Today we are continuing our road trip down Turkey's beautiful turquoise coast! We are visiting the ghost town of Kayaköy and along the way, we are stopping at the stunning Blue Lagoon and Butterfly Valley viewpoints. We also try the local gözleme for the first time!

As Sammy says, “I had no idea.” Your video introduces us to a side of Turkey most of us would never imagine. Again, you continue to present content that opens our minds and hearts while expands our perspective of the world. I salute you!
Turquoise (the color) = Color of the Turks. French saw the Iznik tiles in the Blue Mosque and named the color after us. Wikipedia says Turquoise is a cyanish-green color, based on the gem of the same name. The word turquoise dates to the 17th century and is derived from the French turquois meaning "Turkish" because the mineral was first brought to Europe through Turkey from mines in the historical and Khorasan of Iran and Afghanistan... However other sources agree with my definition.

Great vid. Did you happen to discover a great driving road while making these drives? I'm a huge petrolhead and was hoping to go on a road trip inside Turkey starting at Istanbul with the Mrs in a couple of weeks. Would love a recommendation or two.
Hi! Thanks for watching :) We flew into Izmir and drove all the way down to Kas making our stops along the turquoise coast. To be honest all the driving was incredibly scenic but Im not sure we would be a good source of a trip starting in Istanbul. We love a good road trip though, have the best time 💖🤗

A lot of our foods resemble the Gozleme you are eating because we Turks were nomads from Central Asia, we needed something that you can cook in a hurry and eat later, move on to better pastures on your horse. After Ghengis Khans attacks and drought we had to leave 'China' - Altai Mountains. Turkic people spread out along the way (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, etc). Final stop todays Turkey (Anatolia). We do not look 'Asian' because during the Seljuk and Ottoman Empires we mixed with Arabs, Balkans, Russians. But if you look at the other Turkic countries they look more Asian. The look is still there.
