i think he's more of a drinker based on the fact that not only is he drinking in almost every interview but also his body language and speech suggest that he drinks. also, he has such a good voice and can hit so many high notes that it would not really be possible to support such a heavy weed habit.

not strange at all, its called magnanimousness, even though he had to fire nick they started the band together and he wanted him to appreciate the bass parts as a bass player and his main contribution to queens he would naturally care about it
