@rowesoc dangerous liasons isn't based on a true story, it's based on a french play and novel (the novel being written first by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos in the 18th century) you probably got it confused with dangerois minds (also an amazing film) which is based on a true story :)

agreed, just compare the 2000+ interviews vs. her 1980 interview with Johnny Carson after her 2nd movie (she was 22 years old!) It's like comparing the boring and fake Cameron Diaz of now with her amazing "performance" in THE MASK. No comparison, the bar was set so high back then.
