He wrote all the songs but Hasta la Vista and Back Again, he said he wrote 'I'm on Your Side Too' to us exols while remembering all the times and memories between us ( chanyeol often holds exols hands during concerts and fan meetings and the hand size different is always cute ), While he said he wrote 'Clover' thinking of all the times he shares with his puppies and pets. since he was a kid he has loved animals so much so it wasn't a surprise to see him singing for them esp his puppy zzar he call her my daughter they have a sweet relationship
he added that 'clover' could be describing old lovers, also a cute detail he mentioned is that the -du du du ddu- reminds him of a puppy's light funny steps
The thing is that each member of Exo in their solo projects stands out for their own musical preferenced, which you will notice are varied and all excellently executed. That is very nice... I was wondering which MV we'll get next but Back Again is a great choice since it shows his rap side and opens up some OTHER possibilities for the MV. Yea it really is a great album :)

Agree, kinda sad people only mostly reacted to black out... and i think a lot of it as well came down to how SM promoted it, i know nct and exo are with separate team that manages their promotion, but if they are going to promote 2 artists' first solo debut almost at the same time, they should atleast make sure the promotions are not par from each other. No hate on Jaehyun at all (he is my nct bias) but the way they promoted these 2 are so much different and the budget is definitely also very different. People are missing out on thsi album if they don't react to thus to be honest. The album is so goood ❤

Without a doubt, AOTY! I didn't expect this album to be this good. We waited many years for it because we know that Chanyeol has incredible talent, and without a doubt, he managed to capture his entire musical essence in this album. I have to say that, for me, it is the best album I have listened to this year.

Ive always been saying that this album gives me nostalgia since I listen to radiohead, boys over girls, green day, linkin park etc when I was in middle school which is punk/pop rock like his album 🥹❤ I also love Wong Kar-wai movies, Blackout mv & music is/feels like one 🥹

Clover is a song about companion animals. Chayeol has always loved animals, and has a very close relationship with his little dog Zzar. He calls her his daughter and as a pet parent myself I am so happy that he has her as a companion. Our pets are such wonderful emotional support for us and I love that he has that. The whole album is beautiful. I can’t wait to see how he keeps evolving as a soloist ❤
Hasta la vista reminds me of Post Malone's "Circles". It has the same vibe and the melody is close to the song. Actually this makes sense, Chanyeol likes his music and he was at his concert in Seoul.
I Want to tell you, being Chanyeol biased for the last 8 years, he has been my one and only bias, that I'm so so so happy and proud. This album is excellent and just like you said, it shows a different dimension of Chanyeol than what he usually does with EXO (and we've seen it in the other members when they release their solo albums as well). I feel very happy because he managed to be the vocalist he always wanted to be, from the beginning; and of course, I anticipated that rock side that he likes so much, being an accomplished guitarist and drummer. Also, that opportunity to write the lyrics and participate in the production of his album made him very happy. My favorite song from the album is HASTA LA VISTA. The melody, the rhythm, the lyrics and his voice... made it perfect for me. I'm on your side too was written for EXOL and yes, he paints us as his little girls, EXOL is only 10 years old; and Clover was written for ZZAR, his dog, whom he calls "his daughter", of whom he is proud and whom he loves very much; she is beautiful and came into his life to fill it with a lot of tenderness. Thank you for your reaction. I knew you would like it a lot. He still has many limitations as an artist because of his arrogant trash company he is in; but I am sure that he and the other members who are still trapped will find a way to be free.
