than a cutout ). Your Kneeguards, kevlar jeans, shoes like yours, Wristbraces and a Leather Jacket (HDMC) saved me from worse injury. So happy to see more and more riders wearing the gear that anticipates an accident at speeds >35kph.

    I know that feeling at around 10 minutes, no no no.... lol, good times. Nice to see there are custom stands.
    Breaking toes is something I never considered, thanks for pointing that out. I think a backpack even without lights is even better than not wearing one when falling on your back.
    When it comes to additional gear; a plastic/bendy straw, cup and lid so you can slurp with a helmet on while riding.
    Great work and thx for the post.

    I just started at university and have been riding my wheel 10 to 20 miles per day and have been heavily considering getting Clark pads for it. Having the extra acceleration/braking control in such a busy area seems worthwhile.

    Thanks for sharing, I'm a EUC rider of 3yrs. Although the year is 2022, there are still very less information for EUC on internet. It's really helpful for someone like me. EUC is not legal device ride on the road in my city yet. We have a very small community, the information is less and rare.

    FYI make sure you use an optical smoke alarm (newer tech) and not an americium radioactive alarm (older tech).

      @@kenspaceman3938 You are right but, I will be taking every single other precautions.
      1. I will have a fire extinguisher and make sure the EUC is fully switched off and completely cut off from the power supply when stored at home.
      2. It will be placed next to a smoke alarm.
      3. I will leave it outside to cool down for 10-15min after a ride before bringing it inside the house.
      4. I will inspect the internal component after each crash to make sure its safe to ride again.
      5..I am also getting Begode EXN which will come with newest and the most stable batch, and i've not seen any major fire issue with it so far.
      If things still don't work out then I will have to blame it on my luck.. 😫

  • @Tennouseijin
    @Tennouseijin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    About broken toes, the way EUCs are designed, it looks like toes would be extremely vulnerable - going at high speed right above ground, and in case you hit an obstacle that 'just barely' misses the wheel, it would hit your toes before hitting the pedals. Also, I'm worried about ankle injuries. As such, I'm wondering why so many EUC riders, even those who wear a lot of protective gear, still seem to wear 'normal' shoes or at best something like hiking/mountain shoes.
    ... so I decided to buy motocross boots :D ... yes, you don't feel the EUC as much, so that might be a minus, but I'd rather ride with less feedback from the EUC, than not ride at all due to foot injuries.

    What do you think of buying a kayak leash to tether yourself to the wheel while riding on the street? I've had a few scares where the wheel keeps going after I jump off and worry it's going to find its way in front of a car or in a ravine.

    • @thewinter_
      @thewinter_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      don't! your wheel is far more powerful than you are, the only thing a leash will accomplish is hurtling you with your wheel into traffic. connecting two cannonballs together with chain was a tactic used in the 1600s to cause **more** damage to enemy ships, not less. plus, if you're to the point where you need to bail to stop, you probably shouldn't be riding on the street.

    Is all this gear like motorcycle jackets and pants necessary for newbies starting out? I get having a helmet with knee/elbow pads and wrist guards but I'm not planning on going over 20-30 km/h anytime soon. I'd imagine you can get the rest of this stuff over time and not right away...

    • @jamesordwayultralightpilot
      @jamesordwayultralightpilot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on temperature outside. These jackets are good for colder climates and usually act as elbow pads and chest and back protector as well so 4 birds with one stone. But if it's not too cold just get the pads and wristguards and maybe a chest protector so you have good ventilation. The pads are basically just insurance so you can ride how you want with the peace of mind that you'll be fine if you get a little overconfident. I wear my gear everytime I go out because a quick little ride to test out pedal settings or side pad positions always turns into a 20 mile ride all over town. My little guilty pleasure so I don't trust myself when I say I'm just going out to test real quick. Lmao.

    • @thewinter_
      @thewinter_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it does depend on how fast you're going, what you have is fine for 20-30 kmh. I crashed when I was starting out, going 20ish wearing only wrist guards and a mtb helmet, fucked up my knees and elbows. Just make sure what you get is motorcycle rated, you'll probably want some kind of abrasion-resistant material when you start going faster. Denim doesn't count!

  • @samuelzavala623

    that bag will protect "you" from the fire but not the house you live in. these are modeled after lipo fireproof battery bags and what those do is make sure the fire blows only upwards so that if you are standing next to it and it goes off you don't get burned but the fire has got to vent and these bags make sure the fire and all the gasses blow upwards since a lithium fire puts out tons of gasses.

      The Lazyrolling Armored Performance Hoodie is made for summer, maybe go up one size if you want a looser/baggy fit. It has Kevlar to prevent road rash, just remember to add the pads when purchasing, the Performance hoodie lets the air in to cool down.
      When the temperature is over 35-45 degrees Celsius, I use the GyroRiderz summer gloves (they have inbuilt wrist guards) & the Fox Launch Pro D30 elbow guards.

    Begode/gotway definitely has a reputation for being unsafe with the batteries they use. But there wheel are some of the best. Yes other companies are getting better, such as kingsong. But with higher performance comes the higher chance of battery fires. This is why I choose Ewheels here in the USA because they get gotway wheels shipped without batteries so you can choose what you wNt installed. My RS HS has Samsung cells and I feel very safe with it. Unlike the LG cells they tend to use stock from most companies. I'm not sure if myewheels are related to our Ewheels, but since you are and affiliate you should talk to them about the same.

      Kingsong ain't safer than Begode. Which would you rather have, a wheel that randomly locks yup and throws you flying through the air, or one that blows up from sitting on the charger too long?

    The FireSak looks cool but I' don't believe it will survive a 5 hour EUC fire. I guess the S20 fire got many of us on their toes again. After riding already over a year I just got myself a 55 gallon metal drum and will fill 1/4 of it with CellBlockX, a fire-suppression material, from Call2Recycle Inc. I hope my setup will not be tested.

You can manipulate them with your fingers to attach the chuck just don't use tools like pliers or a pry bar because that makes it easier to break it.
