I want to make it very clear that the officer screaming at us does not work for the Dekalb county Sheriffs dept. He’s from Putnam county. The Dekalb county police department has been very respectful and professional and actually has no involvement in any of this whatsoever. Please don’t leave a bad review for the Dekalb county sheriffs department, they’re the good guys!!!

It doesn’t matter. The guys that gave you a hard time did so because a cop told them to. It’s obvious they were looking hard for something.
On a side note, we were pulled over on an Ohio lake one time because we were “swimming in the lake”. Evidently you are supposed to be in a swimming zone unless you are skiing or tubing. Sounded like a bunch of nonsense then and now.

The main issue is that the jackass on the boat sent the TWA out there like his personal henchmen. This is all because of his power trip.

Are we certain the A-hole on the pontoon boot can be connected to the water cops? If so and a connection can be proven then I think whistlin ought to leverage that vast vault of TH-cam cash to sue the living socks off the entire system top to bottom.
Now I’ve gotten a couple citations for “splashing” on a PWC. It’s called speed in the proximity of another boat or watercraft and it’s a good law. There are some really gnarly wrecks out there of boats and PWC colliding.

Yep. Cops do that a lot in regards to our rights. Like the whole needing a permit to carry a firearm. They'll say they agree you have the right to do it while taking your gun and charging you felony charges. That's a whole other story I can get into, that nearly ruined my life.

Hey man - this is old news now but thanks for bringing this to light. When I was a freshman in college I got a class A for "racing" even though the cop clocked me doing 45 in a 45. I got arrested, spent thousands, and a few years on probation for it. Got railroaded through court with no idea what was happening, and I couldn't afford a lawyer that would give me the time of day. Come to find out they didn't even charge me correctly (what they actually charged me with had nothing to do with racing, and was something related to horse racing/gambling?) - so I managed to get it expunged from my record 10 years later. Never got the time, money, or lost jobs back though. I generally agree with the legal system and and sympathize with law enforcement - but when it goes bad, it goes bad. Thanks for bringing this kind of abuse of power to light!

It's because it's not. That's a corrupt DA that's trying to pressure the prime suspects into leaning one way or another on stuff like that. It's like corrupt lawyers who tell you it's in your best interest to plea guilty even for lesser charges because it's not worth the risk even if you're innocent. That's corrupt too. It's actually in an innocent persons best interest to plea innocent even if their lawyer hates them for not making his job easy and you also get more court ect. At least in the end if you're really innocent you'll hopefully survive. If you plea guilty for lesser charges for something you didn't do then you get charges for something you didn't do and you're guilty and everyone will say you're guilty, when you're not. Also if that happens I'd tell the judge you've lost confidence in your lawyer for trying to lead you to be guilty rather than trying to help you defend your innocence and they'll push the trial back and give you time to find a new lawyer and they can catch up and figure out the situation. At least hopefully. In a corrupted justice system you're also likely to just be treated like you're Satan for the most minor of offenses no matter how innocent you truely are. And thus jurisdictions law enforcement already appears to be leaning that way. So if the case doesn't go the right way because the court is corrupt then he can appeal the case up and up. Hopefully he's in a jurisdiction where he won't just end up with some triggered loser who's mad he had fun on a jetski that'll throw him in prison forever for not helping those cops sweep their fishy behavior under the rug by complying for boater saftey.
If his crimes were so bad they have to threaten long term drug tests, a spy to watch him constantly, wrapping up all this money, they definitely wouldn't be willing to throw it all away if Cody promotes boater safety for them. Screw them, they probably have dirty deeds in all the boater safety courses too, why else would they promote it so hard? They're obviously pushing it pretty hard and they seem to persecute more than Cody for splashing water as it appears they're so well rehearsed with this whole bad cop good cop "we'll drop everything if you do boater saftey promotion but if not you're screwed" interrogation. If the cops had any sense they'd have just dropped all charges and walked away with their tail between their legs. They stopped looking for robbery to go deal with a mad sheriff on his day off because Cody didn't let his bullying go unnoticed. Clearly a bunch of crooked cops. Theyve got all this BS tying up the court system because Cody was behaving on a jet ski how 99% of people probably would. Splashing water, going around, having fun, ect. Who goes to the water and doesn't splash? Guess it's time to ban squirt guns because oh boy one time kid took in in the eye right?! 😂 What a joke. The lawyers are supposed to be proving people guilty or innocent, not interrogating them in dark rooms about how if they plead guilty and promote boaster saftey "it'll all go away" smells super fishy to me. Are the cops going to make people sign up to squirt gun safety courses and get permits to have fun?!

