Personally, I prefer a curved glass design to a flat screen. I don't care for endless right angles and a lack of ergonomics. Furthermore, once muscle memory develops, accidental touches will seldom happen. The tensor G3 chipset in the pixel 8 Pro is only capable of 2.8 gigahertz per second; hi tier mid-range performance. Conversely, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the OP12 is capable of 3.4 gigahertz per second; laptop level performance. Thus, the 12 will always win that battle. I've been using my 12 since February and it runs silky smooth. I had some misgivings about moving my 11 over to my secondary device but, I have no regrets. In addition, I purchased the OEM aramid carbon fiber bumper case and a black tempered glass camera module protector. Both give my silky black 12 a futuristic race car look.
@@Donni_10 if you already have a curved glass display, you should have already developed muscle memory. I've been using curved glass for years and I never experienced missed touches. Frankly, if you're that uncoordinated, all you really have to do is put a case on the device; problem solved.
Good points about accurate exposure and focus accuracy being decent. It's easy to take that for granted. I realize that I have been taking it for granted after you mentioned it.
Had mine since march 24 with absolutely no issues, £800 for this phone or £1400 for Samsung s24 ultra no brainer. Battery life is fantastic coupled with 100 watt or 55 watt with the charging dock you can get a full charge in under half an hour
I sold both my S21 Ultra and S24 Ultra 2 days ago and typing this on my OP12. It's a phenomenal device so I have absolutely no regrets except maybe for the cameras. They're not at all bad on the 12 but the Galaxies' have better cameras. Never lagged once and lowlight photos are really good. Happy Camper here!!!
Comming from Xiaomi Mi 9T pro, I've used two S24 Ultra for a month in total. Wanted the best overall phone, and apple in my country is way more expensive than samsung or other brands (to test). The camera's were very impressive, the 1x and 5x especially. The screen of the phone was impressive with that anti glare new technology. The Pen was a very cool to play with, I even managed to put the lightsaber sound when in or out. Now for the average things of it, the battery performance was ok in the last two weeks, the screen on low brightness looked very weird, the AI features only used them once when testing them. The volume of the speaker during calls was average, and in my own language some letters sounded very bad that hurt the ears (romanian). As for the bad things: the phone heats up when taking photos. The speaker is... on the left side of the phone , and it's easy to cover it with your fingers, very annoying when watching media content (except youtube or anything in landscape). The square design , was unique but very incomfortable after some time to hold, even with protection case. The charging speed was way too slow for 2024, 1h+ to charge your phone, even if it did 1-60% in 40 min, it was not enough for me. Phone itself is very huge, but also heavy. Too heavy. The personal things I never read online that made me return it, the raise to wake sensor only worked 50% of the times, the fingerprint was way too high, unnatural position of the finger can also not recognise the finger. The face unlock worked fine (fast), but if you wanted to read your notications on locked screen, you had to raise the screen up, and the distance required was too long, it took like 3-4 attempts each time. Need to mention, I returned the first S24U after two weeks, cause a better priced offer appeared with free earbuds SE as well. So it s hard to tell I got two broken devices. Perhaps if you always been a Samsung user, you might never notice some of the issues mentioned above. I'm currently testing One Plus 12, and the only drawback so far is the camera with white tones, but still better than oversaturated the S24U made, and the low volume on speaker calls. In my country, the difference between the two is 120 euro.
I am using it since 1 month, Everything is good EXCEPT FRONT CAMERA. Front camera is just below average, it struggles very very badly when capturing the background. While focusing at your face, it just destroyes the background like hell.
seems to be more of an issue with units made in India , European and US units made in China don't seem to have many issues , I have had the OP11 / 12r / 12 and my son has the Nord 4 and never had any issues
I have this phone and I use it to work and I am tired of all the errors it has, good for its price but I prefer to put a little more money and have it work well.
OnePlus has been updated and completed very well, now you can switch between all modules in 4k 60fps. I ordered myself such a gorgeous smartphone. Can I review the vivo x100 ultra in the future?
My display lasted 48 hours before it failed with a green/purple line running the whole lenght. Seems to be an often occuring issue, so keep that in mind, also keep in mind it takes 2-3 weeks in USA to get a replacement, i just gave up on it and asked for my money back after 20 days of not having a phone
got mine opposite find x 5 pro. Best phone ever period. super handy gestures like taking screenshots or minimize window(one swipe gesture not billion manipulation taps like in other android phones) great build and materials, speakers, display and if you switched like me from the iPhone - you wont miss a day. Cameras are not that superior though but I'm not a tiktoker so don't care.
oh yeah and charger - 40 min from 0 to 100. works like magic! iPhone in 2024 is still getting charged in 2 hours whilst 3 year old oppo model is doing that 60 % faster
Maybe I got a defect because my OP12 is terrible. Lags a lot, freezes constantly, especially when using Gmail and now TH-cam on occasion. The curved screen is annoying. There will be something I want to select near the edge and it's impossible for the screen to sense my finger. The screen often doesn't register my touches.
No question this is the best phone of 2024 for what you're getting for the price. When it's $300-400 less than the ultra and Pro you can't say anything bad about it. It's a powerhouse of a phone
Nah. Since i got the 24 ultra, i will never look into chinese OEMs. They always screw up somethings. Notifications bug with xiaomi made me buy a s24 ultra. They had months to fix that bug and didnt.

