I have travelled on trains in New Zealand, the UK and Europe. They don't even come close to the G trains in China in terms of affordability, comfort and facilities. The cost of a business class ticket is an absolute bargain compared to cost of business and first class tickets on UK trains and the Eurostar.
600 km/h is a very good estimated top speed for a two hour 1,094 kilometer trip. A non-stop direct ride of two hours would need to average a speed of 547 km/h. That would perhaps require a top speed maybe closer to 660 km/h. Just saying.

if you want buy this business class ticket on 12306(app). 1. some "G" title train have a type is “复” and “智能动车组” on 12306 , is the best high speed train in China now. 2. you'd better take Beijing↔Shanghai and Beijing↔Guangzhou 。on this line have 80% is this business class. other line mayme is the old high speed train,and is not this business class.

USA Amtrak (Davis-SLC) would cost $382-$915 for the same distance and take more than three times as long (15hr30mn) if it wasn't late or canceled.

It may take seven or eight years, the technology is not mature, the cost is too high, but in China, everything is still possible.