The big issue here is the fact the citations were issued as a retaliation to the conflict with that other deputy.
That should be in the light the most. Did the other officers truly witness the "splashing" ?
Because if they get on the stand an testify that they did and you can prove they didn't, that puts them under a "giglio" status and they will never be able to swear to testimony again. That will end their careers...

I doubt the officers saw it; the bystander (sounds like he was off duty - but his word will hold weight since he is an officer in the eyes of a court) they will have to get the bystander (off duty cop) to make a statement saying he saw them do X. In that case; (as judges normally accept the word of an officer - regardless if they are off duty). In which case WD will get a charge dand found guilty. Therefore; WD should of counter offered to drop charges against the college student and that he will do the boat course to get the remaining charges dropped against himself. Guess WD or his stupid lawyer doesn't understand when they try to make a deal and an offer you CAN COUNTER OFFER. Whoever WD's lawyer is a FUCKTARD for not doing that. I just feel bad for his friend losing his college free ride because WD/lawyer was stupid - he should offer to pay for his college if he loses it. Also; still a decent chance the pro drops the charges as it isn't really worth it to them for bad press over very minor charges. Shocked they didn't drop it after finding out who he is unless that off duty cop pulled some strings which I'm betting he is.

EDIT: I believe the DA making you an offer that's outside of that which the legal system can provide is literally circumvention of justice also.

Little did she know, the county was going to press charges for trespassing---EVEN THOUGH she had permission from the owner. It -did not matter-, and she went to jail for about a year. It altered her life. This was when she was in her early 20's too, and was a really hard thing to recover from.

I probably just don't have the details to be asking this, but if she was on private property with the owner's permission, the only way she could be charged for trespassing is if the property owner pressed charges. So, whatever crime she was convicted of, I don't see how it was trespassing? Did they add some other charge, or claim it was public land? If the building was officially condemned, I suppose it's possible that was a factor.
However it happened, assuming it's as you say, I'm very sorry for your friend. Rich people commit horrific crimes, but money makes it go away. Our justice system shouldn't run on money.

This literally happened to me. But my dad and I didn't have the power to fight back and had to take a deal in order to keep trucking and making money.
In the state of Connecticut they don't use electronics to tell truckers to enter scales. I was new at the time and didn't know, my license clearly showed I was new to it. And still the officer didn't budge even though no other states on my side of the country operate like that, only a few states do this. Anyway we went to court, and I showed proof of my "EZ Pass" pinging off the electronics they had up. It gave me a green. Instead of admitting they were wrong they offered me a deal. instead of paying 200 bucks on my ticket and having it show on my record, I could instead "Donate" to their court house and have the ticket magically disappear. At the time I knew this was wrong, and I was in the right. But I didn't have the means to fight back. Especially for truckers. Small stuff on your record can ruin your business so I let it go. Small courts are corrupt AF. I hope you fight the good fight Cody. For all of us who couldn't. #FREECODY

This is exactly what I've been saying for the last few years when discussing relocation with friends and family! I've been in Tenn for long enough to get this vibe, and others who research the topic, warn of high corruption and the good'ol boy network among "law enforcement" and politicians! Of course there is corruption everywhere, but it's a little deeper in some places......
In north Idaho and western Montana, where we plan to relocate, this kind of crap just won't happen as a rule! Any cops I've interacted with, would be embarrassed to act like this!
Most people from my extended family on both sides are moving to the south to get out of NY state!
Please note! : UPSTATE NY! NOT NYC! VERY BIG DIFFERENCE that many people more than two states away from NY don't seem to know about! Lol!
Anyway, we're all leaving because of the political and taxation insanity!
I'm going to n Idaho, or western Montana! Is land crazy expensive? Yes! Do I think I'll ever have to deal with this kind of crap from cops, and local judges? No. And when the shtf I won't have to worry about the majority of my neighbors stealing from me! You can NOT say the same in most of the south......

