Nice truck. At least you have the correct one. I owned both the Chevy and the Ford. Ford at that age is extremely better. The distributor is in the front of the Ford. With Chevy in the back. It makes it hard to replace. Plus time.

did you bother to check the filter on the bottom of the pump to see if it was plugged up?.....
