  • Hey guys and girls!
    Here is a quick, easy install of the Safari Snorkel on my MQ Triton.
    I purchased the snorkel from SG OFFROAD and installed it at home. This snorkel will not only benefit for deeper water crossings but also getting cooler, cleaner air in the engine on those long and dusty outback roads.
    This isn't an in depth step by step guide, its just showing you how i installed it to my Triton. It is quite a simple install, just take your time and follow the instructions. If you have any questions, throw them in the comments and ill get back to you.
    Thanks for watching!!
    CAMP THE COAST
    Rhys.

    Few tips if ya don’t already know. Can use ear buds to paint the drilled holes and a bit of flyscreen between the grill and pipe on the air intake end

    Lol the relief when the intake hole actually lines up 😂

    Granted this video was a while ago, great job on sealing and riveting together the air box and piping. I really appreciated that touch, love it.

    Hey Rhys,
    Great vid mate, gonna get stuck into having a crack for myself. What was that paste you applied to the holes once they were all cut out?

      Thanks mate!
      I just used a silver rust proof paint after a cut the holes in the guard.
      Goodluck! You'll be right - just take care when your cutting in the guard and flare but take extra care when you drilling into the pillar.

    Curious to know if anyone has gone from stock Mitsubishi triton snorkel to safari? What his installed is what I want for my MQ but I know the drilled hole on the stock is completely different to what safari snorkel placement is meant to be

    What did you use for preventing the rust when u drilled ? And what type of selicon you used for seal?

    • @campthecoast3353
      @campthecoast3353  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I just painted the holes using a rust kill paint, and the silicon is the wurth 3 bond sealant because its dpf safe

    Interesting decision to seal up the water drain. Was that in the instructions?

    • @campthecoast3353
      @campthecoast3353  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The instructions state it is the fitters decision to block it or not. Water can still get in through the drain holes in deep water crossings so that's why I plug it. And any small amount of water that might get in should be picked up during regular maintenance.

    • @Crabman_87
      @Crabman_87 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@campthecoast3353 that's fair enough. I plan on installing a wedgetail airtec in the coming months so with that design I definitely wont be blocking the drain haha

    anyone give me a hand? just fitted my Safari Snorkel and im getting the Ironman bullbar w/ side rails and steps fitted, just curious if the Snorkel will be in the way. cheers

    • @campthecoast3353
      @campthecoast3353  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      General rule of thumb - you've done the right thing, the snorkel should always be fitted first! Because the distance with the side rails can be adjusted to suit a snorkel. If in doubt , just mention it to the installer first.

  • @shreckm6470
    @shreckm6470 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just had mine fitted by ARB and they drilled all the holes for the wrong snorkel and not the Armax so I wish I had done it myself now its off to the panel shop at there cost but still very disappointing.