Same thing happened to me and my fiancé we were driving to the store to get munchies at 1am. She was going 10 over the speed limit the cop pulled us over. Said she was doing 30 over then said she failed to use her right turn signal. Then wrote her a ticket before he gave it to her he said he cut her a break. The second he handed to her I looked at it and said what brake are you talking about. This ticket is going to possibly have her license revoked. He said he didn’t write down that 1 of the license plate lights were out. I was like REALLY how about this put the light being out on the ticket and remove the other in fractions. He said he couldn’t the ticket was already wrote. I was speechless and extremely angry so we decided to get a lawyer. Ended up having the ticket dropped but what really pissed me off is the judge said my fiancé was getting the deal of the century. I was like WHAT the cop lied multiple times and because I was smart enough to get her a lawyer to fight it. She was getting the deal of the century but yeah the pigs always say they are giving you a break. How is basically writing a ticket that’s going to revoke your license till your 27 cutting you a break. I say 27 because if we would not have fought that ticket no insurance company would have covered her at a reasonable rate till she was 27. I believe the cop was mad because we were not drunk or high. We were honestly wanted some sweets nothing more. But that’s what these cops have become in my opinion they are cosplayers. They want to dress up and play a bad ass but when real shit happens they are nowhere to be found. I have to add if her license being revoked till 27 would have happened. That would have definitely caused MAJOR issues for the rest of her life. All because of doing 10 over on a Saturday night going to get sweets. I am sure this kinda of crap happens to other people. But those people may not know to get a lawyer or don’t have the money for one. So in my opinion what happens is cops lie really cause major damage to peoples life. Then wonder why dose the general public HATE us. Well let me aim to sum it up because you lie and ruin honest peoples lives.

Diesel has been a real eye opener for me, because i can relate to him in a lot of ways. I look a lot younger than I am, so people treat me like I work at weenie hut jr. They don't assume I'm actually smarter than them, which he is in this and many other cases. Diesel has outsmarted everyone he's shown on this channel. Love to see him get justice done.

The ticket was retaliatory to begin with. A judge with common sense at most would require the accused to take the boater safety course and dismiss the charges after the course was completed plus require court costs to be paid.

And if youre smart and its a great deal you take it knowing they arent going to offer it again.
Cody refused their deal and is now preparing to go to trial with a defense that revolves around ignorance of the law, i. e; "I didnt know it was unlawful to speed through a no wake zone".
Whoever is giving him legal advice, should be fired. Seriously.

When i was 19 lost my license for 12 months for no insurance on a motorcycle (3 days lapsed insurance), 40 hours community service, and $500 a year surcharge for 3 years. Wasn't in an accident or anything, got a lawyer, no prior incidents.
The guy right before me in court crashed his car, ran, and got caught and had his blood drawn at hospital and was way over legal limit. Got his license suspended for 6 or 8 months, less community service, same surcharges. Blows my mind....

    • @willishadams
      @willishadams 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That doesnt seem true. You got pulled over for something with no insurance. You had terrible insurance that drops you immediately after non payment. You accepted community service instead of paying a fine. You had an SR22 for 2 years and had to pay extra for the high risk insurance. Seems fair when you're riding around with no insurance and no ability to pay for accidents you may cause.
Someone who gets a DUI and flees the scene may only get a 6 month suspension but they would have had to pay much more than you in fines, had actual jail time over their head, and been placed on probation for years after.

@@mikereiser2776 I dunno. You told everyone in your original comment. Just didn't sound true the way you told it lol. The minimum fines for the other guys charges would be a lot more than yours. Go with progressive they're the best for motorcycle insurance and won't cancel on you if you miss a payment.

    • @thatmeme1360

@@willishadams lol dude would have had a $2500 fine , and maybe 3-6 months of jail time, jail time probably had time served for him being a DUI they would most likely have been detained until court. Any time not served in jail was probably the time for community service.
He could have had evading and other charges as well, set aside.
But alot of motorcycle insurance companies won't insure you unless you are already licensed. Leaving a huge grey area in the motorcycle legislation. There are motorcycle dealership like Harley-Davidson that provide training classes and rentals for your tests, which helps fill in the grey a little bit with their private insurance.
It's a little bit different but the charges Fine Value was relatively comparable.