@@DIMEBAG666 green line - is it still going on?
@@dons1643 yes its a risk factor.
@@dons1643it isn't. if i remember correctly, right after the 1+ 12 came out, there weren't any green line issues, nor have i seen anyone face them. some times people just like to associate oneplus with green line lmfao
i really want to try this phone but i cant justify switching from 14pm to op12 esp front camera is crap on op12
It doesn’t suck … everything else destroys the i phone
Great to see you back Jared. How are the speakers? Can't wait for you to review the new Pixel Fold.
No bass but sound clear and deep
What’s the use of 8gen3 when all u can do is 15 mins of high graphics gaming
In UK i stucked on may updates, but I can see across internet, loads of people are on July updates now . Am I the only one ??
I have a oneplus with curved display and I hate curved displays :)
It just bothers me when things are in the corners , or the missclicks .
@@Donni_10 if you already have a curved glass display, you should have already developed muscle memory. I've been using curved glass for years and I never experienced missed touches. Frankly, if you're that uncoordinated, all you really have to do is put a case on the device; problem solved.
Can I see your Futuristic race car look Curious 🖤
Good points about accurate exposure and focus accuracy being decent. It's easy to take that for granted. I realize that I have been taking it for granted after you mentioned it.
God I love this phone. I haven’t gotten it yet but I’m finally ready to purchase it in the next month or so and finally upgrade from my iPhone 12
The OnePlus 13 is coming at the end of the year if you can wait
Wait for OP13
Had mine since march 24 with absolutely no issues, £800 for this phone or £1400 for Samsung s24 ultra no brainer. Battery life is fantastic coupled with 100 watt or 55 watt with the charging dock you can get a full charge in under half an hour
nice review! can you send links to the photos you showed in the vid?
On my 2nd OP and never used a screen protector. I'm in construction so keep that in mind. Not good for drops BUT Not 1 Scratch on the screen
Will it be good jumping from S 21 Ultra?
I sold both my S21 Ultra and S24 Ultra 2 days ago and typing this on my OP12. It's a phenomenal device so I have absolutely no regrets except maybe for the cameras. They're not at all bad on the 12 but the Galaxies' have better cameras.
Never lagged once and lowlight photos are really good. Happy Camper here!!!
@@JubileeRM thanks so much for your honest suggestion. I am quite sure to go for OP 12 in few days
@@simplejoy3780 you're welcome and you definitely won't regret getting the OP12. Keep us updated
@adamwood66669 thanks for your inputs it's making it easer for me to decide on this.
In my country, the difference between the two is 120 euro.
good video, your picture samples look really good, and great analysis on all the pictures and video section. Thanks
I've been using since February 4 its one of the best smartphone i ever used. Now planning to upgrade to OnePlus 13
Do you know 20 years ago went I bought Nokia never use case,,
5:35 Which game?
T3 arena 😊
Love my OP 12. I have been using One Plus since the One Plus 6T which in itself was a great phone.
03:20 bro is pretty new to oxygen OS. That's why he said the line incorrectly
yessssss he's back!!!
I am using it since 1 month, Everything is good EXCEPT FRONT CAMERA.
Front camera is just below average, it struggles very very badly when capturing the background. While focusing at your face, it just destroyes the background like hell.
Does oneplus still has those green lines over the screen??
seems to be more of an issue with units made in India , European and US units made in China don't seem to have many issues , I have had the OP11 / 12r / 12 and my son has the Nord 4 and never had any issues
As an ecosystem it is amazing as well... workd great with OP Pad 2 and Buds Pro 2
Watching this video on xiaomi 13 pro. Not sure if i shluld upgrade to oneplus 12
Looking at upgrading our OP8's when the 14 comes out, this looks banging though.
The 12 is so nice. I'm gonna upgrade once they change to a flat screen.
I wish Vivo was sold in the US.
My display lasted 48 hours before it failed with a green/purple line running the whole lenght. Seems to be an often occuring issue, so keep that in mind, also keep in mind it takes 2-3 weeks in USA to get a replacement, i just gave up on it and asked for my money back after 20 days of not having a phone
wow that sucks,,, it takes them that long to fix a known issue?
got mine opposite find x 5 pro. Best phone ever period. super handy gestures like taking screenshots or minimize window(one swipe gesture not billion manipulation taps like in other android phones) great build and materials, speakers, display and if you switched like me from the iPhone - you wont miss a day. Cameras are not that superior though but I'm not a tiktoker so don't care.
oh yeah and charger - 40 min from 0 to 100. works like magic! iPhone in 2024 is still getting charged in 2 hours whilst 3 year old oppo model is doing that 60 % faster
one of the best feature is the fast charging. ive been using the 12 since march.
7 min in and no joke? where'd the real Jared go?? 😭
That's a good thing enough with the dad jokes
Maybe I got a defect because my OP12 is terrible. Lags a lot, freezes constantly, especially when using Gmail and now TH-cam on occasion. The curved screen is annoying. There will be something I want to select near the edge and it's impossible for the screen to sense my finger. The screen often doesn't register my touches.
Please claim a warranty replacement as soon as possible. It shouldn't be happening. You wouldn't regret it.
@@asadfarraj would recommend the same 'cause this one is an unusual complaint on the 12 series
Def got a lemon
No question this is the best phone of 2024 for what you're getting for the price. When it's $300-400 less than the ultra and Pro you can't say anything bad about it. It's a powerhouse of a phone
Am I the only one with a cracked screen? Even with a case i have already cracked the screen twice. I blame the curved screen
Mine got scratched up bad. I should ve put the screen protector on
It has a pre applied screen protector
@@ttube111 yea which I took off the first day I got it

Nah. Since i got the 24 ultra, i will never look into chinese OEMs. They always screw up somethings. Notifications bug with xiaomi made me buy a s24 ultra. They had months to fix that bug and didnt.
My phone is honor x7b 5g am using it in work from 7:00am to 3:00pm and there was 65% left , But the camera ZERO megapixel , so am going to replace it with oneplus 12 👍

This phone reminds me of my note 10+ and i loved that phone had it for 5 years b4 i wouldn't hold a charge
