I love this show I used to watch it with my dad as a kid. Having said that almost all of the statements should've been thrown out in court lol. Anything said after you ask for a lawyer isn't admissible in court and it's against the law to continue questioning after someone lawyers up. It is a great show but damn the good guys used dirty tactics 😂
One of the best episodes from the bobby simone era... The perp walked into a jackpot at the house when simone recognized him... Then they set him up using diane as bait.. Brilliant..

The *only* critique I personally have (my opinion) was how many characters were written out by dying. Won't say more due to spoilers, but it was the only thing across the length of the series that irked me. Brilliant show!
@@Joe-rw1bb I'm a fairly recent convert. I don't watch that much TV, didn't see NYPD Blue during its original run. I've watched most of the re-runs. NYPD Blue is just one of the best. Andy Sipowicz is of Shakespearean dimension and Dennis Franz approaches that level of skill and nuance. The other characters and their players are not far behind.
People who avoid death penalty and imprisoned for life cost millions of dollars. This man is obviously guilty. Not a cost- effective ratio. Perhaps the state should be as fair to him as he was to his victims.
This is not realistic. He asked for a lawyer repeatedly. Anything he says afterwards is not admissible. This is rinky dink police work. The DA would have a fit.
It's amazing how so many people who had small roles on NYPD Blue became big TV stars down the road.
