I wrapped my treestand with that type camo burlap and then wrapped it again over that with the 3d leaf camo wrap stuff from Academy. Stops the see-through from the ground, and the 3d leaf cut-outs breakup the silhouette.
“Is that up to code?” 😂
Very smart and inexpensive solution. 👌🏻 Nicely done.
In East Texas, we use this from old Walmart.
"Mossy Oak Breathable Camo Netting, 12' L x 56"H". Made by the Allen Company.
Not Burlap. And also a camo umbrella that screws to the tree. I've been using it for years.
Great invention to save a few dollars and i think it will definitely do a good job for hunting season , most people don’t give credit how good deer actually see through the woods .
I am super appreciative that you filmed this for us. Always entertaining.
🙏🙏🙏 appreciate you watching
That is going to be really cool Hootie just be sure it's anchored good my friend
I did something pretty similar, but I had a bunch of PVC pipe left over and that’s what I used. burlap worked out great. I also wrapped the bottom of my stand with the camouflage tarp, and it really works out great helps keep the wind out
There you go. Use what u got
Saw the drill briefly and thought it was your hi point yet cannon. But it looks great, necessity is the mother of invention. Definitely have enough room to cock a crossbow in there. Like a tree house for adults.
😆😆😆🦌🦌🦌
I have used the burlap for years on my ground blinds( I only hunt from the ground).
Thanks I missed the premier, but caught the video a little later. I love the hunting prep stuff. This is the kind of stuff I do all the time. In fact tomorrow I'm heading out to take two tractors with mowers on them to mow all the roads, food plots and trails on my 350 acre lease. We'll be mowing all day Saturday and some Sunday and then taking the tractors back to the camp. I haven't even started on disking the plots yet. That and planting is the next step.
Awesome! I love all the deer work stuff
That's an awesome build. Man hunting has come a longway since the old 2x4 nailed to the tree lol
Stopping the light from coming through from the top and back it will make it so you can't be seen from out side but can see through better
👍👍
Ive used that same walmart camo wrap for years….a few zip ties…and change it in less then 10 minutes if it gets all nasty or ripped up from critters or wind. Cant beat it…..My Late father and Uncle used to do the same thing…thats where i learned it. We also use old fake Christmas tree branches on our ladders….to hide the rungs or angles.
I may build one of these just to go in to get some peace and quiet and just disappear for a few hours
Always have shelter available, definite way to stay warm and dry!
Very true!
For your roof use an old plastic bedliner drill holes and zip tie it down. You’ll be protected from the rain. Cut it to size
American ingenuity!!! If you can find someone throwing away an old above ground swimming pool the hard siding walls of the pool make awesome lightweight roofs for what your doing. There is also enough you can do several small stands like you are doing. I have it on box stands too.
Two of the most successful deer (not to mention hog and cayote) hunters I know started off with "plain jane store bought" stands like you did and worked their way up to nicely modified stands that are really, really hard to spot unless you pretty much know exactly where to look for them. Almost all of the "camo" they used came from dollar type stores in the form of fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas decorations (think plastic leaves, garland, etc.) with some cheap rattle can paints, scrap wood purchased for cheap from a couple of local big box home improvement stores they created some really nice hunting stands that did not break the bank.
Good to have something to keep the rain off of you, . And the deer from seeing you. Thanks for sharing 👍

My suggestion would be make sure it goes up early summer when leaves are still on. I have a commercially made one and tried it for several years in a couple of stands in woods that are fairly open. As soon as the leaves thinned out the deer stopped using that area. The thing stuck out like a sore thumb. You could see it 50 yards away. Stopped using it and they were back using those runs the next season. I think if it can be left year around like a box blind they will get used to it. Something that big even in a tree showing up that hasn't been there makes them shy away.
Looks good. Nice idea.
Zip ties ,one of the best things ever made ,very handy for anything
Absolutely
Put some black tarp for the back and sides and top maybe. It will make you a lot less visible inside.
I have thought about it but haven't taken the time
I like the budget blind...lol some stands are "WoW high. Thanks for sharing the idea of modifying on a budget.
I hear ya. Stuff is way more than I can afford
Man might wrap it in cerain wrap and paint it camo if the paint didn’t melt it lol I’ve seen videos of dude’s wrapping little cabins with it and camping out in ‘em maybe find some wide rolls somewhere!! : )))?
