Potash really brings it every time. I think him bringing up Creed Humphrey to KC hopefully means we finally draft a Zach Frazier or JPJ this year. Build the trenches- especially the OL. The Lions followed that recipe and they have made Goff look good, which to me is amazing.
Select a WR or left OT at #9 if Poles loves one. If not, trade back to #17 or #18 and select Jerzhan Newton or Byron Murphy, and pick up a mid 2nd round pick. There isn't a DE worth the #9 pick in this years draft. Poles can get a 3rd down pass rush specialist later in the draft to help next season.
Some of the best gm’s in nfl history have stated, “you draft best available not for need”. If Rome is available draft him. He would be Wr1 in most drafts if Marvin and nabers weren’t in it

Whilst I rate Odunze very highly, I can't see this happening at all and don't want to give up future draft capital, especially when it is supposedly a stacked class next year.
If the Bears don't address the O line in the draft, the rookie QB will be destined for IR. Alt at #9 would be a steal.
If Caleb gets hurt you have Bagent.

Their O Line is still just Ok. And not a lot of depth. If they grab a high end OT or OL then I’ll know this isn’t the same old Bears and they actually realize the value of Caleb Williams and are committed to his success. At least it’ll be a good starting point.
The Ryan pace thing, the child thing to do would be taking the WR. The adult thing would be taking an OL or ED. If they plan on being great, they can get a top tier WR later or next year. It hard to find great DEs outside the top 10

Bagent is a capable back up.
It isn't about whether he can play or not it's his inexperience to be able to speak to Williams about situations before, during and after the game. It's the same reason why in baseball they always pair up a young pitcher with a veteran catcher or in the NBA they always have at least one vet who doesn't really play that much but has been around long enough to help bring along a young star.
@kenyattaclay7666 I'm not completely disagreeing with you on your onalgy with a Vet, but that is the QB coach and Shane Waldrone job and going over film. If that's the case what happened to all the other QB'S the Bears have had in the past. Bears went through over 3 dozen QB'S in 35 years.

The best way I can explain it is when a young military officer is a brand new butter bar they are attached to the hip of a senior NCO who is below them in rank not the OIC that is above them in rank. The simple fact is, it’s just life & you see it really at every job. It’s not just about the X’s & O’s. If you ever saw the movie Bull Durham the reason why that movie resonated so much is because every Nuke LaLoosh needs a Crash Davis in the times when the coach isn’t there as well as during the game.

No, as much as I would love Odunze, or Nabers, or Mitchell, or BTJ, the Bears Dline issue is huge. If Sweat gets hurt, they got no Dline, they got no pass rush. They have one guy who is a legit pass rusher, they don’t even have a pass rush specialist in the rotation. They got Sweat and that’s it. Paper thi at End, thin at DT as well, and major lack of talent, they need to go Dline. If they are smart they Draft Murphy, Verse is like a poor man’s Sweat, same game, just not as big, fast, bendy or athletic. Hell everyone is wowed by Turner and Sweat was even faster than him. Plus 6’6 270. Sweat was a better prospect than Verse and was taken 26th, people are reaching for these ends, they are not special, they all major flaws, they are all undersized, only one of them is legit first round athletic, but lacks everything else you want in an End cause Turner is a LB. Latu is an average athlete, kinda small, decent bend, short arms, lacks power. He’s pretty much the Chris Williams of defensive ends.
Gotta just take him if he falls to nine.

Playoffs are expected this year. JF1 would have put the Bears into the playoffs this coming season. Barring catastrophe, Bears w/Caleb should absolutely make the playoffs.

Tell that to Keenan Allen. His 40 time was slower than Odunze's, and he's managed to do quite well in the NFL.

Rome is overrated. Ill support any draft pick outside of very few but they're better off trading out or drafting DE, OR EVEN trading up a few spots for Nabers if able.
I think you’re right. I don’t think he gets separation. it seems like he can catch, but if he can’t separate in college then how can he do it in the nfl. His route running isn’t that great either.
I think there will be two great wr that come out of the draft and it’s Harrison and Nabers. There’s a big drop off after that
