I've been reading Lewis and his editorial products all of my adult life. He is primary in much of my education and I consider myself luck to be born in the Age of Lapham.

For a person whose higher education was concentrated in physics, I find Mr Lapham an invaluable source of expansion into other areas of thought.

People in physics have such a wonderful view of mystery in our universe. It's always fun to talk with these people. Good for you.

Thanks very much for sharing this excellent, thought provoking presentation by a genuine, truth-seeking, truth-speaking nobleman. 👏👏👏 The Truth will as they say, set us all free (from the lies of the fools who dream of permanent wars based on deception & greed - and all the associated wastes of human & material resources).

A slow unfolding of important truths. As I am a slow listener, Mr Lapham's presentation suited me very well. Highly recommended to read Mr Lapham in the Harpers archives.. You'll need to take out a subscription to Harpers, but it's well worth the money. Lewis Lapham is beyond price.

What a brilliant mind, intelligence, insights, compassion, wisdom, modesty and humility. These are surely the qualities required in our leaders but a democratic system cannot ever elect such outstanding people and if such exceptional people were elected the media, in its present form, would denigrate and rubbish their every intention. We are all aboard the maiden voyage of the Titanic.

I am a fan of this older way of speaking, slow, meticulous and direct.

"The irony abounds" when Bard College talks about "Truth". Fortunately Lapham is Lapham and truth will prevail.
