Iranians are bananas for their attempt selection and pure intensity and grit to make some of these insane attempts. Honestly that is equal parts crazy and impressive.
Enjoyable comp. I like to see guys come from behind and win on their last attempt. This class was kind of playing second fiddle this past quad because it wasn’t held at Paris but there were a couple excellent totals. Won of Korea had an off day today but his 389 at Phuket was the best total of the year. Korea had 2 excellent 102s so I guess that’s why he was lifting at 96 though 391 got 10th place for Paris at 102. I’m guessing everyone here is going 98 along with Karlos so it should be an interesting class.

What the athlete from Kazakhstan did was definitely not easy but it was impressive. I think each athlete gave it their all on each lift though. Also this is kinda sorta unrelated to the video but will WH be coming out with more knee sleeves and apparel in different colorways in the future?

In fact, Karlos Nasar, with his results in this World Championship, could win: gold in the 96 kg category, bronze in the 102 kg category, and silver in the 109 kg category. Not to mention that he was very close to adding 3 more kilos with that 225 kg clean and jerk. All of this while weighing 89 kg.
Karlos already out-totaled both the 96kg and the 102kg gold medalists at this world championships as an 89kg lifter. Now imagine even more weight on him.

I agree. This is a no brainer for me. Karlos isn’t going to get weaker going up in weight.
