When she is home alone, she goes in her cage with a padlock, since she knows how to open the latch on the catch. A few days after we first got her 2 years ago, we learned we needed to lock the cage, when we came home and she was siting on top of the cage! And later video evidence proved she knew how to operate both latches of the cage door to get out.
Rachel's wings are clipped. A painless procedure that can limit their flight. However, even when clipped she could fly at times. Whenever I have her outside, she is always in my sight.

Do you ever have to watch if she flies off out the door or window?
