From non-league football playing for Stockbridge Park Steels, Halifax Town, Fleetwood Town, he worked his way up the English football pyramid to play for Leicester City in the Championship, where they were promoted, avoided relegation and won the Barclays Premier League in 2016. It is fascinating that Vardy seems to get better when the divisions get higher: played good in the 7th tier, scoring about 1 goal every two matches, very good in the 6th tier the next year with 25 goals in 37 matches, and then right-out incredible in the fifth tier with 31 goals in 37 matches 😂