Put a center support to elevate the tarp so the rain doesn't pool in the roof.
That is why it is angled and tight. So it runs off
Awesome 😎 I love diy stuff 👍
Thanks for watching
I made mine out of an old 2 wheel army trailer. A little propane heater and I’m good to go 😎
Awesome
Great idea. I am going to put my new tree stand up later this month and was wondering about camouflaging it as well. I am not sure if I will do a top cover. I think if I do, I will slope it back a bit for water to run off and not make it sag over my head. I'll let you know how it goes.
So after thinking about it, I am going to (before setting it up in the tree) prefab it before it goes in the tree so I don't have to do it on the fly. It will be a plug and play connector type set once it's in the tree.
go to your big box store for building materials. They will have large canvas drop clothes for painting . They are white. Check Wally World or a craft store for clothing dye. The brand I got is RIT. Pick out the colors that you want in your camouflage scheme. Spread the canvas out on yor driveway or lawn and pour the dye out on it, use a small broom or a paint roller to spread it out the way you want it. Use the garden hose to wash it down if you want or the clothes line or shooting range fixtures to hang it over to dry.. you can use the material to make a gilly suit if you add strings to break up your outline or use it for your deer stand or another structure that you want to disguise
If you want a natural earth color to use as a base. Make a batch of really loose mud and then stomp the white drop cloth into it. I used that to stain mule tape into something less day glow white
If you close it off (roof, back side covering) so that light can't come threw the back side of the burlap it won't be so see-through. I think.
Thank you. I was kind hoping it was a “blind stand” like that!
👍👍
Man I’ll fall asleep in there lol
😆😆😆 it definitely is cozy
Good job !!
👍👍
Really cool love your videos thanks
Thanks for watching!
Nice job, I wonder how well PVC would work. It would be quite a bit lighter, and you could glue all your 90° and T's in, still zip tie it to the stand and get some PVC hangers to screw it into the tree. Coat difference would probably be negligible though, and while it wouldn't rot like wood eventually will, it would probably warp a little over time
Pvc work good
Looks like it should be a darn nice hide
Definitely helps reduce the deer seeing any movement!!
👍👍🦌🦌🦌
Nice ! Maybe get a grommet kit to customize it and use rope/bungee to lash in place , stronger than staplesand not leave metal stuff for critters to injure themselves.
Cool stuff! 😀
There all fun videos
Thanks for the video!! I love seeing deer season prep videos!! Please keep up the good work!!
Thanks for watching
That will make a great hide for turkey, deer, etc...
🦌🦌🦌🦃🦃🦃
If you can find some old tennis court wind screen that's the ticket. That burlap is 1-2 seasons max.
Wa Yea!!
Blind on a budget👍 Thanks
Looks good, I hope that thing holds 350lb plus.
Very awesome something to keep in mind in my stand great job
Nice
Cool
Who Tee Who ASMR
😆😆😆
I’m about to do the exact same thing today. I have the exact same set up except my stand is on the tree that’s on the corner of the patch of trees so I’m completely exposed. I’ve got the same burlap and everything.
Awesome!
Looks pretty solid.
💪💪
Great Stand
🤘 😁 🤘
You might want to think about an pice of plywood for your roof. cause any rain or snow that's comes along that tarp is going to droop.
Plywood cost a bunch of money. The roof is angled and pulled tight. It will run off
Camo tarp might be loud.
Great job dude good idea should gòd
I got luck and bought a deer stand with a enclosure at a yard sale for a 100 bucks ,never been put up
Wow awesome
@@WHOTEEWHO gotta love red neck yard sales
Think it’s designed to shoot though
Not worth the risk of me trying it out 😆. Pretty hard to see through
Karel good evening sir 👏👏🫡🫡🫡🍺🍺🍺
Heyo
How about redecorating this with audio that can be heard
Got a coffee pot in there?
Need one!
Dude.. before I would ziptie wood & all that crap that's gonna fall as soon as you get a heavy wind just buy a damn blind kit. They start at like $50. Even the top of the line aren't but $150.. geez
Nah this has worked great for 6 months and made it through many storms. So much cheaper than those kits
🦌👍👍
Dude cut the S. Just come on up to my property and enjoy a good hunting property
When we going? 👍👍
Why were you talking so low you were not hunting hard to here you
So I don't scare the animals nearby
@markpitre4257 Good evening to you!
